  1. Man, those pictures made my mouth water...

What Yamaha is that with the Deltabox frame?!

I like that model as well, similar engine as the TZM/TZR and shares the meters/dashboard with them, but if I remember well without powervalve.

I don't know how it's called, sort of a Dash/Raider counterpart. I never saw them on the road, so I guess it wasn't a popular model.

Where abouts in khonkaen is the shop? might go and have a look what they have in stock, really after a suzuki raider 150, but a old yamaha TZM will do. thanks nev.

He,.. I missed this topic in February, nice original RX-Z you got there CQ... and yes i can confirm about that Yamaha dealer in KK, there pretty good, the older mechanics ( i believe one of them works there over 25 years) know a lot about 2 strokes bikes

b.t.w . I was that member who bought a brand new old stock TZM 150. ( february 2012) after a tip from you.

It still runs perfect and last November a friend of mine also bought one of those TZM's

here is picture from one the mechanics with my TZM.

  4. I recently made a trip to Laos, i wrote a report which you can find here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/727067-laos-a-trip-report-1117-may-2014/

Totally agree with Nikster the roads can be dangerous ( fallen rocks, gravel) so take it slow and don't forget to enjoy the ( stunning) scenery.

I think it's doable on an ER6 but an off road bike is more far more suitable for Laos.

Enjoy your trip it's a wunderful country.

  5. I agree with most of the posters here.... walk away from it, just looked at the pics and it just doesn't look right.

Second owner??? mayby on the current green book........ofcourse the seller is a nice guy, he wants to sell it.

I once bought an NSR150 from a nice guy, which was friendly enough to sum up all the things done/replaced on it, or better (what i found out later) which HAD to be replaced LOL

For someone with deep pockets and the knowledge/tools to work on the bike mayby nice "project" but for someone who wants a bike to ride and travel around, there are better choices around, even on a tight budget ( Ninja 250)

    Good luck deciding.

  6. Good luck - hope you find a nice one.

Thai language classified free ads will be the best hunting ground - it's not really an "ex-pat bike".

Still loads about in Bangkok - they seem to last forever - especially for a 2-Stroke. They do have a certain olde school charm - I reckon they will be a future classic like the Yamaha 400 singles.

Agree about the GTO's charm, and a GTO is on my list to add to my collection of "classic" 2 strokes, keep it orginal or it could make a nice cafer racer.

    OP good luck finding one.

  7. No problem buying tickets at the day of the match.

Agree with Puchooay don't expect to much ( quality of the football) although last season Buriram was TPL champion, the level of play is poor, even i can see that and i'm not an football expert.

But it's a nice evening out, nice atmoshepre, and the stadium is very nice.

Best seats Yamaha stand A2 A3 A6 A7 lower rows.

    Have fun.

  8. I understand the likes are not really likes, but still somehow i find it disrespectfull towards the victim posting that paticular picture, and would his family/loved ones really want to be confronted by his accident in such a rude way.

helping the rider by posting that picture???? the only help he needs at this moment is the best medical care there is.

The authorities should be able to find his family, and if not there always is time for a more official approach.

But i guess it all part of the modern, real life soap mentality nowadays and uncontrolable by the authorities.

  9. Strange to see it got already 763 likes on that facebook page, what's there to like, also i never will get used to the Asian way of showing these pics, Good you didn't posted the pic in this thread.

Feel sorry for the guy and hope he will be O.K. it doesn't look that good on that picture.

hope they find family/wife/GF soon, no ID/DL and the bike registration???

  10. A nice bike indeed, as most BMW's are, recently i was at the local KTM dealer in Buriram where i red some brochures and i was surprised about the amount of horspower these kind of Adventure bikes generate, for example 150HP for the KTM adventure, whow impressive but at the same time made me think do you really need that much horsepower on an adventure bike?. to me it makes no sense.

An adventure bike in the true sense of the word, should be more or less light and easy to handle in terrain.

A perfect example is the Yamaha XT 660Z Tenere.

I never understand a 300 kg adventure bike as well.

these are 90 percent asphalt and 10 percent rough terrain.

These made for touring on the asphalt in a nice, comfy and sporty fast way. Not for going into rough trails.

Some riders wants a lot of power on these type of bikes. Multistrada and KTM sells well all over the world.

Best bike for it in my book is kawasaki klr650 which i rode one before for sometime. an unbreakable bike.

If BMW sells this close to Multistrada, sure some people will buy it.

    Nice looking bike too!

I guess that's true, here in Buriram we have the Buriram United Riders club with a lot of these big KTM's GS's etc , they visit almost every Buriram United out game by bike ( mr Newin included) and i doubt it these bikes have seen must dirt.

In the that same KTM shop most of these bikes are maintained and the owner tolded me that mr Newin's KTM did an impressive 70.000km in just 1,5 years!!!
