Pattaya to get huge new beachside development
Peabody replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Pattaya News
Not directly related, but there appears to be a huge chunk of empty land running from Beach Rd to 2nd Rd just adjacent to View Talay 6. Anybody got a whiff of what might be coming for that prime plot? -
No, the biggest threat is that the spike protein mutations will no longer be recognized by current vaccines and that the virus has similar devastating effects.

As long as they use primers in the non-mutated RNA bases they will be fine. Doesn't matter what is in between the primers.

What they are counting on is that only O appears to have both the Alpha and Beta mutations, by mixing the 2 solutions (Ab solutions?), you will detect O. Don't see how that would help. Seeing both show up simultaneously in SEPARATE tests might accomplish what they want, but it would make an assumption that no other variant contains BOTH Alpha and Beta mutations.

I'm in the exact same situation as the OP, except my bank is SCB. About 2 months ago, maybe more, I stopped receiving SMS OTPs from them. I live near South America. It was working fine up until then. I asked a pal in BKK to send me an SMS & it worked. I also have a local number. I can send an SMS in both directions from my phones while overseas. I've asked to use email notification but they don't provide that. They also won't let me make international transfers, as I retired after working 15 years in Thailand and they claim I need a work permit to be allowed to make international transfers. I opened the damn account in 2000!

On 11/18/2021 at 5:55 AM, OneMoreFarang said: Fact is that any child which grows up with two fathers and no mother will suffer a lot. We can argue that this shouldn't be like that. But in reality it will be like that. So why would two gay guys adopt a child knowing that that child will suffer? It's egoism of the gay guys. They obviously don't care. Isn't it odd that those who use the "bullying argument" never address the actual problem: THE BULLIES!

Really only 1 place to go: Ta-to.com I've been using them for probably 15+ years. Easy safe online ordering. I was sandboxed over the summer and they mailed them to Pattaya for me, 2-day service, no extra charge. Best prices and seem to be genuinely helpful customer-oriented Thai people. On occasion I've gone directly to their offices to order. They always include some small freebie, like a bottle of eyedrops or some-such. They seem to stock EVERYTHING contacts.

Okay- how many of you clenched when you read the headline? ???? -
I don't trust these numbers from next door Myanmar either. Just a smooth downward curve, in spite of the large spikes in cases.

Patong bars defy national order to open as ’restaurants’

There's something called Stewart sandwiches in the States, Premade sandwiches and a small warming ove. The rule there is you have to offer food in a bar. Wonder if that would qualify in LoS -
A user’s guide to Thailand’s new digital health pass

No. We were all required to download and activate an app before clearing immi in Phuket. Has your pic and a QR code. Had to check-in at hotel once/day by letting them scan the QR code. They also asked to scan it flying over to U Tapao from Phuket. -
"Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said today (Thursday) that a censure debate is a mechanism for opposition parties to keep a check on the government, but urging people to vote against the government is not, adding that, if the opposition has valid evidence of alleged wrongdoings by the government or any ministers, there are other legal channels through which they can proceed to take action." Why does he automatically assume that the people will vote against the government? Kind of a tell.

Great for Nong Nooch, the source of the new vegetation. It used to be such a beautiful walk, shaded by palm trees, many benches on which to sit. Every year it gets worse.
