Chao Phraya Princess enhances cruise services to boost tourism
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Now it seems that there is a 1 price for all. Personally, I like it for special days like Valentines or for a nice night out. I just wish it was easier to get to and that meter taxis were available -
E-cigarette manufacturers target students with new ‘toy pod’ trend
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Has anyone noticed the vapes are now linked CDs and movies used to be on Suk? They are showing pictures, but one of the salespeople are holding stock. The problem is that yes they know who is selling them but the brown envelope is big. The rules for vapes should be the same as the rules for alcohol, cigarettes, and Marijuana. No sale of any kind within 1000 meters of schools and no sales to anyone under the age of 18. Pemalty is simple they close up the store permanently. -

Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link faces major maintenance
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This is a forewarning about the SRT lines that they have opened on the cheap. You have to have the funding and a continuous maintenance plan. The keep prices down and this is new so it will not need work is a fallacy. Consider that with Condos, we have condo fees, and a portion is set aside for maintenance and upgrades. -
That's because when you go for the first time they don't know you. Then they get to know you.

Did you consider that maybe he just didn't have any. I am sure if you had asked after lunch he might have helped you. Timing is everything.

I noticed that a lot of universities are now accepting the Duolingo test. Correct me if I am wrong but not long ago IELTS was the gold standard. Where did this one come from, or is it a by-product of COVID?

Move Forward Dissolution Bid Part Of Thaksin’s Secret Deal
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I agree, but the LM charge and Yingluck are all things that the military can hold as their guarantee that there is no dissolution and then a joint agreement with MFP. The challenge that you have in the country is that the country people and the older people still remember the good days when they could count on certain parts of the system or a certain person to come out and help them. There is also the belief in the same quarters (again, 50 years plus) that the military has always come to the rescue of the country when there is a problem. Some people think that Thaksin has been beneficial and that the PTP is the only party that cares about them on their farms or villages. In BKK and larger cities, the elite have lost much of their hold and are desperately trying to regain it. I think that will not happen. -
Move Forward Dissolution Bid Part Of Thaksin’s Secret Deal
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I have a hard time believing that this will happen any time soon. Before this can happen, they need to take control of the Senate. Thaksin is playing the same games he always played. The one thing he has not taken into consideration is the military elite, not so secret weapon. COUP. Any change that threatens the current government will be met with art 112 in that the PTP in joining with the MFP have decided that they also want to make the anti-monarchy changes that would be unlawful There fore, they must go, and Thaksin, as the leader, must be charged. Remember that Tony has a Lese Majeste charge hanging over his head right now. -
The party may have a different name but it will be here. As to defending what is happening NO just stating that it is ot the first time and probably will not be the last. Eventually, hopefully, it all gets sorted as the different age groups and philosophy change.

Thailand’s casino odds looking up as House Committee wraps study
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is surprising the things that this government is doing to try to make people happy. The only problem is they are hitting a group of voters big enough to outvote those opposed. The funny thing is that even if they agree on a casino the outcome is going to be decided by the location that is chosen. Consider that if Chang Mai gets it, the north will be happy, but Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket will be up in arms. -
The challenge is that we have to change decades of military rule. Just like most things, this is not going to be easy, as the elite and military have been at it too long. Most of the older people have enjoyed the way it was. They remember that the military and monarchy have always looked after them. Just as it takes the PTP decades and still fighting for recognition it will take the MFP movement a long time. Eventually, they will both become more dominant and will take control, but it is going to be a slow process. Consider the timeline for England and all the wars it took in the country to get where they are.

The party will still be there either as an independent or under a different name. Remember, this is the same thing they did to Thaksin when he started, and he just kept coming back. Thai rak Thai 1098- 2007 People Power Party 2007-2007 Pheu Thi Party 2007 - present You also have to remember that schools are out, and students only have a little to do. Yes, it is hot out, but that will not stop the protestors. If this passes and is accepted by the courts, I think the water fights will start sooner than expected. Just what the government needs when it is trying to convince people to come to Thailand. protests and unrest leading up to Songkran. The joke of it is that they are not trying to get rid of the article. They are only trying to limit who can charge someone. How many times have we seen the PPP attack dog threaten people? Thaksin is coming up on charges do you really think the PTP wants this hanging over their head when that happens?

Paetongtarn Shinawatra: Thailand’s political sector’s rising star
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A hot looking Thai girl with money LOL The challenge is not her popularity it is going to be that of the circus or clown show call Pheu Thai. -
The whole idea was that the BJT and PPP would enact this and open it up, and people would tank them by voting for their parties. LOL then the truth hit that most people that toke are like the the late great Shel Silverstein They also fund out that those that vote didn't want it legalilzed. This is going to be like Vape and hooka. Yes, they are not lawful, BUT the main businesses already have doctors who will prescribe the correct prescription. A better idea might be to legalize it but register adn license the stores. Any sales not through these stores become illegal and lead to jail time.

Brothel bust: Thai asylum seeker facing seven years behind bars in UK
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sorry to say it happens under every government and every party. No one wants to change the rules so that Asylkum is decided quickly and the person allowed to appeal after their plane has landed in whatever country they come from and has been returned. Britain sure is taking it up the chute lately with government screw ups.
