  1. Another boy is beaten to death:

    http://prachatai.org/english/node/6485?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+prachataienglish+(Prachatai+in+English)

" After learning the autopsy result, Suda, who earns on average 1,000-2,000 baht a month from paddy farming and basketry, borrowed 6,300 baht from her neighbours to seek justice in Bangkok.  "

    Here is an interesting article:

    "

A monarch seeks to abdicate: The state of the state"

  2. Thanks for the replies , but in fact, I knew all that already ( about Thailand ). I suppose it only is useful in other countries. I know someone who is doing his CELTA right now at IH on Silom Road. He told me a few months ago he was going to do it. He got really good

job offers Malaysia (and maybe elsewhere) for CELTA holders only.

Of course, British Council in Thailand too, will only take CELTAS

  3. Guess the police in checking his mobil phone found other evidence that may be used against him in a court

of law. He was in court today, so charges have been filed. It was also mentioned he was held and not released on bail. He may be in deep sh..before its all said and done.

" evidence"......"He was in court today,".....

Kids get prosecuted for harmless playing around, but real criminals , like mass-murderer politicians ( Cheney, Bush, Blair, etc.) get off scott-free and get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to speak at events. What a great country/culture !!!

  4. I am surprised nobody is talking about taking this monster to answer for his crime. I am sure the victims would want to see that "it" is given the worst punishment.

Tried, convicted and punished all In one short post.

Good job, regarding an accused person who denies the charges, with a plausible alibi.

The "hang 'em high" brigade out in full force today. Probably should stop salivating until more comes to light--the normal, civilized route, eh?

    You're right!

And I tried to say something about these people , but my comments were removed.

  5. (1) The age of consent in Thailand is 15, so if the men were over that age, then there's no crime in their having sex (assuming it was voluntary).

    (2) The accused states all his partners in the photos were over the age of 20.

Personally I think there's sufficient doubt here that the ongoing witchhunt is a tad premature.

    Exactly !

And what is this crap about "So "barebacking " little boys " ?

    Please, get a life!

  6. Try http://www.thailandchiropractor.com/ (Dr Mark Leoni)

    Works for me.

Located in Ekamai. Practice is closed for annual holidays but will re-open in a week or two.

I tried this guy a few years ago. Total waste of time & money.

I have tried 4 in Thailand including one in Pattaya. They are all a waste of time & money.

Sorry for the OP as I cant help you but I know what you are looking for.

    "

I tried this guy. Total waste of time & money." Me too.
  7. Interesting topic. I offer that many of the old folks have died or otherwise been incapacitated. Older gays had unhealthy lifestyles. They drank and smoked heavily and used alot of drugs. The younger generation, both hetero and gay have much healthier lifestyles. They don't want to sit around in bars smoking. They are out being active, meeting people and using social media to stay active.

The world changed for the demographic of males who used to run to Thailand. People under the age of 40 especially those 30 and under have grown up under much better circumstances than those of the generation that came before them. They don't need to go to Thailand to meet people or to be happy. There's a 55 year old guy at one of my suppliers, and he's happily married with his partner in their downsized condo living well. They'll visit Asia, but wouldn't dream of leaving their western country now, and the old guy has told me of the troubles what he went through as a teenager.

Oh sure, there are still issues, but for the most part, being gay at 25 today is nothing. Most people don't care. Gay, or straight doesn't mean anything to them. I see it with my own family where family of the hipster designation are overly sensitive to being discriminatory etc. There is a trickle down effect. Gone is the need to lie and live a life of deceit. I don't expect emotional stability from alot of the older gay men because many didn't have it. There is a constant criticism of Thais for being liars, but boy oh boy, some of these old gay guys take the cake on that. 70 years old and still embellishing tales or playing the victim card. It's a rarity now for the person who's grown up in Leeds or Bruxelles or Brisbane etc. They don't have to, because no one really cares what they do.

Look at the argument that's going on in the USA today: It's all about access to the loo. 25 years ago, you couldn't even say you were gay without getting a beating and now they want to designate gender neutral loos. Yes, I know there is a fight in some places over it, but the fact is, there is a discussion. My point is that gay people under the age of 40 or even 50 don't need old style forums anymore. They have their grindr, instagram, tinder, facebook programs and they know how to use them. They move fast too. There is much more acceptance of different people today than there was 25 years ago for the simple reason that the west is so much more diverse. Kids grew up with different ethnic groups, with mentally and physically challenged kids in their classes and have lived through divorces and even their parents announcing they were gay etc. The end result is that the need to identify and associate exclusively with gays is becoming unnecessary. It's going one before your eyes. Gay clubs are becoming passe for the under 30's and they will go wherever there is a good vibe. It follows then that gay forums will have slow deaths as the demographics skew more to the older demographic. Ask your younger friends: They use Line, Facebook etc. old school forums are of no interest. They write 10 words or less usually along the lines of Oh snap you iz cheezy fail #douchefail.

What the hell are you talking about, junior ? What a bunch of meaningless, mindless nonsense, unless you're talking specifically about very stupid people.

  8. NEVER depend on a shop selling frames to make an eye examination.

That mistake that cost me 10,000 Baht

I went to Bangkok Hospital, got an eye exam and written prescription.

Then I ordered a pair on-line from Zenni Optical ... flexible titanium progressive lens and they look better than what I see in shops. This cost 3,000 Baht, no import tax ... shipped from Hong Kong ... about 10 days from placing order to my post box.

I have been considering and hesitating to order from Zenni. Because I'm just leary about buying expensive progressive lenses online. Although they have assured me that they are high quality. They said their best quality ones cost about $200. But yours you only paid 3000 baht for. Are they high quality do you think?

  9. I highly recommend Dr. Suntchai Wirosaengthong, at BNH Hospital on Soi Convent in Silom. I had the exact same problem and he has treated me for it since last year. He works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday and Sundays. Tel: 02-686-2700. Email: [email protected]

Please give some more info , like, what is the treatment, how often, how much does it cost ?

    Thanks in advance.
