  1. agree.

the fried chicken dishes - the amount of meat in there is minuscule.

nearly every meal comes with a spoonfull of meat sliced into as many small pieces as possible ......

even when you order a steak its the size of a chicken nugget .......

very hard to get a decent amount of meat in your diet if your trying to bulk up

i have had to resort to having a fried egg and a pint of milk from 7-11 with every meal in the past

to avoid losing muscle never mind gaining any more.........

  2. At least for me this serves as the answer to the trust issues as in the OP -- battery operated. In general here in TH, as with anywhere else, I try to minimize the situations where I am in a position to have to trust somebody.

I tried to find one of those all around bkk, they never had them. The one I had with me from the US didnt work. I was bummed. Couldnt clean the sides as often as I do here, made me look older than necessary for smihland!

you just didnt know where to look .........theres a few stalls selling them in pantip plaza

mine was about 600-700 and its still going strong about 3 years later .....

i even went back and bought a mini version for shaving with ,its the same machine except a third of the size

they had loads of them .........

    this Pantip?

  3. there were a few units for sale in Switzerland last week but I was not lucky enough to get one.

I arrived in Thailand today and wanted to buy one. They told me that they aren't coming until the end of April, beginning of Mai (HTC store). Probably at MBK they will get them sooner.

seems to be already a guy in mbk who has impoprted some so the rest will likely have them within a week or two :

  4. i-mobile phones were amazing spec for the value last year

still ok but looks a lot like theyre getting greedy and trying to match their pricing/spec

to the lower tier of the top manufacturers like acer etc

by all accounts im sure its still a good phone but for that price or less i would just get a Samsung s4

or a HTC one or a note 3 or any of the best phones of 2013 .......that all have loads of custom roms and software hacks i can install

16,900 for an i-mobile with a 13mg camera is more than a bit lavish in q2 of 2014 ,same money look what else there is now:

    17,200 for a 32GB note 3 : http://www.mirakar.com/detail_product.php?IDPro=14746

    13,700 for an s4 : http://www.mirakar.com/detail_product.php?IDPro=14035

    15,400 for Sony Z1 : http://www.mirakar.com/compare.php?IDPro=14545

    15,900 for HTC Butterfly : http://www.mirakar.com/detail_product.php?IDPro=12588

i think they will be forced to half that price to sell them ,made in japan sticker means nothing to me

  5. I have used their whey still am seems good enough for me.

have you ever tried this stuff :

    http://www.phukethealthshop.com/#!/~/product/category=664924&id=1461075

it was my favourite one in europe so i bought 10lbs of it here although i dont train as hard as i used to anymore it

sure helps when you have sore muscles to knock back a couple of scoops and a pint of milk

there is very little protein in 30thb thai meals ,enough to sustain you but not enough for training purposes

  6. Having worked in Canada for 7 years, I have absolutely no idea why on earth a Canadian would choose to live in Thailand.

Ive worked in canada and loved it too

pity its so cold but thats why whisky was invented

across the road from my old job we found a " hotel " by accident one day

walked into the bar to have food and a beer at breaktime and there was strippers dancing around poles and porn on the tvs above the bar at LUNCHTIME + a few pool tables :D

god how I loved canada when i was there ,id go back if i wasnt so lazy and used to the thai weather now

  7. tnx.

club protein mention on their website their whey is from the US, soy from china (no company mentioned), pea from canada.

they can order the ingredients and make it here and avoid import taxes based on the import value of the final product

it happens on many levels ,especially the auto / motorcycle industrys

  8. tnx.

club protein seems to be insanely cheap. any experience with their products (soy/pea protein)?

are they legit? there have been incidents where shops sold a powder which was a mixture of prortein powder plus something cheaper

club protein has a good reputation and its unbranded

the premium usa brands are more likely to be fake in thaialnd because of the higher mark up they command

whey protein used to be waste product of the dairy industry before bodybuilders found out they could drink it

theres no reason it should be highly expensive except if its subject to excessive taxes and club protein is made here as far as i can tell

  9. I bought a cd player in Carrefour Pattaya years ago. it was on special for Bt3800 reduced from Bt6300.

Got to the check out and it scanned at the higher price. I got it for free as per Carrefour policy that was printed on the wall in large text at the customer service counter.

    The manager very extremely pissed.

That's not pinned on any walls anymore.... Maybe they had a rethink on it.....

