  1. One key piece of information missing is what passport she used to enter the UK. If she has multiple passports like Thaksin , she can do a visa run every 90 days to places like Montenegro ( wouldn't that be ironic !! ) and then not even have the need to apply for asylum.

As no extradition treaty exists to cover her crime it well suits this and future governments not to rush to change things. Her returning without a pardon will be kicking the hornet's nest big time.

  2. The discovery was made on CSI LA, a popular Facebook page that crowd-sources amateur investigations, even as the general continues to stay mum about how he acquired his multi-million baht collection of timepieces

Maybe his billionaire American mother-in-law left them to him ? If so I think he should sell one, buy an elephant or two and make merit.

  3. Clearly he has never been to Jomtien. On the land side of beach road there are shops and bars. On the beach itself there is permanent volleyball and often beach football. Where does he proposed these new zones to be ?

Could it be that the lifeless beaches are due to the fact that the farangs prefer to sit around their hotel pools because there is no litter, smells from the waste bins and you can swim in clean water ?

  4. I have a bone to pick with Thai visa.

The introductory headline for the Pattaya forum on thai visa is " Pattaya News Forum for Pattaya related news and current happenings in the infamous city ".

The corresponding one for Phuket mentions the island, and Chiang Mai the city. So why is Pattaya branded as infamous ? To stop the deluge of respondents further denegrating the place, I will be the first to admit that there are problems here, as there are in ANY city. But if you come here, avoid getting blind drunk, insulting others and act responsibly, you can have a great time.

Thailand thrives on bad news, and there is a fair bit of it to report, from dirty beaches to traffic jams and the ever present corruption. If it is as bad as the forums like to make out then why do several million foreigners carry on living in this hell hole ? My answer is that it is not as bad as the media likes to paint it.

Come on Thai Visa, look in the mirror and let the occasional good news story break the endless tales of doom and gloom. You could start by re-branding us as a "coastal" not "infamous" city, or that a step too far ?

  5. Another piece of doctoring the facts to make a sensational headline.

203 died in Thailand, causes not broken down. I know many Aussies here, almost none of them under 60 and several in their 80's. Statistically most probably died of natural causes which would have happened whether they were here or not. The way pensions are I would suggest they were here of their own accord, and like my friends enjoying a nice life.

  6. The Dolphin roundabout does not even make the top 5 in Pattaya's grid lock areas. If the blocked exit was re-opened the net result would not change anything. The main problem with roundabouts in Thailand is that there are so few of them most Thais do not have the faintest idea of what to do when they see one. That results in panic and the inevitable " if I put my foot down I can get out of this " !!

In accordance with the procedure, he explained that Thonglor police would have to translate the documents and have them sent to the Foreign Affairs Division of the Royal Thai Office to be approved by the national police chief and that the translated documents together with the petition for extradition would have to be sent to his office.

Sanit forgot to mention that this process will take just over 10 years, or slightly over the time for the statute of limitations for causing death, to expire.

Raise a glass to the man from Thai Bev !!
