that is pretty cheap, is it first class?
Yes, First Class. Collision, Comprehensive which includes Fire, Theft, Vandalism, Medical with private room.
Bail assistance.
5000 Baht deductible.
MLG Consulting Service Pattaya
Try AA Insurance also
Do they insure bikes over 3yrs old?
Do they pay up without delay if there's a wreckage?
Variaya refused me insurance on a late 2009 ninja 650abs because it was " too old" in 2011/2012
And that was at their hq in bkk..
wow that is crazy, i mean only 3 years old bike? Do they insure only new bikes?
the package i got was 14,000 at real motorsports ( between ramkamheng 146-148 on the main road )
it pays 80% if stolen in year one
only 60% if stolen in year two
in the third year they didnt even want to insure it for some ridiculous reason )
Do they think the life of big bike is two years or something ?

Drift ghost hd is the way to go,have one coming next week
which model did you get and how much do they cost ?
why is it better than a go-pro ?
im considering a bike cam but i dont know want the hassle of always trying to prevent people
stealing it because i use my bikes for everything and it wud be a major hassle to have to take it off
every time i get off the bike to go into 7/11 etc

sometimes It is a pain in the ass leaving a big bike or a nice car parked on common places.
At my office I was getting really pissed because the valet guys were sitting on my bike, reading newspaper on it, and even sleeping on it with the side-stand.!
they leave it full of grease and dirty, with mirrors all messed up.
because the big bike parking is just next the boot where they work. unfortunately, and only another ER6N is there, but so dirty they dont wanna touch it.
I had to complain the the management about it in person and make sure each day get not close to it anymore.
Not to mention all the times I've seen them sleeping at lunch time inside the mercedes owned by the people who work at the office, with the aircon on.
There are full of morons everywhere who do not value others properties... and just take advantage of it.
so, a dont blame those who park their expensive cars at special places or big bike and get pissed when idiots who care none the less for other properties are taking the place.
a 120 decibel alarm would fix these kind of problems -they will scurry away like rats when it goes off
how did they get into his mercedes and turn on the air/con btw ? doesnt he lock it ?

Can you please explain what you mean by "pray tell me what My problem is"
crazy pom
"pray tell" is not a phrase ive ever heard used in the uk .......
i think its from the good ole usa .......

Crocs are the most offensive and ugliest shoes ever.
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
Yes, but damn are they comfortable and practical !
Depends which Crocs, these corduroy are sooo soft and comfortable.
Jeez all you need with them are a smoking jacket
and of course to complete the "look" you need to be smoking a pipe old boy ......
-
I can tell you that a bite from one of these is indeed very painful. I got bitten on the foot after failing to bash my shoes before putting them on and although not dangerous unless you have heart problems the pain that it inflicted for a day and a half was the most pain I have ever experienced. I am a great believer of live and let live but these get despatched without a thought
my x gf mother was bitten by one of these things and she was in hospital for 2-3 days apparently in agony
even at a thai picnic once i saw one under the table and i was wearing boots,i know thais dont like to kill anything but when i asked them first they
all told me to stamp on it (they were all in flip flops ) and didnt want to risk being bitten
these same people wont kill a cockroach but they will kill one of these without hesitation so they must be nasty

On the other hand even the expensive benzine is not as good as fresh after many months so the best approach when storing vehicles for a long time is to leave as less fuel as possible and refill with fresh one before starting.I think all this is true
If I leave my bike unattended for a few weeks with gssihol it won't start
Real petrol (ie benzine) I can leave it 6 months and it still starts on the first turn off the key)
For me anyway, that speaks volumes....
thats true as well but sometimes im ust too lazy or dont have time to drain the tank
other times i go away and im away longer than i expected to be etc

OK, power is relative and I don't want to discourage others from buying this bike.
I'm just saying it's much slower than the YNE, but is still fine for Bangkok.
I plan to ride down to Hua Hin soon so will see how it does on more open roads in a few weeks.
I rebodied my YNE to stock and here is a comparison.
The Tricity is shorter in overall length so I hope that helps me maneuver better through stopped traffic.
I also spent 15 hours learning how the bike is put together by adding Ninja250 mirrors, and 7 additional LED lights for braking, turns, and a blue underglow.
The stock mirrors are very good but wide; with these narrower mirrors I think lane splitting will be fine.
I can actually position them narrower than the body but then I don't see much behind me.
Yamaha should have put fairing mirrors on in the original design; the further away mirrors are gives better viewing angles.
I got a XL size Bilmola helmet and it fits the Tricity but not the YNE.
Both of these bike could have had more storage space under the seat, not sure why they don't bother maximizing under seat storage on all these bikes.
Rather than overload the thread with tons of photos, you can see more pics here.
http://s749.photobucket.com/user/ttakata73/slideshow/Yamaha%20Tricity
the reason storage under the seat is limited is if they made that compartment bigger ,they would likely have to make the fuel tank smaller
or the area between your legs and the handlebars etc so its a compromise
6.6 litres on a 125cc bike isnt bad actually even though this ones a bit heavier than your average 125cc
thx for the pics btw ,it looks like a well engineered vehicle

