  1. What a character this guy, ( just watched a few other vids starring him) Some cars might be wrong( in his point of view) but the way he rides around in busy traffic.ermm.gif I think indeed LL2 he would not last long riding in Thailand, try that here with the some of the grey van/bus/cement-truck/tuna driver and.....whistling.gif

  2. Just a few more weeks! here some stats copied from a local news website:

What Are Some Stats About The Track and Complex?

    • The Circuit and complex cost over 2,000 million baht to build and are situated on an expansive 1,200 acre site.
    • The track is 4.554 km long.
    • The circuit features twelve bends of varying severity. Fortunately for spectators nine of those bends are very close to the main, highly impressive 50,000 capacity Grandstand.
    • There are two long straights. One is a whole km long. On this longer straight hair raising speeds of 300 - 315 kph are expected to be achieved.
    • The two high speed straights are joined by a tight hairpin bend. Therefore drivers will be accelerating to top speed and having to then negotiate an extremely tricky corner before entering the next straight..
    • After the straights competitors very soon find themselves in the technical section. This sits in front of, and can be fully viewed from, the main stand.
    • The technical section consists of nine bends some of which can be taken at 160kmh.
    • From the main grandstand, spectators can see the entire race track.
    • Overall, the track seems to have a great mix of speedy straights and serious skill requiring bends. Split second timing will be paramount towards the end of the straights and corner handling skills will also be tested to the max by the other parts of the track.
    • The circuit was designed by world famous, and considered world number one race track designer by many, Herman Tilke.

What Racing Can Chang International Circuit Host?

    • The circuit has been approved to host MOTO GP, F3, GT1, GT2 and GT3 events.
    • It can also be used for Formula 1 testing and it also meets FIA Grade IT and FIM Grade A standards

Can Us Little People Use The Track?

    • The great news is yes!
    • Members of the public will be able to enjoy the track first hand.
    • We are not sure of prices yet but its exciting to know that the track shall be open to us ordinary folk.
    • Courses for driving and bike riding are to be held, instruction being provided by professional racers.
    • Tourists can also take a ride on the circuit, being driven round by professionals

What Are The Up And Coming Events At Chang International Circuit?

    • The following events have already been confirmed :-
    • October 4th and 5th Buriram United Super GT Race.
    • October 18th and 19th Bobby Hunter Super 1 Race,
    • November 1st and 2nd Thailand Super Series Formula 5 & 6

  3. Frame weld quality is atrocious. For example have a close look at the pillion foot peg brackets. Style of the bike is very nice, but in this tropical climate I would expect the frame to fail in months...not years...

Worse then these termignoni exhaust welds?

  4. A video and pics. it's almost done!

Last week I rode by and tried to get some more info about the first Bike races ( November FIM Asian road racing champion ship) and track days but at the temporary ticket booth at the i-mobile stadium ,but they were to busy and stressed with the super GT.

I'm sure once the grandstand is officially opened, there will be special ticket booths and info about upcoming evenst. Now it looks like they too busy sort things out for the super GT to give proper info.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoV9tj49mMA&feature=player_detailpage#t=9

  5. GREECE !!! GREECE !!! GREEECE !!!!!

    Greeks take their time.

    They let beautiful moments longer.

    They are passionate.

Like their ancestors, Greeks are still thinkers (and often big talkers).

They live closer to nature than we do.

For Greeks, time with family and friends always comes first.

.. and they party like its their last day on Earth.

The Romans really loved it here.

    As did the crusaders.

    So did the Venetians.

Eighty percent of the country is picturesque mountains

    ...but the beaches are absolutely

    The towns look like this

The Mediterranean diet is from here.

Greek food is so much more than souvlaki and gyros.

Feta. The real, salty, creamy, crumbly stuff.

    Freshest. Seafood. Ever.

Figs grow wild. Lots of them. Everywhere.

Breakfast in Greece is something special.

    Coffee breaks are serious affairs.

