Meanwhile, the North Korean regime exists simply because it suits China. Essentially I suggest because they do not want the USA's sphere of influence to come up to the Yalu River. If that worry ever subsides for any reason, then I should imagine that Kim III and his gang of psychopathic thugs will be dead inside a week.

That would be a shame wouldn't it now?

could very well be part of the trade deal still being worked out. Withdraw of life from Kim, withdraw of nukes from NK, withdraw of US troops from SK... :wai:

  2. A LONG time ago, there used to be a section/soi of bars owned by retired oil workers that was a couple/few blocks out the backside of soi cowboy. No idea if it still exists or how to find it as I don't live in BKK and haven't been there since around 2002 but, maybe the locals have an idea about its whereabouts. ????

Israel regards the entire city, including the eastern sector it captured in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed, as its "eternal and indivisible capital," but that is not recognised internationally.

Some people never get over losing. They sniffed out a plot to attack them by 3 contries, struck first, crippled the 3 countries and claimed the spoils. After 50+ yrs, isn't it time to find something new to whine about?

  4. It's my understanding that severance pay begins at 1 yr but less than 3 = 3months pay, 3yrs but less than 6yrs (iirc) = 6 months pay.

    @sensei

Jor – An employee who has worked for more than 10 years consecutively shall be paid severance pay for not less than 300 days at the most recent rate of basic pay or the basic pay received in respect of the preceeding 300 days in the case of an employee who receives his basic pay based upon his output

I agree that the US president is more than ceremonial, and the Americans would do well to pass a constitutional amendment to make the president merely ceremonial as with Ireland.

Ireland is/was/has been under the rule of a king (or 2 or 6) and the flip to having a president was purely cerimonial. America has never been ruled by a king and the only 1 that tried got his backside handed to him. A constitutional Amendment can not be passed the subverts the whole of the constitution because it would be overturned by the SCOTUS as, well, unconstitutional. :wai:

Reserve your spot for the wall completion cerimony today. ????

  6. I would make it a mix of private and medicare. I would also put a cutoff point at $1m per year income and up go private only (personal, not business) and add a flat deduction/copay to everyone earning $40k per year and up starting at $10 a month and graduate it by $10 every $100,000. ($40-$139k is $10, $140k-$239K is $20, etc.) That way there would still be quality doctors that would work in the medicare system. Maybe even make it a requirement to serve 5 years (example) upon graduation from medical school in return you have 50% of your student debt cleared while getting paid to practice medicine. If you do 10 years, you have 100% of your debt cleared. Could be an incentive to stay longer.

Just a few thoughts is all. ????

How about TV using a different photo than the the pothead with ganja tats on his face?....eg. Bill Clinton (although he didn't inhale or have sex with that woman), Barack Obama, or Bill Shorten (leader of the opposition in Australia) or perhaps some very ordinary and normal looking people from any walk of life from anywhere in the world.

or Kamala Harris who used to get so high in college that she was listening to Snoop Dog and Tupoc 7 yrs before they ever cut an albumn? Then sat in the CA. prosicuter's office and got high before putting people in prison for getting high. :wai:

Because that's what Immigration have stated.

If your retired, then where does your income come from?

I am not retired. I am married and working here. My quote from your OP was the 2nd option under "Married" covering "Income Method".

How many married people here derive their income from outside of Thailand (with the exception of actual retired people who chose the married visa/extention)?

What are you on about? The issue is whether Iran has nuclear capability or is developing it. What do the links you've cited have to do with that?

The "Issue" was whether or not Iran is a threat and breaking the treaty which the president said they are and the "Intelligence" agencies said they're not. They gave that briefing to congress a week before Iran unvailed it's newest, nuclear capable, long range missles capable of hitting US military targets in the area.

  10. UbonJoe, any thoughts or rumors as to when they'll get everything figured out for us folks that are married, on Non-O extentions, don't have 400k in the bank BUT DO earn over 45k a month? Have heard various stories about the finacial side based on which immigration office is visited. Don't they all ultimately go to Chang Wattana from where ever you apply?

Is a yearly trip to Savannakhet or HCMC going to be the (temperary) new norm for those of us that do not have seasoned funds in the bank? Is the Non-O, single entry from these places good for a year or are they good for 90 days that need to be extended at immigration in country?

If they're good for the whole year with only 90 day reporting then that's great. If they're only good for 90 days and need extended then that kind of goes full circle back to needing the bank funds.

Wish they'd create a 5-10yr visa for those of us that have been married for over 10 years. :wai:

Your wording is ambiguous ("I had 1 prior to moving here"). Does that mean had one baby or had a vasectomy? If vasectomy, why are you worried about pregnancy? In that case, better worry more about disease.

I had a vasectomy after 2 children in the states in 2 different mariages that didn't go well after children. Point of the post though is from reading numerous stories over the years of guys being emotionally, phycologically and/or finacially "trapped" due to having children over here.

@Wiseoldowl-I fall into the over 50 catagory now but didn't when I moved here 17yrs ago. My wife of 14yrs (here) and I are both carreer oriented and thus, don't want children. No, the issue isn't me or the wife, it's just pure curiousity as to who acctually planned for or thought about popping out kids in their waining years. When I used to come here for visits I would see the occasional old fellow pushing a stroller in the mall and think, there's a nice grandpa until I'd then see a young-ish lady come up and kiss him like he wasn't her daddy. I always thought to myself, crap, I hope that never happens to me (the kid and stroller, not the hottie and kiss). ????

It's a cyber crime and should be reported to the cyber crime unit. Regular police won't have a clue.
