  1. NEVER depend on a shop selling frames to make an eye examination.

That mistake that cost me 10,000 Baht

I went to Bangkok Hospital, got an eye exam and written prescription.

Then I ordered a pair on-line from Zenni Optical ... flexible titanium progressive lens and they look better than what I see in shops. This cost 3,000 Baht, no import tax ... shipped from Hong Kong ... about 10 days from placing order to my post box.

I have been considering and hesitating to order from Zenni. Because I'm just leary about buying expensive progressive lenses online. Although they have assured me that they are high quality. They said their best quality ones cost about $200. But yours you only paid 3000 baht for. Are they high quality do you think?

  2. I highly recommend Dr. Suntchai Wirosaengthong, at BNH Hospital on Soi Convent in Silom. I had the exact same problem and he has treated me for it since last year. He works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday and Sundays. Tel: 02-686-2700. Email: [email protected]

Please give some more info , like, what is the treatment, how often, how much does it cost ?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. As usual I go for Pramonkutklau military hospital, the urology department has 5 specialist urologists led by Dr Bandit. I have had treatments (for something different)there for some time with no problems.

Have also heard good things about the air force hospital at Don Muang regards urology.

These are particularly good options if budget is a consideration, 50b for a consultation.

I can't find it on Google

  4. Well, being a democratic socialist (Go Sanders!) not so happy with the book. What does surprise me, or perhaps not, is the change of tone concerning the illustrious PM. Not so long ago he was being lauded to the skies by people here. Perhaps things are not turning out so well?

I, like many others, was relieved when the farce that was the Yingluck "government" came to an end, and wildly optimistic in the very early days after Prayuth took over.

That optimism soon faded, along with Thailand's democracy, economy, freedoms, and international reputation.

."wildly optimistic in the very early days after Prayuth took over." ? I mean, how could anyone be" wildly optimistic" when a military junta dictatorship takes over the government of a nation ?!

  5. One has to wonder what goes on inside the mind of Prayuth. If he sees Communism as the best model of governance to aspire to then the people of Thailand are in for bad times. Perhaps he envies the degree and sophistication of Chinese corruption. Or maybe it's the rigid censorship that exists in China today. Regardless, Thailand is definitely going to digress and be left further behind in terms of development and individual freedom. Thaksin sold out his leadership to greed and corruption, but this guy is selling out the entire nation to the Chinese!

Communist ? In what way is China's governing fascist oligarchy communist?

  6. What is wrong with the PM because he is not doing his job worrying about the slave traders or all the not regestaired guns in Thailand. Nothing said about the Thai Mafia or the fishing or the water crisis in Thailand. Do nothing but try to look like you are really concerned. These shows happen in every country around the world. And only one PM does not like. Maybe to old to keep up with the modern times!

It has nothing to do with his age, Sharpy !
