''Use it or lose it" is my experience.
Having previously had a UK credit card account closed by the provider due to lack of use despite being in credit !!! i now use my CC a couple of times a year here in Thailand. Prior to use i inform them online of my intended travel to Thailand despite the fact that i live here, that ensures they don't decline the transaction.
I have no intention of informing them that i live in Thailand and thus giving them the opportunity to close the account. I use a UK address that i used to own but is now owned by my son.
My new cards are sent to my son's address in the UK and he sends to me by secure post.

IO can and do have their own local rules regarding the requirements. I have never been asked in 15 years for a copy of my Thai wifes passport just her ID card copy and her blue house book copy.
Good luck

I have lived in Thailand for 14 years, had lots of tradesmen over the years doing work of some sort, never had a problem with any until last year when two guys came to fix leak in AC, it started leaking again after about 2 hours so had to get another AC engineer to fix it which he did successfully.
I think where you live in Thailand also plays a big part in the availability of competent workers. Also IME Thai workers are very transient people and the guy you've always used has just moved on somewhere else so the search continues.

There are good tradesmen in Thailand, but hey are rare.
Yes indeed, i find asking my local Homepro for a recco usually provides a competent local.

Presumably the 7 days = fully vaccinated and from certain countries.
That is correct, i did'nt actually do mine my son did but originally he did for 10 days and then became aware i could do for 7 days because i was fully vaccinated and travelling from the UK.
AQ not Sandbox.

At present your options are quarantine for 10 days (not 7) or else Phuket Sandbox.
Are you sure about that ? I've just had 7 days approved.

if you were in Thailand before UK I think there are no issues. But I guess you had your thai pass approved before the end of the Test&Go process right?
Yes indeed i was in Thailand before travelling to the UK. Unfortunately i did'nt get my Thai Pass approved in time as there was a problem with my vaccine certificate, god knows what as there was no explanation just rejection !!!

Guys this requirement of 21 days in the UK prior to travel/arrival in Thailand - They mention permanent residency as a way of getting round this requirement, now is my Non O visa with a retirement extension classed as permanent residency. I arrived in the UK on 15th Dec and have a return flight on 2nd Jan so only 18 days.
Thanks for any help.

My RE renewal is due on 22/1/22 but i maybe short on time getting all the requirements together as i'm currently in the UK. I'm planning on coming back on 3/1/22 but may have to do the 10 day quarantine which could leave me short on time to get the requirements together. I do the 65K monthly income method through Bangkok Bank.
Is a 30 day extension permitted in my case ? Thanks in anticipation

Are you assuming that this Thai man has been given bail again? Where was that stated?

Totally irrelevant, the court is considering the offence in question nothing to do with previous offences. One of the reasons given is to "prevent further offences being committed whilst he is on bail"

I can assure you that if this happened in the UK the alleged perpetrator/offender would NEVER be given bail and one of the reasons given in court would be to prevent further offences taking place.
But things are different here in Thailand.

I'm going to toss this spanner in the works for all of us long-timers who haven't left Thailand for 10 years or so.
The previous online system simply did not work for us. I came her on a different passport number and it seems there was some arbitrary cutoff date for arrival into Thailand that the system didn't recognize if you entered before that date. My last entry was 2009. The only work-around was to go pay Immigration 1900 THB for an reentry stamp and then leave the country and return.
Before Covid I wasn't too interested in that option; With Covid here it's not an option as I'm not leaving the country - too much of a PITA.
So I'm very interested. If anyone else who is in my situation is able to successfully register and submit a 90 day, do let the rest of us know. Although the online system is convenient, the reality is that the trip to Lamphun Immigration is a 2 km detour on a weekly trip to Big C/Makro and on average about a 5 to 7 minute wait. So "convenience" is a relative term.
I had the same issue as you having not left the country since 2010 and i also had a new passport and number since that date. I got my friendly IO lady to update the IO computer records/system held for me.
I have'nt had a problem since.

Are you sure you entered your password correctly. From my experience it is easier to copy and paste it to login.
Thats exactly what i did and i've had no problems registering.

My wife's phone is not True but another provider, within the past month her phone has been used very little but seems to be constantly out of funds. When her niece checked the billing on it she found that even though we never registered the sim for mobile internet it has begun to occur internet data fees, and she has also begun to receive roaming charges even though we haven't gone anywhere.
I have exactly the same problem with Dtac. Not only that problem but when dialling *101# to check my balance its not working anymore and just shows the amount from when i last topped the credit up. Strange things are happening and i'm off to a Dtac office today to sort it out otherwise i'm going to change provider.

Tuesday I did my transfer as usual and expecting to get the money on 01st December but it kicked my account a few hours later.
and did it state FTT (international transfer) ?

For immigration, that's not good as they will say I got money on the 1st and 30th of november.
Yes indeed, thats why i never do any transfer that is for my monthly income retirement extension until at the earliest the 1st of any given month.
Its high time that immigration allowed transfers at any time as long as you transfer 12 amounts of a minimum 65K for RE's per year.
But of course that would require some thinking on behalf of IO's lol

Lets put it this way: What's more important, their civil rights or your safety. Does this sound familiar : so and so was on the law enforcement radar before the crime was committed.
But what if it was OUR civil rights being ignored ? How would you feel then ?

Any tips on buying a used car in Thailand?
in Thailand Motor Discussion
Posted
Source from a fellow farang if possible, a farang/car you know would be even better, i would'nt trust a Thai second hand dealer.