    They make mighty fine beer.

Athens is one of the most underrated cities in the world.

Athens nightlife goes on till the wee hours every day of the week.

Athens central market is a wonderland of delicious food.

The Exarchia neighborhood in Athens will never gentrify and never surrender.

Greeks leave paradise intact, unlike their Mediterranean neighbors.

Over 1,200 stunning islands to choose from.

Most of Greece is hard to reach and thats a very good thing.

From May to September youll almost never see a cloud.

Mykonos is summers biggest beach party.

This unsuspecting island village is home to an even more debauched party scene than Mykonos.

Lesbos is a real spot and its beautiful.

Crete has more history and landscapes on one island than some large countries have.

Mount Athos is still mysterious nearly 1,000 years later.

The acoustics at Epidavros will blow your mind.

Rock climbing on the island of Kalymnos is some of the best there is.

Yes, yes, that famous sunset from the village Oia on the island of Santorini (Thira) is OK too.

    The mind-boggling monasteries at Meteora.

The Greeks saved Western civilization right here.

    This WAS Sparta.

Alexander the Great was from here.

Zeus once ruled the world from up there.

The oracle worked its magic up here on Mount Parnassus in Delphi.

    ...and Poseidon from down there.

Icarus would have seen this beautiful place just before he crash-landed.

    Theater was born here.

    Philosophy too.

Democracy was conceived here on this rock.

What more can one country wish to be Proud, as Greece is smile.png

You're Greek aren't you? You forgot to mention Greece was causing the eurocrisis..................just kidding.

    Agreed nice islands.and delicious food.

It's totally save to park your bike at the border at Mukdahan, just go to big covered carpark on the left side they will show were you can park your bike, next to a office and a small bank office is a bike parking guarded 24 hours, I once left my KLX there for 2 nights without worry, even left my bike gear ( in a plastic bag strapped with bungee cords on the back of the bike) Forgot the price though mayby 100 baht a day??

But why not take your bike into Laos? only need to take the green book ( in your name) and fill in some forms and your good to go.

Last May I combined my visa run with a bike trip through Laos great country! http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/727067-laos-a-trip-report-1117-may-2014/

Last I checked, no motorbike crossing of the Friendship Bridge in Mukhdahan. But the carpark you mention is safe and convenient.

I live in Mukdahan, what you say is true, you can not take your bike to Lao...leave it at the car park.

During my trip last May I entered Laos riding over the friendship bridge in Nong Khai, and returned to Thailand riding over the friendship bridge at Mukdahan. About entering Laos over the bridge at Mukdahan there are various reports, it seems like it's "the mood of the day" if the border officials let you ride over it. Some needed a paid escort. Or ask a somebody (for a few hundred baht) if he can load the bike on a pick up and drive it over.

I think if there to easy letting bikes over, the bridge will be packed with locals doing there shopping (or gamble) trip.

Check out the GT riders forum for lots of usefull info about crossing borders by bike.

  7. Thanks Dutchbike, I also enjoyed to read and look at the photos, very much.

If I may ask: My bike, a CB500X, is in my wife's name. Would you know what kind of document, paperwork I'd need to cross the border ?

Unfortunately we cannot travel together because of our animals.

As far as I know the green book has to be in your own name, but I believe a statement from the owner ( your wife) which states she's allowing you to take the bike out of the country will be accepted by the custom officials. I red this is also accepted in case of rental bikes.

  9. 2 multi cylinder bikes: One called the Dolmette is powered by 24 Chainshaw engines made for promote the German Dolmar chainshaw brand.

    post-143096-0-78414100-1410242024_thumb.post-143096-0-87809200-1410242026_thumb.

The other is even more weird a 48 Cylinder!!

    48 cylinder motorcycle engine.

    This is guaranteed not photoshopped.

It is a 48 cylinder, 4200cc engine made from s1/kh250 cylinders, by Simon Whitlock.

