Russia's got better hackers than the Brits. This could be an own goal for the UK.

The only ones getting false hope are the broke ones. If they have money, the lonely (and the ugly) can have a harem around them if they want. I still remember Donnie from when I first moved to Asia (not Thailand). Poor guy was uglier than a kick in the nuts. But he paraded around the expat bars for over a year with a hooker on each arm. Then, the Joint Venture fell apart and he got sent home. I think the saddest day of his life was when he found out that the US Embassy wouldn't give visas to hookers.

Report Thaksin Rallies Behind Yingluck in Rice Case Drama
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Is there any evidence that any of that money came back to her personally, or is it just a case of bad policy? If it's just bad policy, how is it that they're going after her personal assets and her freedom? -
You mean other than the doctors and nurses telling me that my symptoms are a commonly reported side effect? But only on my 2nd trip to the ER a couple of years later... On my first trip, they said that they didn't know what caused my symptoms, but it definitely wasn't the vaccine I had the day before. Here's a better question. What motive do I have for lying about it?

Let's dissect that Grok statement. First, they claimed that there was no evidence that it left the injection site. Then data rolled in. Next, they claimed that it was in the blood, but it was transitory and wouldn't get into organs. Then data rolled in. Then they claimed that it is in the organs even years later, but it won't cause problems. Now, data is rolling in. Had someone posted up a couple of years ago that it would still be in organs (and tumors) years later, it would have been deleted as heresy. Now, that's widely accepted, but maybe there's no evidence that it caused the cancer. Until more data rolls in. How far do they have to move the goalposts before people snap to the fact that they just don't know?

Democrats Reckon With Deeper Crisis Beyond Fundraising Woes
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Did they not end up in debt after too? The Party did. (End up in debt) But if you look at the big discrepancy between Blue and Red spending, it was how much they grifted to their respective staffs. Lots of Dem staffers got filthy rich. No so many Repub staffers, though. I'm sure the Dem staffers are looking forward to getting even richer in 2026 and 2028. It really eases the sting of the big honking L. -
Report Phuket Villa Development Halted Amid Local Outcry Over Mudslides
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Surely someone in the Thai gub'ment has access to a GIS map showing what land is off limits to development and access to Google Earth or some other commercial satellite data to show what development is encroaching? As I recall, a lot of Phuket is off limits because it's too steep to develop safely. -
But he's not doing that. He's posting updates as the data comes out. Feel free to disagree or even debunk the data if you have actual information. But some of us are interested. So don't advocate squelching the data.

Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
impulse replied to impulse's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I'm well over 18 months on my cheapo A05s and I still get the full day out of it. I rarely get below 75% left at the end of a day. Even on travel days when I'm flying and using it relentlessly, it lasts the whole day with lots to spare. Of course, YMMV. -

Not nearly as stupid as some of the posters here. -

Money wasn't their problem. The money was their grift. -
You can call out whatever you want. But that's not what you want. You want to prevent others from posting stuff you disagree with.

There's another take here... As it stands, most kids are afraid of the water. Teaching kids water survival could motivate more of them to get in the water because they no longer fear it. I don't claim to know which is safer and which would result in more drownings. Personally, I'm in favor of teaching kids to swim. But I do acknowledge the other side of the coin.

Report British Man Nabbed Smuggling Cannabis from Bangkok to Newcastle

While that seems like the most likely scenario, if I was a bent baggage handler, I may be tempted to load some weed into some random bags and let my baggage handler buddy on the other end know which bag it's in. 4 times in the past 2 years, I've had a sticker on my checked bag indicating that BKK opened it for a security inspection.