ask him for receipts for every baht of rent he collected in the last 2 years and a copy of his thai id card
(tell him your boss needs to check them for accounting because your rent is paid or subsidised by work )
my guess is he will stop calling and never bother you again because even if he is declaring the property as a rental
hes probably put down a lower value to pay almost no tax ,,,,,,,,,,TIT
he m\y not even be declaring it as a rental property if the bills are still in his name he might be pretending he lives there and paying zero tax
in which case your problems will likley disappear

- watch out for giant centipedes too ,they move faster and bite harder than scorpions
- always give your boots a good bang off the floor before you put them on in the morning ,apparently a giant centipede bite hurts incredibly bad for about 2-3 days

I would also like to add a question to the OP's,
How much is a can of Cheers beer these days at the local shop or 7/11?
cheers is 48thb for the large glass bottle in fortune town on ratchada rd ,bkk
-
ive been screwed over by so many thai landlords on deposits i would keep it as compensation
(worst case scenario you have to pay up in the event of the police catching you which is probably -10% )
theres no way the police are going to start a manhunt over 7k so that part is just laughable .......they wouldnt even bother looking for my scooter
which was worth maybe 40k when it got stolen
i assume the bills are in his name rather than yours ? bcause if theyre in your name then your going to have to pay them anyway at any address in thailand
if he took money for the future bills and they were higher than he expected ,thats a mistake hes going to have to learn from
if he wants to be a sucessful landlord

OMG leave your ducatti at home if shopping with it is such a nightmare for you
i dont have a ducatti nor do i shop but thats not the point of this thread .........
an area allocated for large bikes should be for large bikes since there isnt any
way to get them into the scooter area .............
-
Yipyap say: "if im reverse parking my car next to a lamborghini im EXTREMELY careful not to go anywhere near it or touch it while getting in or out.
But if you are parking next to my Brio...screw it.?
That's not what I said and I always park carefully but of course the expense of the vehicle next to it should be considered
Piling in scooters to the big bike area will eventuality result in someone's big bike being damaged and there's little chance a Thai family on a fino will pay if their shopping bags scratches someone's ducatti etc

Where is this rental company?
I think the plan outlined above is pretty good - figure out the fair price using the yamaha parts list with prices (note that these always include labor in thailand), a repair shop quote, plus 2 or so extra rental days where the bike is out of commission, and go negotiate with the shop. Depending on where this is involving the tourist police might help.
Forget about fleeing the country, that's certainly not worth it. Besides you do want to pay for the damage you have caused.
of the first smart posts in the thread -make an agreeable deal for the repairs +m bit extra for the inconveinence
and their bike being out of action while its being fixed etc
dont even try and run away from it ,if you get held at the airport you might e in custody for days and you will pay in the end anyway
i would not let circumstances get thay bad and make a deal with the owner (its a scooter ,not a ferrari so ask yourself if its realy worth risking
a thai jail for what would be condsidered peanuts money in your home country .......up 2 you though but i think a negeotiable deal is your best option )
if i was in that area id go down with you and help sort it out but im in bkk so its out of my range at the moment ............sorry bro

