  1. good work crossy.  an interesting subject that i feel i should learn more about..........

we live in hua hin (often sunny), have a 4 bedroom villa with no trees around (so plenty of sun falls onto the roof) and have an average electric bill of 2000 / month (we dont use AC much).  We are connected to the grid through a 3 phase system, that feeds our small moo baan.

which system would be best for us and how much would it cost?

how many years of usage do you think it would take before we recouped our initial investment?

do systems go wrong much, and therefore need a lot of fixing?

we have had some cheap solar lights in the garden for a year or two and i have been impressed with their reliability and power

great topic mate - and thanks in advance if you can offer any guidance

  3. lazada is quite good for chemicals and potions i think - if we just knew the brand name of a good weedkiller, or even what it comprised of, i am sure it could be located on lazada using their search engine.

I bought glysophate on there before when we had a problem with weeds growing at the front of our house, but that would be too strong for the lawn's weeds

  4. Hi Guys - does anyone know of any good products available here that will help with maintaining our grass lawn?  Mainly interested in something that will keep the weeds away, but is still safe for the dogs.

We live in hua hin, and put the lawn down for the second time about 3 years ago, but much the same as last time, the weeds are slowly moving in and taking over.  The lawns are quite big so removing them all by hand would be a long process.  Any great weedkillers available that would help?

Also, any good lawn feeds available that would help to get the grass a little bit stronger and healthier?

Thanks in advance for any ideas / tips

  5. Hi Guys

we had our house built about 5 years ago, and in the last two weeks have started to have a problem with the electric.

Throughout the day, everything in the house will kind of pulse, like it is having its electric supply starved - ie lights will flicker, music amplifier will cut off and restart, fish pump will make strange noises etc.... even the light in the fridge flickers.  When something flickers it will happen throughout the house at the same time - so the lights in the kitchen will dim at the same time the lights in the living room do etc.  it can happen 4 - 5 times in a minute sometimes.

I have tried going through the control box / safety cut box and turning off / isolating one switch at a time and seeing if the flicker is still present, but still the house flickers.  This has made me think it has something to do with the external electric feed, rather than an internal problem.  I spoke with the neighbours tho, and they dont have this problem.  We live on a small moo baan - with 5 or 6 villas, with a phase 3 PEA transformer supplying the electric. (sorry if my terminolgy is all wrong)

We called the electric board, and within 30 seconds of my GF speaking to them, they said it was an internal problem. (brush off?)

I will go back to the PEA and get them to come and do a proper check, but i thought i would ask you guys if you had any idea whay could be causing this, or maybe you can advise what i should tell the PEA so that they come and do a proper inspection?

PS it does seem to be worse in the evening (when we are drawing more electric) and also (maybe) after a rainy day

Hope you can help - and hope everyone is well ????

Yeah, getting ED visas isn't an issue for uni students (even back-to-back).

Private language school to study Thai is I believe 1 year only. However, I have no idea if you can, for example, get two 1-year ED visas (not back-to-back), in a period of 5 years.

    @UKJASE
Is it a uni or private Thai language school?
