  1. Sorry, but how am I baiting? This is a forum where members can share opinions. My opinion is that I think countries should mind their own business and not try to push their beliefs and values onto another, same like how we live in society. My neighbour is vegetarian, I’m a meat lover. Neither of us try to convert the other; that’s how we remain good neighbours with each other. I’m not a fan of the UN, some are not fans of BRICS. It’s a free world, we can believe whatever we like.
  2. Like I said in another post, maybe. But currently, lots of hurdles getting it mainstream. If it was profitable for both governments and manufacturers, I’m sure they would be pushing it much harder.
  3. In my opinion, governments should be promoting the use of plug-ins instead. This is a middle ground. Tax revenue will not take a nose dive, the electricity grid will have time to cope with growing demand and consumers need not worry about range anxiety lol.
  4. I don’t recall defending any country that invaded another. If you are referring to Russia, all I’m saying is that Russia saw NATO’s expansion as an existential threat and warned NATO numerous times over numerous years about continued expansion. I believe that the US instigated the war in Ukraine as a means of weakening Russia (US has a long history of fighting proxy wars) and if successful, will do the same with China (the writing is already on the wall with granny’s visit to Taiwan). NATO also wants to expand to Indopac. North Atlantic Treaty Organisation; see the irony? My belief is based on observation, common sense and independent research. Unfortunately these researches do not tie in with western narrative and will most likely not be allowed as reference. In any case, most posters on here would just dismiss it as nonsense as it doesn’t suit their narrative either (human nature).
  5. The question of tax revenue is an interesting one. How will governments replace this revenue from petrol and diesel? I wonder how Norway is handling this. Their personal income tax rate is only a flat 22% (https://taxsummaries.pwc.com/norway/individual/taxes-on-personal-income). Taxation system change is overly draconian; I doubt the population will accept this willingly. Increasing electricity rates are also unworkable. A possible alternative is to increase the road tax for EVs. But most governments are doing the exact opposite. Best way is to reduce spending. Cut military budgets to 0.1% of GDP. No one wants to invade UK or US; liabilities more than assets lol.
  6. Apart from the fact that it’s a Toyota (overpriced vehicles imo), I wouldn’t want to take a chance with this vehicle. Who knows what might happen down the road (pardon the pun) if you have a puncture or need to change tyres? Trust Tyre plus or B quik to tighten up the bolts correctly?
  7. Better yet, disband the UN. Totally useless and pointless organisation. My opinion.
  8. If she had made her speech in Thai, she would have garnered more respect from her own citizens and maybe even make some politicians sit up and take notice. Instead, she was obviously pandering to the west, for obvious reasons.
  9. Top 15 Countries with the Highest CO2 Emissions per Capita (t) - EU JRC 2020 Palau — 55.29 Qatar — 35.64 Trinidad and Tobago — 21.97 Bahrain — 21.60 Kuwait — 20.91 United Arab Emirates — 20.70 Brunei Darussalam — 17.95 Saudi Arabia — 16.96 Oman — 16.9 Australia — 15.22 Canada — 14.43 Kazakhstan — 14.22 United States — 13.68 Turkmenistan — 13.37 Luxembourg — 13.24 By this measure, the U.S. has the thirteenth-highest per capita emissions at 13.68 tons, while Russia is 20th (11.64), Japan is 26th (8.39), China is 28th (8.20), and India is 110th with a mere 1.74 tons per capita. Meanwhile, a number of developing nations occupy the top spots, largely due to less-regulated energy, industry, and transportation industries. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/carbon-footprint-by-country
  10. Obviously, you know nothing about the political system of China. Plenty of resources online.
  11. Can’t understand Hyundai’s thinking. The Ioniq 5 is sold in Malaysia, even though the charging infrastructure is nowhere as good as it is in Thailand. Having said that, demand far outstrips supply which proves that lack of a charging network is not a hurdle to owning EVs.
  12. As to independent news sources, most are cancelled. Only news sources citing the accepted narrative is allowed (in the west).
  13. Oh dear, that’s a bit of a problem isn’t it?
  14. Could be Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, Singaporean Chinese,, Malaysian Chinese, Indonesian Chinese, Bruneian Chinese, Vietnamese Chinese, Cambodian Chinese…How can you be sure they are from China?
  15. I’m not a medical expert so can’t comment on whether China is doing the right thing or not. Where is House MD when you need him.
  16. Bob, I’m sure you know by now why Thai men aren’t interested in being friends with farangs. If the Thais had the same attitudes, you wouldn’t want to be friends with them either lol.
  17. Why are these people so gullible? I doubt if even the Thais, with a much lower quality of education, would be so brainless.
  18. UK 42,963 cases, 27 October 2022. My daughter, vaccinated and boosted with western vaccines unfortunately among them. She doesn’t think that covid is finished in the UK.
  19. Makes sense. They are looking long term. The Chinese government with 5,000 years of civilisation is patient, if not anything.
  20. US 68,000 cases per day. China, 1000 cases leading to the lockdown. So China is not in the thick of COVID.
  21. Whether the numbers are truthful or not, the intent is to keep the number of cases low. Right or wrong, not for me to say but for sure they have their reasons. Those reasons (saving lives) are more important to them than the negative economic consequences.
  22. I’m pretty certain China has less deaths per capita than your home country. I wonder who’s the stupid one.
  23. Other than them, I’m sure there are lots of others that hates her guts. She has made enemies, and not just at home. But her attacker doesn’t seem to be blessed with much intelligence, judging from his actions and subsequent arrest. Just lock him up and throw away the key.
