As has been said, Many have extensions issued at far away Imm. offices. Anyone can download a Google image. But a hand-drawn map is unique to the person who drew it. That doesn't mean a hand-drawn map cannot be mailed to the far away agent but adds another level of complexity to the process.

Such as providing two photos for an extension and then having a digital picture taken at Imm office. To prove you were actually there.

--- and you think, a "hand drawn map is unique"?Let me laugh again. Everybody is able to produce 100's  of so called hand drawn maps. What a joke (of the IMMI-Office)!

You are not able to change a Google-map. It's reliable.

  2. I cannot but laugh, when I read how some members defend this nonsense=idiotic rule. It is ordered by the bureaucrazy, yes you must do it. :cheesy:. If the bureaucrazy would order, jump from the bridge into the huay/ditch before asking for staying another year in Thailand, they would do it.

If at all, a google map would be the best way to show where you are staying. It seems some IMMO's are not able to read such a map. It's nice to read that other IMMO's have some common sense.

Smart post. But a very simple question. If there was a law that you had to smoke 20 cigarette a day to stay in Thailand would you stay?

I fear the situation is actually worse than that.

Not at all here in the Pang Mapha Valley. Nearly dustfree, that usually will change in the middle of March (for ~+1 month).

  4. Refering to my last comment, the pronblems for both sides, the Thai tax offices and the foreign tax payers are immense.

Concerning my last comment, what will they do, if I transfer only a part of my "earnings" abroad to Thailand. Do they, the RD's, reduce the full tax I payed in my home country or only the proportionate part??? If YES, they would not respect my "homeland allowences".

Problems, problems ..... problems for the Thai RD !!!!  They would be unable to cope with the giant number of problems/questions, I'm afraid of. All the foreign countries have different tax laws.

Facebook marketplace is the new mecca for online thievery.  Do not buy anything off of FB that you can't see in person first.

Unscrupulous FB-Zuckerberg is only a money-fisher, nothing else.

Many years ago I would like to register, but stopped it immediately, when I saw, what he would like to know about me. I must not worry about abusing my personal details. Most important, I didn't die and I'm still happy without Facebook.

Firstly puck, it's ASEAN Now, not Asian now.

Secondly, I gather from what you have written that you haven't read much of what has been said thus far in the different threads, especially not that of the past 24 hours. The following link should explain most things, if it does not, may I suggest you read the simple tax guide that is pinned in the finance thread. Nobody is trying to break any DTA.

    https://sherrings.com/foreign-source-income-personal-tax-thailand.html

Mister Lister, I'm so sorry for my awful mistake "ASIAN Now".

And you think that I didn't read read all threads to the new Tax problem. Maybe.

But that is not the problem. It seems that YOU didn't understand my yellow marked text of the DTA between Germany and Thailand. There you can read (quote):

"... peonsion and other payments for the past employment .... shell be exempt from tax in the other Contracting State"

That means for me, if Thailand does't respect a DTA, then it is disrespecting internation law !

And what should has to be respected in Thailand: international treaties or selfish (Thai) tax law???  Acting against the DTA is breaking international law.  If Thailand doesn't respect the DTA, you cannot trust Thailand political and law system in the future.

In this case of Thai tax planing, how much has been transfered maybe a problem.  There are different ways to do it. When/If my German pension is transfered to Thailand it should be tax-free according to the mentined DTA.

BTW, how to improve that I only transfer a part of my German pension? And will it be recognised? The Thai tax-offices will be overextendet with all these complicated rules. Srettha does not yet know how many rocks will fall down on his head and his coalition.

  7. Most members of ASIAN Now are of the USA or GB and they wright in this forum what they think about the DTA.

I've tread the GERMAN DTA(DBA)in the German language, recorded in the Budesgesetzblatt in 1968!

The following copy of § 18,2  states it very clearly in  German, English and Thai language that German pensins i.e. are not taxable in Thailand.

Does the running Thai Government want to break this DTA=DTA ?

  8. If anyone only steps 1mm in direction to the articel 112 of the criminal code the "Constitutional Court" wakes up, considering only the letters of §§'s, but not the content. They don't act as a 3rd power in a state/democracy. They should be sent to London to learn what a "royal democracy" means. There are more states in Europe with the same (good) system.

Why does the CC not do the same with coup meakers, some parties etc? The list goes on. They are only concentrated on MFP and their "dangerous" members. Afraid of the future!

  9. Buy an AirAsia-Thailand ticket from CNX to Hua Hin (no stop in BKK). Take a taxi to the Takiaep Beach - but south of the Takiaep mountain. After crossing the river, take any of the streets/sois on the left side which are turning to the breach. There is a (big?) choice of Hotels and guestehouses not far away of the beach or just on the  beach. Many BKK-people on the weekends. Otherwise not overcrouded.

    Only one idea.

    14C tonight in CM

....... 12° in the Pang Mapha valley of the Mae Hong Son province. We are the winners :sorry:.

Our dogs sleep now on warm towels on our protected entrance. Our young funny dog-darling scratched on the door, and we let him in for sleeping on a warm blanket overnight. Yesterday we didn't react immediately, then he barked ... successfully!
