Personally, I've always found getting high a useful escape from the horrors of reality, even for the short periods it lasts for. Later added alcohol to extend the escape. Used to sleep like a baby after a few beers and a couple of qualudes. Time, society and laws made by people who shouldn't be making laws slowed my consumption levels but weed sure made it easier to tolerate stupidity. Since quitting everything but cigarettes I find I smoke twice as much, mostly because it requires moving away from people to partake. Seems most on here are always complaining about the corruption in Thailand and when someone with teeth starts doing something about it you switch sides and cry foul with those that ARE corrupt. OP - Depending on the amount you're talking about, I'd book a luxury suite on Viking Cruises or Carnival Cruises or a combination for a year. They're all inclusive (save gambling and shopping) and would only cost you around $5,000-$6,000 a month. Next, I'd book a seat/space on a SpaceX flight to the space station and stay a couple of months (would probably be bored by then). Since my wife and I live in her families village I would work with the village elders, the temple and the school to make sure all the children get a good education for free to take some of the burden off the families. Updated books, sports equipment and science equipment as well as good teachers cost quite a bit. With the elders and monks overseeing things it would hedge the bet against corrupt government directors as you could designate the school as private with 90% Thai management. (you would be the remaining 10%) Just some thoughts since you asked.

My wife and I are currently going through the process now. The ONLY 2 ways for her to live in the states for 5+ years is via green card and gaining US citizenship which requires a green card first. The people at the SSA office here told me that she can only claim my benefits for the rest of her life if she remains living in the US with a valid green card OR becomes a citizen and returns to the states every year. ALL time spent here on a tourist visa does NOT count towards the 5 years. It took us 1 year (with the help of a lawyer) to get her green card. (people have done it all on their own but 1 misstep and you start all over again) It also makes a difference on the forms filed whether you and she are in the states or in Thailand so research it well. (we found out we were doing it wrong which is why we brought in a lawyer) If you're going to do it here bring 100x the proof of marriage that you normally need at Thai immigration including pictures from your 1st date to last night's supper. Have 5-10 friends/family with firsthand knowledge of your relationship write support letters for you as well. I for 1, will never complain about "That 1 more form" Thai immigration asks for when we are done and finally move back home. Good Luck

another thought would be to get a new PS5 tower. They are generally built better than standard PC towers and can do all the same things. You can order them with Linux OS installed. They also come with the best internal workings as they're designed to be used for high speed graphics. Just a thought.
