Not sure if specifically for outside, but looks locally made. www.gymware.com
Thanks steelepulse i think that is more for indoors than outside nice but a bit
pricey for me I was thinking more of something Somchai would knock up in his
metalwork shop.

On the immigration list of docs, it states one can just go to room 3, ( in the back) bypassing the volunteers in the ground level front office.
Room 103 Sarah.

Fine, so I take it that bank book is not needed with the income method?
correct.

To be fair I did not need these -- but I do know that come are required to provide these items. I do not know why!
And on the extension copies it does say if applicable.

He is not applying at Phuket immigration.
The basic list is still valid is it not Joe?

The 800k baht will have to be in the bank for 3 months on the date you apply.
You will need a letter from the bank and copies of your bank book showing the the money has been in the bank for 3 months.
I don't think you will need but about half of the documents on that list for Phuket at your office.
Joe apart from the letter from the embassy/consulate and possibly the pic in front of accommodation
what else does he not require?

Orientfan you cannot extend a VISA you have an extension of your permission to stay based on retirement
more commonly known as a retirement extension, it is not a visa, and you will need the same documents
you needed for your original extension in July 16.
If this is your second extension then your original VISA probably expired a long time ago.
This may be helpful for your renewal?

Hi , i have a non-O retirement visa , was valid 1yr multi entry, I was in U.K. Longer than expected and just noticed it expired on 6th July (3days ago)
I have the required money in a thai bank to meet the Thai visa requirements..
Could I get a new retirement none-o visa issued in England?
Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appFlyingfox1 you do not have a retirement VISA because there is no such thing, you either have a
long term O-A visa which will allow you the privilege, during the term of the visa, to apply for an
extension of your permission to stay on the grounds of retirement, or you already have an extension
of your permission to stay on the grounds of retirement, it is not a VISA. This is often called a
retirement extension not a retirement visa. If either have lapsed or expired you will have to start
the whole procedure all over again.
If your current permission to stay was originally based on a non "O" 90 day then it expired long ago
but your extension can be renewed annually, if you remember to do it.

Sorry - I'm old - they used to call these things "message boards" - though I grant this is a bit more. No offense meant or taken. Peace.
I am old too Jack and the only message boards I am familiar with were usually up on walls in my workplace,
in offices or the crewroom, when I did work some years ago. Same here Jack no offence taken or intentionally given,
Cheers.

There is a PM (private message) function, when/if you only desire the opinion of one person on the board.
Jack I was merely pointing out that my post was directed at the poster I was quoting not you or anyone
else who are free to comment as they see fit, for which, in your case, I thanked you.
To what board are you referring?, this a thread on a Thaivisa forum, no board involved to my knowledge?

I think his point is that why are they asking for things that do not prove much if anything, because it would be easy to stand out in front of a place and have a photo-taken - not to mention photoshop. I would assume it is to "look like they are serious and thorough" - a form of theater, really - especially when you consider the 'agent' system component completely circumvents any actual verification/accountability of the whole process.
An extreme case of this sort of behavior is airline-screening in the USA; it looks intimidating, and it hassles and humiliates people, though every blind-test of it has shown that "actual bad guys" can sneak anything through TSA-Security nearly 100% of the time.
Thank you very much for your opinion Jack but I was not actually asking you, I was asking the poster
whose post I quoted.

ubj , no one doubts you on these issues; i do wonder however on this one, can so so easily be faked; yes i know i am trapped in the 'why-is-it-this-way conundrums (sorry)
And what is your point, yes it can be faked so what, some people probably do but why would you?
To what end? If what you present satisfies the immigration officer what is the point of your post?

I am with you. An Agency claims they do all this in country. However, they claim I need a 800,000 THB security deposit in a Thai Bank for two months, then I go to the US Consulate for proof of income or cash equivalence of 800,000 THB. And, maybe the health check and background check would most likely not be required by immigration. That's 1600,000 THB. I can handle this financially, but a security deposit of 800,000 THB. I am not even sure I can wire that lump sum in one transfer. Or how long the 800,000 needs sit in the bank.
I can't help thinking bkk3030 is right, you are making it difficult in your mind.
The 800,000 baht you are referring to is a prerequisite of the requirements to qualifiy
for a retirement extension, not a security deposit and you can use the same money
to obtain your non O visa not an additional amount.

Liberty9133 Your friend does not have a retirement VISA because there is no such thing,
what he probable has is an extension of his (temporary) permission to stay on the grounds
of retirement, it is not a visa and does not amount to a residence permit it is simply permission
to stay in Thailand temporarily for one year.
As far as I am aware there is no limit to the amount of personal items you may bring into the
country as long as you are prepared to pay any and all duty that may be due on same.
When I retired and had my 40 years worth of personal tools sent to me here in Thailand it cost
me 20,000 baht duty to import them, I was not happy but it was pay or lose them, why do you
think it should/would be any different for your friend?

There has to be an exam to check size of lens needed and from that hospital will order lens so there normally would be some delay (but if single vision do not believe very long).
Most decent hospitals, like BPH, keep a stock of standard sizes, multi and single only need to wait if
your eyes require something different or special. In that case the delay is only a few days to order and
and get delivery from Bangkok.

Thank you for the info. Do you remember as well the total time frame from eye examination until operation. How long did it take?
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectI have type 2 diabetes so I have 4 monthly check ups so I can't really remember the time from exam
to op, that, I presume, would be up to you, if you want to go ahead i would think your eye specialist
would give you the next convenient date.
BTW I had multi-focals fitted.

There is no 60 day reporting.
As far as I am aware all offices provide a receipt for 90 day reports.
At Phuket they have always made a point, with me anyway, to indicate clearly when my next
90 day report is due.

Chevy plans to stop selling cars in LOS. Trucks I believe will still be available. Poor service has been a long term issue here.
I find it hard to understand why anyone would purchase any vehicle made thousands of miles
away and expect the same service as good as Toyota gives, and they build much superior machines
IMO. They are not the worlds number one for nothing.

This is a direct quote from your post Deerhunter.
Who are those uneducated scumbags who walk into people's houses with shoes on?

Dear Topah In most of the civilised world it is perfectly normal to enter someones house with shoes on
and particularly in countries where the climate restricts such things as wandering around a cold house
in bare feet.
But in Asia generally it is normal to remove ones shoes when entering someones house but unfortunately
not all tourists or visitors to Asia/Thailand make any effort at all to avail themselves of the custom/practices
when visiting any country.
I believe it is more about cleanliness than anything else.