  10. All these domestically made 'big bikes' (read parallel twins) are good entry level bikes but that's about it, an experienced rider who has experienced the thrill of 1000cc+ in line fours will get bored of these types of bikes extremely quick....as did I!!!

well then maybe its time to put your hand in your pocket and buy a proper bike ?

they cost more but are widely available thesedays so no excuse to critique budget bikes being made with budget parts

  11. If the second hand part fits the specs and has plenty of life left, where's the problem?

the last bad crash i saw was a friends wrecked er6n and either insurance or kawasaki rama9 took the liberty to use

2nd hand parts/reconditioned /remanufactured parts becauae when we examined it carefully we found a few small scratches and signs of wear on the "new "

parts and rather disturbingly they also offered to bend the frame back into shape to save time ordering a new frame and

changing the frame number and green book at the DLT

luckily he knows a bit about bikes and insisted on a new frame because the mechanics were trying to talk him into letting them fix the old one even though insurance had already paid kawasaki for a brand new replacement frame rolleyes.gif

  12. I hate this sound, I dont think I will be able to get over it, everybody will think I am driving 125 honda not 500 cbr, they should ommit r at the end for sure.

pussy bike, I am starting to believe that these Thai bikes are the worse garbage ever, the will break down sooner or later, can they be compared to Chinese crap like lifan or something ?

it would be quite silly + expensive for honda to offer a generous 5 year warranty if the bikes were " the worst garbage ever + probably break soon or later "

i doubt thai manufacturing and quality control is as good as japan but i think these bikes will be fine for the intended market

if you have to have a roaring inline 4 engine ,double disc brembo brakes and 180+ hp then just buy a zx10r ,cbr1000rr ,gsx1000rr , yamaha R1 or have a look at bmw , ducatti ,triumph and ktm but be prepared to dig deep into those pockets :)

theres no point buying a cheap commuter bike and comparing it to bikes that cost maybe 4 times as much or youl just depress yourself :)

right now , its probably the best "value" bike you can buy around 200k in thailand,

if 200k is your max budget but you need more power you could buy a 2011 /2012 ninja 650r / er6n which will be a fair bit more powerful with a 649cc engine and double disc brakes standard etc but they sound crap as well with stock exhaust

  13. A bit small and too light, it felt like a moskito. But the best bike for little money to go fast with. I did several 600 and 700km days on them, take a highway and pin the throttle open.

Pin the throttle open and what? Get shaken to bits? Can't think of anything much more uncomfortable to do on a highway besides get run over.
You have obviously never ridden a CBR150R, the engine runs like a sewing machine at 10,000rpm. Try it out, you'll be amazed!

I've never ridden the CBR250 but I bet it vibrates more at the same speed as the litlle 150.

youve never ridden a CBR 250 but your still qualified to say it vibrates worse than a CBR150 at the same speed ?

  14. theres only 3 shops in bangkok www.bmr-bikes.com ,www.bangkokbikerentals.com and www.siamwheels.com

i know the owners of two of them and they regularly have had customers crash everything including 125cc scooters because

many people from countries with real police will underestimate the unpredicability of thai roads

  15. Apparently, checking around few bike shops, there seems to be a shortage

of stock, no PCX are available and typically, they have no idea when they

will have new stock for sale,

what is going on? would that be Honda tactics to firm the price of the bike

    by creating artificial shortage?

there is plenty of them in honda dealer at pattanakarn rd

just follow petchbury rd a few miles

they have all the latest colours in stock as well

brown one + the limited edition matt black with red stripes looks like the best one

  16. Honda is getting strange about colors. The 600 silverwing in states only comes in black now.

that would save a lot of hassle when people drop their bikes ,

all spare body parts only stocked in black :D

occasionally we use my versys as a stunt /dirt bike in a land well outside bkk at night

massive mounds of dirt and obstacles and jumps

couple of times its been dropped and the parts had to be ordered in original 2011 colours

if there was only one colour ,it would have been faster to fix

  17. Anyone with internet access can see theres at least 5 phantoms for sale in the 40-50k price range ,

an underpowered cruiser that originally cost 80k 6+ years ago is not worth 60-70k now

    dream on guys

especially as a better one is due to hit the streets with a bigger engine and modern fi technology

There may well be some Phantoms for sale for between B40 and B50,000, but NOT a 2007 or newer one, with less than 8,000km and described to be in "brilliant condition". You want to compare apples and oranges to try to justify your nonsense post, be my guest. A quick check on the TV classified found the following five Phantoms for sale. Three of the 5 Phantoms are offered at B60,000 or more. Two bikes are offered at B47,000 -- one of those has 49,000 km on the clock and one is a 2004!!!! No Phantom has an asking price near B40,000, none. I found one ad from April 2012 for a 2004 Phantom with 12,350 km on the clock; asking price B65,000 -- the bike was SOLD! Used bike prices are all over the place, but B60,000 for a 2007 Phantom with less than 8,000km and in excellent condition is pretty much on the money as far as asking price is concerned, no matter what is is that you think you have found.

you should check some bikes that arent on farang sites like thaivisa ,or even better

bring your phantom " in great condition" into a honda dealer and try and part exchange it for a newer bike and they will wake you up

    from your dream

anyway ,bikes usually dont change hands for asking price

the phantoms advertised at 42k -47k could easily be haggled lower for a wad of cash and quick sale but you continue "proving " that a 6 yr old 80k bike has only depreciated 10k in 6 years if it makes you feel better whistling.gif
