  1. This is getting scary. Most of the time my entire body is hurting, every muscle, every bone. Every kind of movement causes discomfort.

Never heard of anything like that. I am afraid to mention this to the Medics, fearing they will classify me as a hypochondriac, or them sending me off to the nearest psychiatrist.

This sounds like a joke, but to me, the problem is VERY REAL.

    Anyone?

    Thx & cheers.

I have felt like this increasingly in recent years! It's not " pain ", but rather, soreness and lethargy and total lack of energy. Also, over the last 12 years since reaching 50 I never can sleep longer than about 2 or 3 hours and then have to spend 1,2 or 3 hours trying to get back to sleep again. Needless to say, it ruins my life.

  2. Hi all

I had once asked a long ass question about planing a trip around the FMP - but I have bad news - I cannot go during new years.

I am not sure its a bad thing either - New year's time is too crowded and things are a tad expensive.

But now the question is what is the best alternative time to go - I want to go after the winter/peak season but not during (or after) Sonkran - most shops are closed then.

At the same time I want to attend a FMP. So question is should I plan the vacation around the 2nd March FMP or the 31st March FMP

If I go around the 2nd march date, then the FMP will be early in my trip. IF I plan around the 31st march date, then the FMP will be towards the end of my trip.

Can the experts please advise .

I've seen full-grown asses but never a long one, and only Mr. Ed could ask questions, and he was a thoroughbred.

  3. It is hopeless Not just in schools. Everywhere! Even in the best shopping malls where they have sensor dispensing soap it is extremely rare to see any Thai or other Asians ever wash their hands. They wet their hands and then grab at least 3 paper towels. It is disgusting.

  4. I first came to Thailand, in 2006 to Chiang Mai. Also I have visited the South (Kuri Buri), Kanchanaburi, the north east (Udon Thani). But my heart is attached to Chiang Mai more than anywhere else in Thailand. So much so I wrote a book to promote Chiang Mai called [THAILAND'S Chiang Mai 21st Century Silk Road] in the UK and planned to move here permanently, after 10 years, now I am not so sure. In some ways I now wish I had not written the book. I read a lot about Thai politics, the governments so called efforts to reduce corruptions it calls graft. An English word it does not understand the meaning of. Graft means to physically work hard, not corruption. But it is the Thai Government that is leading the way grafting hard at an increase in the level of corruption with the 2 price system. One price for Thai and another for foreigners. Taxi drivers want to charge 200 Baht for a fare they charge a Thai 40 Baht for 1 or 2 kilometres and they don't want to turn the metres on.The price of 40 baht for a Thai and 400 Baht for a foreigner to visit a National Park. Then I say NO THANK YOU! Most other countries encourage tourism with special discounts. I know of only one Park that charges 100 Baht to both Thai and foreigner. This I gladly pay. Even some shop keepers try to operate a dual price system with foreigners.
An unfortunate fact of life is Thai governments see all foreign tourists or foreign residents as a rich charity that is there to support the Thai economy with endless amounts of money. Of course I see quite a lot of Chinese Tourists on the streets and they speak better English than most Thais. I do not see them in the shops, bars and restaurants. The shopping malls have mostly Thais and the western tourists are no longer in them in any of the numbers that use to use them. The atmosphere that was there from the tourists from many countries is no longer there.
China has over produced in parts of its economy that it could suffer an economic meltdown and their tourists could disappear with it. They have built many empty cities with no-one to live in them. As for the idea of 12 points of Thai Culture; it only has one culture PURE GREED. I hear the Prime Ministers statement of self pity that that Thailand is not a developed country. It has good transport infrastructure as good as any western country, decent roads and in some ways more efficient. They have lots of new cars like any western country. smart phones, computers, HD TV's, washing machine, plus many other electronic gadget and goods you find in other developed countries. Unlike Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia it cannot any longer be regarded as a third world country
The Thai GREED has made me very cynical and the Politics make it impossible to invest in Thailand because it has only one law. The law of stupidity. Yes all countries have laws in regard to business, But they don't all indulge in the racist deceit of restrictive Thai protectionism.
I use to spend very freely when I came. Now and in future I will always attempt to spend less in an attempt to attack Thai dishonesty and corruption. Instead of spending 150,000 Baht in 3 months. This time I will spend 60,000 Baht and take some of my money home with me. After all it is quite easy to buy a meal for 40 Baht in a Topps supermarket restaurant. The pleasant tourist environment that use to be here has been disappearing with this greed. Western tourists are not stupid enough to keep putting up with this economic greed. That is why I will give the next 3 month trip a miss.

You are a pretty bright bulb ( wink wink)
maybe after another decade you'll finally figure out the whole thing!

  5. And you told some woman about it?! You really need to be talking to a psychiatrist instead. But my guess is that you probably already have done that for years. Needless to say, anyone else would jump at the chance in a split second to pick up a doll like what you described. I mean if he really was THAT cute and handsome. I have never picked up any of the money boys who cruise me in Bangkok

Although I did get a few in Pattaya a few years ago. Each time I go back there, there aren't any really cute ones anymore. Not cute enough for me anyway, I am particular. Good luck to all of us!

I have now received another email from 'Chris Williams'. They have created a html page with my photo pretending to be me defaming the king. they also included my address and work address on the page.

I am genuinely scared now in case he makes it public. What kind of crazy guy does this??

    What should I do?

Before going to the police,  I would definitely first go to your embassy and inform/ ask them about reporting to the police.

  7. Me too. I just now received the same email. So i googled his name and your post showed up. I have never criticized either

king. Many of us foreigners do express our horror when reading the daily news of government pronouncements on the prachathai news articles posted on Facebook but everyone knows about the law.
