If that's a permanently "on" illuminated nameplate, or it lights up with the brake lights, not just as an additional reversing light, it's illegal and adjusting it's brightness so as not to annoy following drivers would be academic.

Showing a white light to the rear of a vehicle (except when reversing) is not permitted under Thai law or internationally ratified vehicle lighting standards.

Thankyou for the Thai Law Information, The question remains the same, if you get stuck on what is legal or not, try imagining this LED as being Inside the Car as a pretty LED display for your young daughter in the rear of the Car then . . . .

  2. I have also posted this in the Car section, but maybe people here might have a better idea, worth a try

Does anyone know how to dim a rear LED Car Plate like Photo attached for an example ?

I know there is a fair bit of discussion on how the brightness of these things annoys/affects other road users, not debating that, just if i purchased a set how could i dim these LEDs so as not to affect/annoy anyone ?

Googled a few things and seen that you can insert a resistor into the positive feed to reduce the brightness, not been able to work out exactly what i would need, or find any resistor on Lazada to order and try ? although there appear to be lots of listings, would need to know what exactly to buy, or a few to try
    Any help please ?

How professional are you looking for?

I think you will have a hard job, battery powered cctv cameras tend to be motion detector cameras they don’t stay on all the time.

It’s a bit cowboy, but have you thought of rigging a gopro to a battery pack?
It will be rugged enough for the job. The only thing you need to check is the card capacity, they usually only work with cards to a maximum size.

Not looked yet, but if Gopro has ability to be plugged in, again this may be possible, but then the problem of power supply routes from Drill Power pack etc
Ease of use and set up is critical here also

Not need really professional as such, but a difficult environment, 24 hour recording in an "Underground" Environment (an underground mine, Drilling Activity) to be used in case of any incident and maybe even to look at activities accuracy relating to procedures . .  Did consider (still am) a Gopro but read many problems with 24hr recording for heat etc, the environment is very warm and humid also, can get power to device but only 6/12/24V etc not 240V, the more i think of this the more difficult it seems to be, as Camera/s would be mounted high, so restricted access to remove SD card/Maintain etc, So now considering Cameras powered by POE from a NVR or similar, but doing that would need to look at NVR being maybe mounted in a waterproof enclosure and also with something other than a 240V Supply to Power that . . The more i look at this the harder it gets :)

  6. I am looking for CCTV Cameras to record 24/7 video of drilling operations underground
Ideally with SD Card or similar Storage that would continuously record, able to remove and review when needed, power supply is available (Not 240V)
Pretty Hot Humid Damp Environment with Good Artificial Lighting, can be powered but not 240V.

There is No Internet Available at point of Installation/Use 100%

    Needs to be pretty robust

Not sure this is the right Forum but hope so, any ideas please ?

All the latest Toyota cars are much the same as their old models. Just changed their names. And fitted up to date things on them.

The new Legender is lets face it a Tuna with different lights, and grill. The OP asked for places in Patts that did add on bits. I suggested Toyota as they do supply many extras that fit strait on. Most of those if you push them they will fit on at no extra charge. So what ever you call it it's a Fortuner.

Have you driven the new Legender/Fortuner??? well I have they asked me a few weeks ago if I would like a test drive. And I can tell you it's like driving my now 3.5 year old Tuner. Other than a few different lights inside/outside, and a few extra mods on the out side all the panels/fittings are almost identical. About the only thing that's any different is you can now open the boot lid with you foot (POINTLESS as you have to open all the doors with your remote before you can do that anyway) so why just not open the rear door with you key fob in the first place.

I'm not running it down as it's IMO a great car. The only thing that I would put on is wheel arch liners, auto closing wing mirrors. That as I pointed out Toyota don't do.

The Engine is supposed to be more powerful no ? up to 200 HP Now ?
Will have a drive around for the add ons, or just go to the big places in Bangkok for the day, I drove it also 2.8 4WD Legender, Thought it felt a fair bit more responsive than my old TRD 3.0D (2105 last of the old shape still looks good)
Appreciate it is little different to the normal Fortuner, it still is a Fortuner, just the model name changed from TRD to Legender as far as i can see
And i personally like the new lights, although i know and can see online its all bodywork that they actually sell after market to turn older cars into new ones . . ????
