Most private hospitals at least have their own Advance directive ("Living Will") forms and it is advisable to compete this if there is a specific hospital you use, even though you also have a generic directive.

Recommendations for blood/urine testing in Pattaya
Sheryl replied to how241's topic in Health and Medicine
Blood and urine tests can be obtained at a lab such as Lifecare http://lifecare.siam2web.com/ Or, this middle (2,950 baht) package at Jomtien hospital contains all that is needed in terms of blood/urine tests with chest Xray, EKG and stool test as well except for PSA, which you would have to add as an "extra".https://www.jomtienhospital.com/en/annual-check-up-packages.html However at 69 you should also get screened for cardiac fitness/coronary artery disease. You could ask at Jomtien about adding on an Exercise Stress Test to the check up package. Or, this package at Phayathai covers most of the blood work you'd want (just need to add on PSA) plus EST as well as cardiac calcium score. https://www.phyathai-sriracha.com/product/โปรแกรมตรวจสุขภาพหัวใจ-4/ OR this one same but only EST https://www.phyathai-sriracha.com/product/โปรแกรมตรวจสุขภาพหัวใจ-3/ For colonoscopy, BPH has an excellent price package no on offer, 19k including polyp removal (but nto clear if that also includes pathology) https://bangkokpattayahospital.com/product/gastroscopy-colonoscopy-packages/ As going rate these days in private hospitals is 25K+, this is an ecellent promotion. Valid till end of Septemvber -

The scammers are attacking this forum - this is not a drill
Sheryl replied to nglodnig's topic in Forum Support Desk
The need to make an immediate post is quite often the reason for joining as a member. After all, one can read posts as a guest; it is only to post that being a member is required. Many people read the forum for years and join only when they have a post they want to make; others find the forum during an online search on an urgent matter to they need to ask about. Making that difficult would discourage membership. Thread moved to Forum Support. -

Kindly use the report function for any posts you think ard scams. There is nothing we can do with blanket comments like this unlinked to any specific post. -
There are some IOs who demand bribes for routine services that should be free. Even filing of 90 day reports. Asking the "reason" does not help. You end up with your transaction, whatever it was, denied. My office always just says "admin fee" and refuses to issue receipt. Arguing is futile. Just be glad yours is not like this. Some (a minority) are.

A number of posts violating forum Community Standards have been removed along with replies quoting them. Most were removed because they were flaming, bickering or baiting. A few were removed for making what at this stage are completely unsubstantiated (and in some cases libellous) accusations. -
Bickering/flaming posts have been removed. Please keep it civil.

It's rupture, not rapture. And of tendon, not muscle. Every case is different in terms of best management and there is no substitute for a review by a top shoulder specialist. I suggest your father-in-law consult Prof. Mason Poramathikun who can be seen at Vajira Hospital on Mondays morning and on Tuesday afternoons https://www.vajira.ac.th/content/6477421adf48cb66bbf8445c Prof. Mason can also be seen at Bumrungrad but will cost more there The "30 baht" scheme will be free and will work eventually, but will take some time to work his way up the system, they will likely try to fob him off with anti-inflammatories first before referring him to a specialist. If Prof. Mason believes surgery is indicated It might be possible to get a letter from him to that effect asking your FIL's 30 baht hospital to provide a referral to Vajira. No guarantee but worth a try and if possible to get, it would expedite things.

Moved to Health forum. In addition to Dr. Oat (probably the most prominent chiro in Thailand with excellent credentials) , many members have used Mark Leoni https://doctoroat.com/ https://www.thailandchiropractor.com/

Actually the cheap tests there initially led to a wrong diagnosis altogether

Got it. It was your verb tenses that confused me. Sorry for your loss. What a tragedy. -
Support for 7 year old girl rape & murder case
Sheryl replied to ncc1701d's topic in Central Thailand
I was referring to the statement that the girl was murdered as an error, not that you plan to adopt her. Obviously she cannot have been murdered if you plan to adopt her. -

Support for 7 year old girl rape & murder case
Sheryl replied to ncc1701d's topic in Central Thailand
I assume that the "murdered" part was an error, since you plan to adopt the girl? In any case one can only hope the hearing on the 10th will be just a formality. Can your GF not attend? -
The doctors I have recommended are at the Samitivej Sukhumvit branch. Click on the links I gave and you can make an appointment online. Samitivej has a particularly well developed pediatric service with pediatric specialists of all types.
-
In post #3 I already gave you recommendations of 3 specialists in pediatric dermatology at Samitivej Children's Hospital. I have since verified that all of them are female. There are also several specialists in pediatric sallergy/immunology at Samitivej Children Hospital. Female ones include: https://www.samitivejhospitals.com/doctor/detail/nuthaitip-kashemsri-na-ayudhya (Us trained including at Harvard) https://www.samitivejhospitals.com/doctor/detail/pantipa-chatchatee (also US trained) https://www.samitivejhospitals.com/doctor/detail/suruthai-kurasirikul (also US trained) For your wife I suggest one of these dermatologist at Samitivej: https://www.samitivejhospitals.com/doctor/detail/punyaphat-sirithanabadeekul https://www.samitivejhospitals.com/doctor/detail/jitlada-meephansan

As I said before, these locally made ones are too cheap for there to be any market in counterfeiting them. Brand name valium yes, there are fakes, but not these.
-
On the contrary, he has explained that while he would prefer the less expensive government health care route his wife and daughter object to the longer waits.
-
A stress test alone would not include ultrasound (echocardiogram). That is a separate test. I could advise you better if I knew what your issues were/why you think you need an interventional cardiologist
-
Hep B Vaccine schedule is: Birth 1 month 2 month 4 month 6 month
-
The best interventional cardilogist in CM is Dr. Thanawat Benjanuwattra. Nowadays only at Bangkok Hospital. Another well recommended one is Dr. Pattarapong Keelapang who is at CM Ram Hospital. I can't give a recommendation specific to McCormack, sorry. Their website listing of doctors does not function well and I have never heard any feedback on any of their cardiologists.
-
I live right near there (using south side entrance in Prachinburi) Sometimes get the Thai price showing my pink ID and driver's license and sometimes they refuse. Unpredictable.
-
Your list is missing one: Hep B vaccine 2nd dose (3rd if counting the birth dose) should also be given at 4 months. Assuming your child is a Thai citizen, except for possibly the pneumovoccal (IPD) vaccine these can all be received free of charge at any government hospital or health center. For IPD you might need to go private. Pattaya Memorial Hospital is usually the least expensive private option in Pattaya itself. Another good private option if willing to travel a bit is Phayathai Sri Racha hospital. Call 037--317-333 for costs

There is no "embargo". Nor any conspiracy. Just free market economics thus far unmitigated by any governmental or charitable foundational involvement. It is a quite new vaccine, first received US FDA approval only 2 years ago. The manufacturer had a real struggle producing enough to meet the demand in the US market for the first year after it came on market and there was a serious shortage in US initially.. . Gradual expansion to other markets began only last year. In time it will be available in more countries and price will be less. How much less depending on how well countries negotiate and the anticipated size of their market among other things. I would assume it already costs much less in China. In Thailand the constraint is the cost to the manufacturer of applying for and maintaining registration vs. low market demand (government health schemes don't cover it, and are still struggling to finance care for life threatening conditions in the elderly). Zostavax was recently pulled off the Thai market due to insufficient sales (a Korean made equjvalent, Skyzoster, is still on market).
