So it was taken out of your state pension, and you were not receiving any other benefits?

Would it be ok if I repost the first 2 pages as pictures, as not sure many would want to download to read?

Yes taken out of my state pension and i was and never have been in receipt of any other benefits.

Feel free to repost as pictures any of the download pages.

That makes interesting reading and should worry a few on here, who think themselves untouchable.

So you were fined and had to repay the over payment

Without being rude, can I ask if you appealed or had to make a payment or was it taken from your pension payments?

Yes i was fined £50 and also had to repay the overpayment. This was recovered from my pension payment. I never appealed as i was guilty of receiving the monies when not entitled.

I went to the local Bangkok Bank branch where I opened the account. They could only give me a 6 month statement on the spot. I asked for two 6 month statements for the two different 6 month periods, but they told me their system doesn't allow them to enter a date older than 6 months.

Cost is 100 Baht for the 6 month statement. A 12 month statement takes 3 business days to order from the head office at a cost of 200 Baht.

You can download a 12 month statement from your Internet banking and it gets emailed to you instantly at no cost. But as we know, this kind of statement does not have a bank stamp on it and likely won't be accepted. I downloaded one and it looks identical to ones printed by the bank at the branch, just no stamp or signature.

I get a 12 month statement from Bangkok bank to support my 65K monthly income retirement extension and its never signed or stamped. Korat immigration accept it no problem.

    I have AN on Opera.

I've been getting often these No More Activity for a long time now.

I just hit the Reload button (curved arrow top left) and scrolling gets back to normal after reloading.

Thanks, just tried hitting the 'Reload button' but it still says 'No more activity'

I spoke to an HMRC adviser using their chat service yesterday about the same thing. (See my posts above). The advisor told me that HMRC are acting on info from the DWP. So the DWP is providing the wrong figures to HMRC. I asked the advisor if there was some way they could flag my account to indicate my pension was frozen, so this wouldn't happen again and was advised they could not. I got my tax codes fixed yesterday for 23/24 and 24/25 while I was chatting to them via the web.

Thanks for your explanation, quite unbelievable that the DWP is causing this problem.

How can they arrive at a figure to inform HMRC and not actually pay me the same figure ? Beggars belief......

I checked my online HMRC Personal Tax Account (PTA) today to find out whether or not they'd presumed my frozen pension for 24/25 had received the annual increase when, of course, it has not. Sure enough, the pension figure had been increased by 8.3% and my tax code had decreased = more tax.

I called HMRC on +44 135 535 9022 and eventually spoke to someone after a half-hour wait and that awful 'music'. She initially said that they'd have to wait until officially advised by DWP that the pension was frozen before any correction could be made. When I pushed it a bit, she spoke to somebody and came back to say that, since the figure for frozen pension was the same in 24/25 as it was for all previous years that I've received the pension, they could change it there and then which she did.

Ten minutes after completing the call, I rechecked my PTA and the correction had already appeared there.

If you have this same problem and your pension amount is unchanged, ask the advisor to check because they CAN make the correction immediately if pension amount is unchanged

Yep sure enough i have also checked my HMRC PTA and they are also proposing that i receive the 8.3% pension increase for 24/25 when my pension is frozen.

What is going on here ? HTF can they get this wrong ? Now who is at fault ? The DWP know i don't receive the increases and have'nt done for years so why are they informing the HMRC that i am ? or is it a case of the HMRC just applying the % increase to ALL STATE PENSIONS irrespective as to whether your pension is frozen or not.

This is happening every year for me and i have to amend the online HMRC PTA statement to reflect that i'm not receiving any increase.

I do the online method rather than phone them and be waiting up to 45 mins on average to talk to someone.

Any of you guys that phone the HMRC have you ever asked them why this is happening ?

  8. When i was a couple of months short of the 12 months income statement from my Thai bank for my retirement extension i was offered the opportunity to just pay 15K and the problem would go away. I just went back to my bank and got the two months statement that was missing.

Its good to know there are ways to solve problems imo.

    I hear you.

Not sure, I never had the need or opportunity, but thi nk about it this way. It was worth 4k to screw with these ahols. and who enough incidents cant possible be good for the companies reputation.

What amazes me is there has been NO national reporting of this insurance companies financial problem, well i certainly have'nt seen or heard of any.......

  10. Wifey had a call from our car insurance agent to inform us that our insurance provider was no longer paying legitimate claims WTF !!! She stated that due to Covid claims the company was effectively broke and was unable to pay claims. This was confirmed by wifey's brother who insured his car with the same company and submitted a legitimate claim for 4K baht which was denied.

Needless to say we immediately effected new insurance with another provider.

Anyone else had experience with this ?

If the number is not in my phone book, the call gets bounced, period.

Yep i do the same, trouble is when its a delivery driver calling so if i'm expecting a delivery i'll answer numbers not in my phone book.

I've no idea what Window 3 at Korat is

From memory its just a staffed window that checks your paperwork and i can never remember there not being a queue of farangs seated waiting their turn . I have to say that Korat IO is imo somewhat confusing to say the least in respect of the correct queue to join but the helpful girls will soon point you to your correct queue BUT i can see problems when you try to jump the queue at your allotted appointment time, hopefully the girls will be managing the issue.

    We will see lol

Yep I only became aware of this during my visit earlier on this week, so it is new to me as well and I have not used it yet.

You make your booking Online, then when you arrive at Immigration you go straight to 'Window 3' the Right Hand Side window.

The person at Window 3 checks your papers and when correct gives you your queue number to see Immigration Officer.

Where this system really helps is if there is a random turn up, you will get priority because of your booking time.

I would assume this way Immigration know how many planned people are coming in any one day and can plan for that!!

Who knows... If this is a trial and successful - it may become the only and new normal way to visit!

Thanks for the info, the one issue i can foresee is anyone who is waiting in line at 'Window 3' to have their paperwork checked is going to be pissed off if you are perceived to be queue jumping.

  14. Thanks, so how does the process work ? The girl helpers check your paperwork first to ensure that its all correct and complete which it never is as they produce forms for completion that are not available online (one form is only available in Thai) so i assume the appointment time is with these helper girls not an IO.

These girls are always very busy helping farangs complete the paperwork so i can't quite see how this appointment process is going to work in a timely manner.

NB - My extension is done using the 65K monthly income method.

Thanks. Would carrying out the above procedure not be opening a new account ? I already have a Wise account and just require the account number and sort code to enable me to set up a standing order from my HSBC account to my Wise account.

Apologies for my lack of understanding.

Sounds like you're in the right place.  It'll give you Wise account details for a GBP account on your profile. If it's the first time creating one it'll probably ask for a sample deposit and identity check.

Thanks, but will it give me my Wise account number and Wise sort code which i will need to set up my Standing Order with HSBC ?
