I assume you meant to write 400/800k (changed to that now from 40/80k).

Whether you have there for a year or only the required amount of time on the date you apply makes no difference to your application.

Some people use the money in the bank to live on and then top it up to meet the 2 or 3 month requirement before they apply for the extension.

I  heard the marriage visa this year is now 450K. (not confirmed)

  2. My Thai mate, was contacted by the scammer claiming to be a retiring female marine who wanted to send him money (15000000 Baht) so they did not have to declare it before retiring in Thailand.

The interesting thing was once they realised his English was limited they switched to correctly written Thai.

Fortunately he brought it to my attention and had ceased correspondence.

Throw the scammer (them) in the monkey house for a year or so then deport.

Thanks for the advice..yes I am on the aged pension from Australia. Just wasn't sure if that would be affected by my inheritance.

You are allowed to have aprox  $250.000 in bank (cash) without affecting your pension (single) . Also you can put it into your super A/C, then Centrelink will Deem what interest you earn against your pension of which your allowed to earn monies up to aprox $5000 without affecting your pension. Which is a lot of interest! hope this helps.

Thai price B200, foreigner price B20,000 plus public shaming with the RTP head honcho (no surgical masks, sunglasses, baseball caps, or makeup allowed)....

Also just getting seen holding any litter (even if walking in direction of the bins) qualifies foreigners for the fine.

What Bins. The ones that you may find are always overflowing.

More Bins with regular empties , for start.

That junk drink 'green tea' in bottles, or sold in restaurants mixed with ice, sugar and milk is so far removed form the real drink it's untrue.

Real green Tea is very good for health.. with lots of antioxidants.  You buy it same as you buy normal tea bags.. and add hot water.  No sugar or anything is the traditional way to drink it. You can also buy it as dried leaves.. and just add hot water.

I prefer hot Chamomile tea... no caffeine and tastes great... help with relaxation and sleep too.

Chrysanthemum tea is also a favorite of mine... I even add a fresh flower into it... but I am not sure it's actually got any health benefits or not.

I drink the 100% Safflower Tea Hot or cold.allegedly good for Detox and Cholesterol.

for those too lazy to actually .read the attached links .............it clearly states :      "according to their years of working life residence in Australia". This is calculated from the age of 16 years old.

To me this means to get the full rate age pension you must have lived in australia for 35 or more years from the age of 16yrs old ( it DOES NOT mention work).

Then it appears that AFTER you qualify for the age pension there is a 2 year timeframe BEFORE the full rate age pension becomes portable( ie, able to be collected whilst outside the country). After this if you live outside Australia you will lose some added concessions  such as free travel , electricity subsidy etc

Working life of 35 years from 16 is correct... Re the 2 year comment I retired march 30 flew out april 20 with a full pension and losing the supplements after 6 weeks ( I think it was 6 wks)  Also I was told that you have to reside in Oz 2 years prior to claiming the pension..Ergo, they put you on Newstart (dole) until the 2 years is up, going through all the rigmarole of the dole. I personally can not confirm the latter and not really interested .Cheers all

  7. Hi

I am trying to determine what statins preferably generic brands in Lue of Lipitor that are available in Thailand and their costs . I currently use an Atorvastatin (Sandoz) cant find here.

current forums are 2013 and I think there was some changes since re availability and costs ?

    Thanks in advance

    P.S Herbal info welcome also.

  8. My problem is hard water, i get through a new 35,000 Baht washing machine every 5 years

You need a "Catalytic water conditioner" I sold thousands in Australia, a compact 10 or 15 mm unit (dependant on flow) will do the job , A good one was from CARE FREE conditioners in Wagga wagga Aust . (Google for info)!

Or make your own from old Copper car radiators.

  9. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

Aussie is down nearly 20%, baht looking great,if you have baht.

Not so good sending money from Oz though , plus bank charges rip off. today's rate 25.5 was 30 once.

Tell me about it!!! bought some more over to stock pile this trip, will probably take back. Just use what I deposited last time at 30.

    P.S merry xmas all
