everyone knows that the use of the phrases marriage visas and retirement visa actually mean extensions, so what is the point of your post?
The only people who know that are those who are as confused as you regarding the important differences..
A couple of examples:
If someone says he has a marriage visa but is getting divorced, what does he need to do about his visa?
If someone says he has a retirement visa, does he need a re-entry permit if he wants to t ravel outside Thailand for one week and then return to Thailand?
Since "everyone knows" what they mean by marriage visa or retirement visa, why would there be widely different answers depending on what they actually mean?"

Yes. What everyone is really interested in in reading about is how someone was on a plane that wasn't full. Incidentally, I doubt even in the best of times that 1000's of Chinese tourists flew to Thailand from Manchester every day.

PS I doubt everyone hates you. It takes awhile for even a small percentage of people here to get to know you well enough to care about you that much. You may be confusing hate with indifference.

I'm sure the police simply confused you with one of the many retirees who indicated that they Value public exhibitionism and a raucous retirement.
Did you carefully fill out the form indicating how you preferred being investigated by police.? The range of fetishes catered to. is impressive.

You get a lot of wrong information on this forum. I have just changed from a retirement Visa to a marriage visa. It was very easy and probably only took a few minutes more than getting my normal retirement Visa
"You get a lot of wrong information on this forum."
Such as posters referring to "extensions of stay" as "visas."

The Bank will know what to write, but you must get the letter on the same day as you apply AND draw cash out from the ATM AND then get your bank book updated all for that day.

Even in Thailand not all banks require a withdrawal to update bank book.

If you do not update your bankbook frequently enough, the system collapses(merges) a whole lot of transactions into one entry. It's ridiculous.
Yes I understand that, but he made the transactIon 20 days earlier. I thought recent transactions were still printed separately.

Hi , about 20 days ago i deposited 400k in my account as usual as every year but i forget to update my book bank today after i updated date is less than two months and the machine update my book bank like everything together , is this a cause of any problem
Whenever you update your bank book, the date the deposit was made should be shown in you bank book or am I misunderstanding your question?
i only update my bank book once a month, but the dates for any transactions are dated when the transaction took place, not the date the book is updated.

you try to tell Immigration officers 'it's voluntary no charge / no income' then they won't believe you.
Not a question of being believed. Performing work for which you are unpaid can still require a work permit. You could still be doing something that would otherwise provide paid employment for a Thai citizen.
Immigration officers don't issue work permits.

Amazing how many are still ignorant of the rules.
Many people on TV take great pride in flaunting their ignorance and become very annoyed at any attempt to enlighten them.
Try explaining to someone that he has an extension of stay, not a visa, and the unwashed masses wielding pitch forks and torches will surround you.

So why did you ask:

why not ask the people who claim that's what they're doing? Also ask them if they are legally employed and enjoy the conditions of their employment.
If youve you've been here 15 years and want to change your career, what have you been doing and why change?

Dont worry they will catch up in time... Wait for your next time you apply next year, THEN they will check your ou, and if the money havent been there they might refuse your new extension next year. So just play safe and let the money stay where they are.

There wasn't a post from someone who had an extension based on investment. During the year he changed his investment to something other than what he used to get the extension.
He went to some immigration office to get another extension at the end of the one he had. His documents, were checked, they spotted the change and told him that when he changed the investment he effectively cancelled the extension he had. The officer said from the date he changed the invest and therefore cancelled his existing extension, he was on overstay.
Don't know how or if that was resolved, but the point is that if you fail to comply with conditions set for your extension, it may not result in simply being refused your next extension, you could take a hit on your current extension retroactively.

It started with Soi 6, now I heard no WS is allowed.
I think the comment they stay on the ship most of the time is pretty much true nowadays.
In years past I've seen them well east of Second Rd in song Taos or heading out to Jomtien. Always very well behaved.

I thought they came to Pattaya once a year. Have had friends come here complaining they would never come again with all the sailors around. Prices tripled even of you could find a girl. Maybe they dock at Rayong or a larger port?
They may anchor aways out or possibly Laem Chabang. .
yes the sailors have come to Pattaya often. Their presence is impossible to miss, but no US Navy boat is going to DOCK in Pattaya unless it's a dinghy.

What we did was buy about six reusable bags. We assume someone else put them in the car trunk/boot, which of course no one did.
When we go shopping a store employee puts everything into a shopping cart or two, loose. These items are then individually placed/dropped/lobbed into the aforementioned trunk/boot.. when we get home someone finds the reusable bags, brings them to the car port where we take everything out of the car boot/trunk and put everything that's fragile or squish-able into the bottom of the bags which we haul into kitchen. The dog helpfully locates things that didn't survive intact.
its more art than science, but it's becoming a well honed routine.

How many US citizens entering Thailand wiht US passport avail embassy services in Thailand?
Fewer services offered to which one can (successfully) avail oneself since they killed off the income letter & ended consular visits to some locations and some services that are available cost extortionate amounts for the two or three minutes it takes them to stamp a piece of paper.
No need for brown envelopes, they charge you the tea money over the counter and it goes to partially pay their generous salaries and allowances.

Anyone seeking medical advice on TV must already be delirious from fever.
Reading through the first page of posts, it really is a case of the blind leading the brain dead. It's a miracle that Darwin's survival theory hasn't come into play and culled more of the farang population.