the big bike area is there for big bikes that need a bit more space to manuoever ,turn ,park etc
my bike is 270kg,you cant just lean it over with one hand like the couple of thousand scooters that will enevitably be stuffed everywhere
it also needs a bigger turning circle and the fairings are very expensive so its not like if someone scratched them id just get new ones
for a couple of hundred baht down the local honda
thats why i dont like people on pcxs taking up spaces for people who genuinely need them because theyre in a much bigger vehicle
its not much differnt to parking in a disabled spot if youre not disabled puting a 125cc in the space reserved for big bikes and if i were the owners
i would just clamp the wheels and charge them 1000 to get it off because theres just no way you can park a hayabusa in the area for scooters etc
its nothing to do with elitism ,sense of entitlement or feeling "special "
Interesting that you skipped the financial aspect to the owner's of the residence.
I feel your pain about trying to fit into tight spaces. Official specs on my bike is 195 kg; throw on panniers and it's a much fun as mud wrestling with a hog.
But guess what? I choose to ride that bike. Even back in farangland a 'big bike' is a luxury. More so in our host country. If I want to ensure that I can go anywhere I break out a scooter. If there were areas marked "Fortuner/Mu-7/CX-9/Pajero Only" would you feel bad parking there with your sedan if the regular spots were taken and there was plenty of space available in the "big car" area?
There is a huge difference between taking a disable spot and a small scooter taking up a big bike's spot. You think a disable person chose that? To even equate the two, your choice in bikes with someone who has limited mobility, is ridiculous and quite frankly does smack of feeling special.
I was only light heartedly posting earlier, but a comment like that definitely raises the holy JFC reaction.
Why doesn't everybody on the TV cry parade stop broadcasting to part of the world (and not even the part that can or will change their situation) about not getting their way and how that makes their woo-woo hurt and vote with their wallets? Patronise another establishment and hit the owners of the place that doesn't placate you in their wallet. If it's such a big deal to them, i.e. they lose enough money, than they'll come around to your point of view.
If one chooses to ride a big bike instead of a pickup is he selfish?
"Even back in farang land a big bike is a luxury" you just said
We'll, not if it's your only form of transportation, ok, I'll concurr if you have a big bike and only use it for weekend posing at Starbucks is a luxury but if it's your only form if transportation 7 days a week i don't think anyone should be chastised for riding a big bike and hoping for a half decent place to park it ..... Ymmv

Is there one reason why you call yourself a big bike driver on a 250 cc motorbike. It's all a point of view. For me on my 150 cc a 250 cc have just more cc. For parking is it in my view more important how tall and width the motorbike is, what the turning circle is and the knowledge of the motor driver how he can handle his motorbike.
I am almost sure that my 150 cc motorbike is taller, wider and higher then the most standard 250 cc motorbikes. Saying this in past when parked my motorbike in a shopping mall it just toke some more time to park it.
a 150cc can fit in anywhere and its light enough to lean sideways to get into or out of tight spots
you just cant do that with a 1300-1800cc bike that weighs around 300kg ,its got nothing to do with riders ability ,its just physics
you cant even manouever a huge bike through the scooter area and even if you could it has a high chance of being damaged
or scratched by somchai and his 20 year old wave parking 2 cm away from it etc and it costs a lot of money to repair big bikes
if im reverse parking my car next to a lamborghini im EXTREMELY careful not to go anywhere near it or touch it while getting in or out
but it seems the same courtesy is not extended to big bikes
youre comparing apples to oranges talking about parking your 150 just "takes more time " because this would be physcially impossible
on a bike with an engine 10-15 times bigger and a few times heavier
i would happily buy a ticket and park in a car parking space and pay by the hour but most places wont allow this as they have designated an area for big bikes already (which is sometimes full of pcxs hence the problem )

Unless you remap your fuel delivery, your bike will run like crap (if it runs at all- you'll also risk engine damage), and you'd see around a 25% decrease in mileage.
You can make more power on E85, but not without setting your bike up for it (which may be next-to-impossible depending on what you ride).
There's an E85 map for my bike that adds ~6hp in the mid-range, but I think it's more hassle than it's worth.
i am on a 2011 suzuki 1250cc bandit so losing or gaining 6hp would make very little differnce to me
if i thought i could save 30% on fuel i would but of course ,not at the expense of my bike
just interested to know what is this stuff and why its so much cheaper that the other 39-50 thb fuels etc
i dont have an owners manual btw .......

If they report him as making a bad debt or theft to the police/immigration, they might stop him at the airport and make him pay the claimed amount before he can go. It happened to a friend of mine. Best option is to take the bike to a neutral shop and have it fixed for a reasonable price...
That doesn't fulfill contractual obligations if you read it properly, (nobody ever does though)
-
if you dont post nonsense, i dont answer. pretty easy.
Actually you should go back and read what he wrote (in too many words possibly): 95 benzine is better than gasohol of any octane. He also verified the need to remap the er6n to make better use gashol. All these things makes perfect sense.
I think all this is true
If I leave my bike unattended for a few weeks with gssihol it won't start
Real petrol (ie benzine) I can leave it 6 months and it still starts on the first turn off the key)
For me anyway, that speaks volumes....

maybe ive been lucky but none of my bikes has never been emission tested when changing ownership
just check the frame number matches the engine number and thats it
didnt even have to start the engine for them on any bike ..........but maybe if its really really loud they might think
of testing the emissions ,i usually keep the baffle in so its just a bit louder than stock but it sounds like a real bike
instead of a go-kart
