  1. It's the happy ending. On a related note, I wonder how many Thai visitors would stand the scrutiny if documents were released from a lawsuit by a former Thai short timer... You know, when "she looked of age" doesn't cut it.
  2. I had never been to Pravda, up until Candide posted his link. But I do peruse some right wing stuff that jumped all over the "I understand power" like ducks on a june bug. You'll have to look for them yourself, because those links usual get taken down by the mods, along with the rest of the post.
  3. But here's the difference. We disagree with Biden voters, sure. But we don't accuse them of having half a brain, or being deplorable. And we don't try to bar them from voting for their candidate, even if he is demonstrably crooked and has dementia.
  4. Let's parse that a little, from the link: The December hiring boost as reflected in the Labor Department report came from a gain of 52,000 in government jobs and another 38,000 in health care-related fields such as ambulatory health-care services and hospitals. Leisure and hospitality contributed 40,000 to the total, while social assistance increased by 21,000 and construction added 17,000. Retail trade grew by 17,000 as the industry has been mostly flat since early 2022, the Labor Department said. On the downside, transportation and warehousing saw a loss of 23,000. Retail and construction and health care grew. Yay. Good news. But warehousing and transportation shrank. Could that be because there's less stuff being made and moved around? Maybe just the end of the Christmas rush... And maybe the Christmas rush explains retail growth? 52,000 new gub'ment jobs. I hardly call that good news for taxpayers. Leisure and hospitality, could those be associated with all the hotels accommodating millions of illegals? On the gub'ment dime? Social assistance sure sounds like gub'ment funded work... What they neglected is the downward revision in a couple of the previous months' numbers. A recurring theme, so we really never know... And the biggest omission. 216,000 jobs added (with not so many outside of gub'ment remit). Against about 300,000 new workers entering the country, mostly illegally. That sounds to me like more unemployed than at the beginning of the month. So yeah. I'd agree. Not good news. I wonder what the unemployment rate would be if they counted the millions of newly minted (albeit illegal) workers? Edit: Wannabe workers.
  5. Just watched part of the speech. I wonder if he realizes how creepy he sounded coming back to the mic with the "I understand power". MSM, via his handlers, will probably walk it back and claim he was saying "I like ice cream"
  6. It was my understanding that they no longer allowed the amount to dip below the 400K (or 800) during the year. But that was reading in several years ago... Any idea what the rule is about tapping your 400K in between extensions?
  7. I'd bet most of that cash didn't come from a bank. Or anywhere else that keeps records.
  8. A link to that would be helpful... It hasn't made it to Bing yet, and Google is blocked here. And, fair is fair...
  9. A little too early to spike it in the end zone. I'm going to wait until tax residents have to file a tax return (or don't have to...) It'll be months before we really know. Edit: Though, had the answer to the OP been "Yes", that would remove some suspense.
  10. If the Dems really hustle, they can get him tossed off the ballot in about 5 states whose Repub primaries will happen before the Supreme Court decision comes out. Then make Trump spend another few $$million and 6 months by claiming the decision may be nationwide, but it can't be retroactive. They'll lose, of course. Buy they will have achieved their purpose of draining Trump's energy and funds- just like the rest of their malicious, partisan prosecutions. Because that's how much the Democrats love democracy.
  11. Don't forget the Dems' creamy dream... Free health care for any foreigner who can make it to the US border. Like that's going to end well.
  12. Here's some more MAGA logic: He (Biden) trails among Hispanic voters by 5 percentage points, 39%-34%; in 2020 he had swamped Trump among that demographic group 2 to 1, 65%-32%. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/01/01/biden-trump-poll-odds-black-hispanic-young-voters/72072111007/ Could it be that unfettered immigration isn't what they really want? And not just pandering... Whaddaya wanna bet that seeing numbers like this, the Dems may decide to finally close the border?
  13. Just keeps getting better and better... USA Today, a well known Trump mouthpiece. With polls from this week's news... Biden now claims the support of just 63% of Black voters, a precipitous decline from the 87% he carried in 2020, according to the Roper Center. He trails among Hispanic voters by 5 percentage points, 39%-34%; in 2020 he had swamped Trump among that demographic group 2 to 1, 65%-32%. And among voters under 35, a generation largely at odds with the GOP on issues such as abortion access and climate change, Trump now leads 37%-33%. Younger voters overwhelmingly backed Biden in 2020. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/01/01/biden-trump-poll-odds-black-hispanic-young-voters/72072111007/
  14. Did you hear that? That was the sound of Trump going up again in the polls.
  15. I don't think extremists of either ilk have ever been capable of running the country, at any point. My belief is that the professional political class (who glom onto the gub'ment tit out of university and hold on for life) have made it so toxic to run. That selects extremists (in an evolutionary meaning of the word "selects") Normal, decent, competent people generally don't have the stomach for what will happen to them if they run, against either side.
  16. 3....2....1...
  17. Death threats? Anyone testifying against Trump in 2016 could have had world class 24/7 security, compliments of the HRC election team. The whole Dem party for that matter. They'd have paid $millions to keep her safe and able to testify. Just had to to make it personal. Couldn't help yourself. Typical lefty. Referring to millions as deplorables probably cost Hillary that election. It wasn't the only thing that sank her (thank God), but it was close enough that it probably made the difference. Because lefties just can't help themselves, revealing their contempt for any voter that disagrees with them. BTW, the protest was Jan 6. You may want to calm down and take a breath before you post.
  18. Did his accuser come forward the year he was running for president? And did his accuser drop the suit? As I said, it fails the sniff test on more than one level.
  19. I'm sensing some negative energy there. And some denial. Problem with harboring negative energy toward someone is that the knot is in my stomach and they're blissfully unaffected. Often referred to as "rent free space in my brain".
  20. To be factual, it would be "1/3 of voters, including 34% of independent voters". And around 9% of Dem voters. Hardly a small fringe group, don'tcha think? Good news is that, just like you, the Dems will dismiss them as "deplorables" and even more of those independents will go Red. Like the Blacks and Mexicans who are moving over in droves. Tired of being disrespected and left behind.
  21. Catch me up here. Has there been any reporting (or even speculation) regarding the coast guard pilot in reference to his state of rest, how many hours he had flown/ slept etc? Not hard to imagine a guy involved in an earthquake relief effort getting dragged out of bed or exceeding hours and making mistakes.
  22. You don't figure it's suspicious that she waited 22 years to launch a lawsuit during an election year? That flunks the sniff test on several levels.
  23. Agreed, but that goes both ways. It's just as harmful to expend energy hating on the guy as it would be to take his advice seriously. I find his stuff amusing, with an occasional kernel to ponder.
  24. Dang man. Good to know... I was actually considering trying it (supplemental oxygen, not 100%). Scratch one harebrain scheme.
  25. Yeah, when you get a guy with 15 priors and 3 pending assault cases, repeatedly let out on zero bond because he's oppressed...
