I have been in this position and they let it go. Had to ask for a supervisor though. They do have the descretion to make a decision either way. It's not binary.

There is a massive amount of fake melatonin on Lazada. Been couagbt out myself.

Many expats may not be aware, but at a private hospital procedures and surgery may be negotiable for you. I have successfully negotiated a lower fee for certain surgeries at the private hospital I tend to favor. Doesn't hurt to ask.
