From Thai Airways FB page: Travel Update: Bangkok Flights Operating as Normal Following today’s earthquake, we’d like to reassure our passengers that all flights to and from Bangkok are operating as scheduled. However, our offices in Thailand are temporarily closed. Thank you for your understanding.

good to hear! recently booked with them to go to Vietnam next month... usually i book with Air-Asia ...but total crap now, Air-Asia site is unworkable! pity cos the Air-Asia hostesses are ALL STUNNING BABES!😍 ...still this won't be too bad -
@khunPer Thanks for posting the above, I have read all the pages you posted, yes makes sense now. The wife is going to give the Amphur office where our marriage is registered a call to ask if they are okay about doing: "A Civil Documented WILL" ...I'll report back the results.
-
Interesting... its states in regards to foreign WILLS: "Authenticated WILLS that have been written outside of Thailand may be accepted in Thai courts, but must be translated into Thai." Hmm... @NoDisplayName I think in your case, if you do NOT have children in Thailand then my understanding is... (no Thai WILL, but legally married) EVERYTHING automatically goes to your Thai wife.

re: " open a joint account." bank refused as i don't have 'work-permit' ...I'm on NON-0 ...(Yep bizarre to say the least!) re: "We've made a DIY will, two witnesses. Amphur refused to register with foreigner involved. No children, no ex'es for either of us. Thai assets shouldn't be a problem. House and car in her name, so only bank accounts." So what are you going to do about your Thai bank accounts? I almost tempted when i return to UK this summer, to rewrite / codicil my UK WILL ...AND include: " *all the funds in my Thai bank account to go to my wife as sole beneficiary" However, it raises another question... would this updated UK WILL with the *above (written at UK solicitors law firm) be valid /legal when presented at a Thai court under Thai Law ?
-
NO, in my name only. Don't know if this is replying at me - if so check below* *NOTE: I have a detailed full 'UK WILL' written at UK solicitors law firm, which both my wife AND daughter are beneficiaries of, the reason i didn't mention the Thai bank account to my UK solicitor back then was because I assumed my Thai cash would automatically go to my wife. [ I only recently discovered: when wife goes to the Thai court, the court will ask if i have any children in Thailand, if i do then my cash is divided or worst all given to my daughter? ] SO...surely in my case a simple one page Thai WILL stating (cash, my ONLY Thai asset) all the funds in my Thai bank account to go to my wife as sole beneficiary, 2 Witnesses present at the Amphur office (where our marriage was registered) all parties sign & date ...would suffice? Hoping @Liverpool Lou kind Sir will chime in...

Have you been scammed/overcharged at 7-11?
CaptainPeacock replied to JoseThailand's topic in General Topics
"Have you been scammed/overcharged at 7-11?" does this count... I recently popped in 7 to pick up a 20B coconut lip balm, whist their added a couple of bags of peanuts, when i paid the SMILING STUNNER girl to my surprise put all in a free bag... when i got home and opened the bag ...the silly cow forgot to put the 20B coconut lip balm in!!! STILL 20B ...for a nice looking SMILING Fox! -
Though I'd post this question here to save starting a new thread, Help / Advice needed... Been happily married to a Thai lady here for 17 years. A few years prior to my happily married relationship, I had a daughter (she is an adult now living in the EU) from a Thai relationship that went sour... My question is in regards to my ONLY asset in Thailand, which is some cash in a Thai bank account. If i was to pass away, my cash would automatically go to my wife (which is what i want) however wife and i was discussing this and she informs me when she goes to the court, the court will ask if i have any children in Thailand, if i do then my cash is divided or worst all given to my daughter? NOTE: I have a UK WILL which both my wife AND daughter are beneficiaries of, the reason i didn't mention the Thai bank account to my UK solicitor back then was because i assumed my cash would automatically go to my wife. To get around the above dilemma... Would: (DIY) As discussed in this thread... A one page Thai WILL stating all the funds in my Thai bank account to go to my wife as sole beneficiary, 2 Witnesses present at the Amphur office (where our marriage was registered) suffice? Thanks for any advice, especially @Liverpool Lou as he seems VERY Knowledgeable in this subject...

Hi Guys, I'm about to book a BKK to Vietnam ticket , either Air Asia or Vietjet-Air (price wise same) Save starting a new thread...thought I'd ask here. Air Asia seem to have gone down hill...so asking about Vietjet-air (NEVER flown them) current reviews - anyone been flying with them recently? Don't know which one to book cos both the above airlines have horrendous reviews! @Bredbury Blue are you still flying with them? Thanks for any info guys!

Hi Guys, I'm here on a Non-O marriage 90 day visa, usually I go and get a 60 day extension, however on this trip I want to travel to Vietnam for a few days... Save me trawling through the "60-day visa exemptions" threads. I have a simple question... My question is: On my return from Vietnam and arrival at either don mueang airport / suvarnabhumi airport - would they grant me a 60-day visa exemption? info: I have a valid ticket to return back to the UK. I have NO free thai visa stamps in my 5 year passport, (all stamps are Non-O + 60 day extensions) I ONLY stay in the kingdom 5 months per year. Reason i ask is i read somewhere that BKK airport can be a bit difficult for this "60-day visa exemptions" Must say I find it totally bizarre that now it's possible to do unlimited land-border runs!!! Thanks in advance for any help / info.

Many THANKS for ya post! RE: "To Kathmandu? No. " WHY? RE: "they screw you on baggage allowance" Will NOT happen as cabin allowance is 7KG (40 x 30 x 20 cm) ...i doubt my cabin bag weights more than 4 KG! RE: flightradar24 just had a go - and only data for last 3 days...says Unknown STATUS for 16 Jan 2024 flight...i'm i missing something? My Flight no: SL220 flightradar24.com/data/flights/sl220 I think they want money for extra data? (More than 7 days of SL220 history is available with an upgrade to a Silver (90 days), Gold (1 year), or Business (3 years) subscription.) -

Great! OK, i have NO worries about luggage allowance as only take a small cabin bag, OVER luggage allowance seems to be the main complaints online, the other complaint is cancellation DATE & or changing their time schedules ? ...this is what worries me the most, but is it no more worrying than the other budget airlines?
