Does anyone live in a " dangerous" area of Thailand or Cambodia even ?
I remember reading a few years ago on here of a farang who lived I think up near the Burma border and had a rubber plantation...who had to arm himself every time he went out .
<removed>
I think it's safer to live in say Pattaya than many issaan village am I wrong ?
Are U confident in walking around your home area at night ?
Obviously there's " rough " or low class areas of all worldwide cities ...so do any of you live in these types of areas ?
As for house robberies / burglary it always seems to be farangs in country Thailand complaining rather than say Bangkok or Pattaya .
How safe is it to be living in a remote area of Thailand ...say a farmhouse ?
Do U need guard dogs ?
If you live on a remote area have U ever had anyone approach the house at night ?

Are you bipolar

This story creates so many thinking processes:
They were in 4 cars. Where in the procession, was the car that had human remains under it?
If they were 1st, 2nd and third - did they see it?
Did any of them hit it?
Did the police check under the other three cars for other evidence?
Did the other four drivers see a dog carcass?
did they see anything?
When the driver saw the dog carcass, did he drive over it?
Why didn't he drive around it?
How fast were they all going?
Did anyone feel of hear anything as the driver went over the carcass, human or dog?
Why didn't they stop to check for car damage, at the very least?
Didn't the thought occur to the driver, or other occupants that he should have checked what he had hit? After all, he only 'thought' he saw a dog carcass.
And finally,
How could anyone continue their happy holiday with the death of a human being being so closely linked to their vehicle, whether that unfortunate person was dead or alive prior to being glued to the underside of this guy's car?
When I drove over a dog carcass it made a huge bang and thug and my car is higher then a Honda

You can be a decent tefl teacher wihtout qualification, but their heart and mind needs to be in the right place. If they teach to "pass the time" and/or not take their job seriously, they will not succeed. They also need to be flexible and able to change to meet changing circumstances.
Most Countries are not looking for a EAL teacher ! If you look at adverts they are all looking for High School Science teachers or Math etc... Sorry a TEFL is not a teacher Qual...it is just a cert.. That can been taken online in an hour for $20. Or forged for free. No degree is laughable... Go teach a dog to swim....

My boy goes to a government school here and is in his last year of high school.
I would like to see him test against college students in the US and I would bet that in science and math he would beat 90% of lower division students and at least 50% of uppers.
Math for sure

With only 83 deaths in Thailand, do you really think Thailand needs to vaccine all the country ?
I think they should start vaccinated at least a dozen... 555 or at least Bkk. Yes they need to vaccinate the Whole Country when Bangkok used to be the most visited place in Earth of course vaccinate. 555 Tourist from all the world end up everywhere in Thailand even laying in the sugar cane field.

It's not a wind up! It's a fact. And NES who the hell would work in those places...? If your fully qualified. To teach in the UK, Europe and British Columbia, CA. Very few Licenced Canadian teachers even get the licence for that Province thats why they go and teach in London. I taught the largest A level Biology cohort in the UK.

Just wait until you start producing the vaccine in June.. Crazy talk

It is interesting that as the crackdown on foreign teachers took hold a few years back how Thailands standings in English ability began to steadily fall. There is an ignorance at the top of the ladder, an ignorance that is having a far more negative impact on its young people than any amount of teachers without a work permit ever could.
Maybe sombody figure out English gives the child and undstandering and knowledge of what they are doing so yes band all English teacher keep the all stupid

I would think a lot of thought needs to be given to that ambition. Look at https://www.talktofrank.com/drug/ketamine#the-risks
I don't see it as on a par with weed - the thought of it would terrify me.... as they say....YMMV ????
Weed and K oh my god no wonder the pool table looks like that. Most of thought it was a beautiful American style coffin or a bed on a soap opera or a park in Amsterdam

Looks like there all in a '' K hole '' on the floor well. At least you can't blame Qantas flight attendants from bringing the drugs into the Country....

Hi,
Im currentely in the process of paying the deposit for the condo i will rent soon.
I have heard stories where people have found it difficult to get the deposit back from the landlord after they check out.
So i will take pictures of the condo on day 1 when i am doing the move in process so i have proof of the condition of the condo when i move in.
Is there any more steps which is advisable i could do in order to protect my deposit if there is problems with it an the end of the contract? I hope it does not come to that and everything works out well but feel it would be best to plan ahead to do everything i can.
Thanks for advise in advance
It won't matter you will end up scratching something or cleaning dirt of something and they will keep all of the deposit. In Bangkok I rented only two places for over a year each never so a penny of deposit so just stay longer and don't pay the rent in your last month I negotiate don't pay over a month deposit in these times. If they don't like it go get another place. And also remember they are rented beautiful places that normally are 25,000 a month for now 6, 000 a month. Don't be stupid think smart.... I get tired of giving suggestions. I am owed 800,000 in rent arrears since last year's

When I go to Pattaya these days (about once a month), I stay at a typical Thai apartment building just off third road. A courtyard of 3 buildings of 4 floors each. I'd say out of the rooms there, maybe 20% are actually occupied - at most. Typically these big rooms with air con, reasonable bathroom size and rear balcony cooking area, rent for 4,000 Baht per month. Ideal for two or more ladies to share. More luxury and expensive or poorly located places are just completely deserted.
I stayed in one of the best modern built condos for 450 baht per night. I am sure that barely covers the electric.. But remember in pattaya owners are responsible for the service charge so agents can be corrupt and just renting them per night for any small money to pay themselves. It is all in the contract but these contracts are useless at the Land Office.
