Should be FTT and I did at 0834 Thai time so will arrive today.  Believe cut off is 0900 for same day (our time).

Yes indeed it should. I put off actually doing the transfer until i saw your post and by the time i did it it was circa 10am Thai time so will arrive tomorrow (2/11). As long as they arrive with the FTT code i'm happy, phew !!!!

I just made two transfers this morning - both said seconds until later in process when destination account was selected and changed to the 2PM (six hours).  The key is to have the destination account tagged as quite sure if I select my other BBL account it would be immediate.

Thanks for your post, yes you are correct, i've just done the same with two transfers and got the same result later on in the process (due to arrive at 2.13pm tomorrow 2/11)

My account is tagged so hopefully they will have the FTT account as they are not arriving "in seconds."

  3. Well i've just had a lookie at doing a transfer with Wise and despite having my account tagged to Bangkok Bank it states it will arrive in seconds, now that will not have the required FTT coding as it will not be routed to Bangkok Bank direct if my experiences are anything to go by, to obtain the FTT code your transfer will state an approx 2pm arrival time.

<deleted> are Wise up to ?

The wife did a Wise transfer this Thai holiday morning/ 22 Oct to our Bangkok Bank joint acct....used the Long Stay Thailand reason for transfer....funded from her multicurrency acct.....she does not have any recipients tagged to use Bangkok Bank as the partner bank.   Funds posted within seconds....K-bank was used as the partner bank.

Tagging is now the way to go, after having my BB account tagged transfers are now showing FTT whereas before they were not.

I do not have a Kkn account so went to the one right next to my Bkk Bank with the Wise pdf statement.

So maybe things are not so bad after all if these credit advices are that easily obtained. I take it that IO's will accept these credit advices where the transfers are not showing FTT codes.

Earlier today i have done a small transfer clicking on "funds for long term stay" AFTER having my BB account tagged a couple of days ago and it states the money will be in my account at 2pm, that would indicate to me it will be coded FTT as the transfer was not within seconds, we will see at 2pm.

OK, it is a PITA having to go to Wises' receiving partner bank to get the Credit Advice to show that the money came from abroads, but I did it in 30 minutes at Kkn Bank for the first time this week, and now they know me and my needs it should only be minutes.

Have you an account at Kkn bank and did you just show them the Wise PDF to substantiate your request ?

Also can you just visit any Kkn branch if you don't have an account with them ?

Looks like if you had a £ borderless account, you'd use that to send £ to BB who would do their conversion with their fee plus poor exchange rate but at least you'll be guaranteed FTT

Thanks, i'm trying to get an idea of the costs from using both Swift options, using my HSBC account in the UK to Bangkok Bank and then using Wise. I'm assuming that both Swift options will guarantee an FTT coding.

If I choose to send dollars from my Borderless dollar account to Bangkok Bank using Wise's SWIFT "Same Currency" send instead of having Wise convert to Baht as used normally, then I am 99% assured that will show up as FTT international transfer in Bangkok Bank.  Costs a little more that way but much cheaper than having my USA bank send using SWIFT.

So to have Wise complete a Swift transfer to my Bangkok Bank account i need to open a Borderless account with Wise and use money from that account for my Swift transfer.

If that is correct that would explain why when i clicked "Swift transfer" on a recent small "testing'' transfer but just transferred from my UK account it did'nt show up as FTT and the transfer was immediate.

EXACTLY!!!! Thanks!!!!!! Look forward to their reply.

    Here's their reply.........

    Thanks for getting in touch!

I understand your concern, but as the payment is successfully paid out from our end, we couldn't make any changes right now.

However, you can reach out to Bangkok Bank branch where the account is maintained and provide the following documents:

    1. Bangkok Bank Savings Passbook or Statement showing the specific transaction

    2. Passport of Recipient

    3. Agreement of the purchase of Condominium (for purchasing accommodation purposes)

By following the above steps, Bangkok Bank will provide " Confirmation Letter of International Funds Transfer"  or what we usually known as "FET" to the recipient which you will be able to use to show it as a proof to the local authorities.

Please keep in mind that there is an administration fee of 100 THB to produce this official document which will be payable to Bangkok Bank directly.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

Quick update with regards to my test transfer:

    • Transfer set up 9:00 am Tuesday 12 Oct.
    • GBP to Bangkok Bank.  Account tag set up ages ago, reason selected 'Long term Stay', as always
    • Wise app showed date of expected payout as 14 Oct.
    • Funds arrived Bangkok Bank 2pm Thursday 14 Oct.
    • Shows as 'International Funds Transfer' in app.

Would it be a "tagging" problem now ? i've never used the tagging option just the "funds for long term stay"

Not to insult you, but did you select funds for long term stay? Did you use debit ach as well? Thanks and sorry to hear of your problem. Please let us know what Wise says.

Yes indeed i did select funds for long term stay, it was from my UK bank account so no debit ACH which i believe is for our American friends only.

I will indeed post the "Wise'' reply, here's hoping it is in fact "Wise" lol
