Those are seeds that have formed. There's no such thing as "male seeds"... you're a little confused on how the plant works. Either some pollen landed on your plant and made some seeds, or the plant produced some unnoticed hermaphrodite (male) flowers and self-pollinated. But either way, they're not "male seeds."

ok i will look closely at the rest oif the plant and look for pollen sacs......  thanks PPK ????

i dont think there is another source of pollen nearby, as i have moved the plant 10 metres plus away from the other plants we have, and i did find a couple of sacs on this plant down the stem, but i thought i had removed them all.

glad to hear that these are seeds, rather than sacs, as there was quite a few of them and it looked a real task to remove them all

PS a friend did tell me that as there are so many people growing now, there will be a lot of pollen in the air / on isnects etc, so it will be easy for outdoor plants to become pollinated.  any truth in that you think?

  2. i live in hua hin, and so daylight / dark ratio is approx 12hrs/12hrs

does this mean that any plant i put outside will automatically start to flower?

what is the best way to prolong the growth stage, until i am ready to flower it?

i have put a solar powered light above the plant. which automatically turns on at dusk and stays lit for six hours or so.......  will this help maintain the growth stage?  (the light is not very bright, but i could upgrade)

  3. Please dont laugh at me, well you can, but you dont have to tell me about it..... ????

I was with the mrs for 19 months, living here in thailand.  We applied for a UK visitor visa, and the wait was really long due to covid, Ukraine etc.

A few weeks ago the visa arrived at just about the same time we had a big argument.  A week later she has told me that she has left me, then she tells me she has met some french guy, and is heading with him to london on the visa.  She leaves the end of this month and will meet him there!!

Obviously i am gutted.  I want to ask you guys, is she allowed to do this, as we applied for the visa as a couple and i was her guarantor, and there was even a letter from me old mum offering us a place to stay etc during our visit?  What happens if she goes astray whilst in uk (very doubtful, but possible).... would i be resposible for her in any way?

I am thinking i should at least ask the french guy for the 8000 baht i spent applying for the visa, travelling to bangkok etc.  If he refuses, am i able to get in touch with the visa people and tell them i am no longer her guarantor?  i know it is a bit spiteful to do that, but i am <deleted> off and if i mess up her trip, so be it

    What do you guys think?

  4. the fish i mainly see in the chao praya is the sawai fish.  a type of catfish.  they sell this fish at the market, so it is edible, but i am not sure how tasty it is.

there are lots of lakes in and around bangkok too to fish.  more thai style ones, for 100 baht a day, and some farand ones where you can catch a larger variety of fish - carp, redtail catfish, amazonian arapaima etc, butthese are more like 1000 baht up

freshwater fishing in thailand is great.  i saw a 100+ kg  arapaima pulled out the other week.  gave the guy one hell of a fight ????

  5. Hi Guys, does anyone know the best way to contact VFS Bangkok re my girlfriend's UK visa please?

We have waited 7 weeks now, and were told we would have an answer within 6 weeks.

My girlfriend is on a facebook group re UK visas, and on there people say that using the paid for email enquiry system is not worth it, as you pay your money and then they just tell you to wait more.  Does anyone have a number that we could attempt to use to contact them?  There is no tracking system on the application website.

    Or an email address?

    Thanks in advance.........

  6. a mini van service used to run from outside Central at Udon Thani, all the way to the border.  Then across the bridge, and jump on a local bus on the laos side

  7. Hi Guys, after having covid, is it possible to get a recovery certificate from anywhere, even though my girlfriend and i did not go to seek any medical assistance?

I would like one for travel, but we did not see a doctor, and all we have as proof is lots of dated photos of our positive rapid flow tests.

I am guessing there may be some examination that could prove we are not lying about the recent recovery.

Any ideas how we could get a certificate please guys, as i dont want to be stopped at the airport and put into quarantine upon arrival if it can be helped

In a 17 yr. teaching career in Thailand, I can remember it happening twice, and there may have been more.  He will need an interim report card from the old school if leaving at a non-standard time.  I would presume that she will have to pay full tuition at both schools for the "broken semester".

thanks Allane......  do you also remember occasions where pupils were refused to join during the year, and told they had to wait until the new teaching year started?

Is it done on a case by case analysis you think?