Each motor is basically 8 "s1 /KH250" cylinders bolted on to cut up standard casings, with a 8 cyl built up crank, in turn they are bolted to a housing, gear linked and driven thru a BMW road bike gearbox, as the bike is pretty long already it would be difficult to put a transverse drive thru a gearbox. It has taken almost three years of hard work and he has overcome some huge problems to get here - - where do you even start to think about building a bike like this? . . . Oh, by the way, Simon is not an engineer of any kind - he oversees the building of shopping precincts etc

Don't look at it as a bike, look at it as a pure feat of engineering . . . and Simon built a Nitrous injected, fuel injected, water cooled, supercharged H1 about 5 years ago! . . . . How will he top this one? He can't - WHO CAN? I think as you say, his next project may be reverting back to a small engine and gaining the maximum horsepower from it "

"The bike has a small 75cc "Donkey" engine undr the seat to start it."

"The ignition is by 6 x 8cyl E-Type Jaguar distributers."

"Oh, and not only does it run - but it is rideable - JUST! - the engine and box alone weight just over a ton! "

  10. In case you wondering how a seized piston looks like.... here are my 2 TZR pistons

Was it a premix synthetic oil or the same you use in your autolube?

From what I understand there is quite a viscosity difference these days with autolube oil being thinner

check out that thread I linked above if you like.

    Lots of good info there

The first time I seized it, was because of a mailfunction in that YCLS valve assy ( dodgy wiring) Since that TZR is just a runaround bike I switched to premix and diconnected the 2T pump and dumped the valve assy. The second seizure was ( I think) because I was experimenting with the mixture.

I now use fully sythetic 2T oil: post-143096-0-27783100-1409908990_thumb. 1:35, spark plug looks OK, still smokes quite a lot with cold engine and low RPM's

Use the same oil in my autolube 2T's and the premix ones.

I use in my garden 2 of those 2 stroke weed cutters/strimmers and they ran much better after starting to use fully synthetic.

Will check out that link thanks, always interested to read stuff about 2 strokes.

  11. On one of my 2 strokes ( TZR 150) I use pre-mix, but I find it quite unpractical, now I only use this bke for short distances so I always fill it up at home. On lower RPM's it also smokes quite a lot. experimented with different mixtures and find 1:35 ( 29 cc of 2T oil for 1 liter fuel) the best comprimise for this bike.

For a everyday/ longer trips bike I always would keep the autolube system.besides Yamaha YCLS ( Yamaha Computer Controlled Lubrication System) is quite a good system with not much smoke.

"The Yamaha Computer Controlled Lubrication System ( YCLS) supplies required lubricating oil to the engine according to engine speed using an electronic control unit and a three way control valve"

You are familiar with my issues and this has got me nervous of a seizure. Your auto lube pump appears to be modified or a later model which would prevent the failure i had. Im not even sure if parts are availble if i need a rebuild? I dont see anything computerized on my auto lube.

If i was smart i should buy a spare cylinder, piston and rings.

As far I I know those spare parts are easy to get. I seized my TZR twice ( due to lubrication issues) and here they stock oversized pistons 0.50/1.0/1.50... all the way to 4.0

On the drawing you see the Valve assy, which is ( in combination with the CDI) the computerized part of it, sometimes there's more then meets the eye on these "simple"bikes even the servo motor got a chip.

  13. Hi Thaiwi almost weekend smile.png, If you pick her up could you show that T-shirt bike to that builder/mechanic and ask him if he could make his version of that bike, with a manual Dream engine ( mayby a bit tuned) custom exhaust, stepkit etc. Nothing sure yet but thinking about it since this topic started ha ha.

  14. Haha, I'm not joking!

I wanted a couple for myself and decided to get some more in case any of my friends wanted one too. Still have a few left.

They're not as big as the one in your picture, but enough for 2 butt cheeks.

    PM me if you're interested.

A real Aussie black sheep biggrin.png
