  1. All of this bunk over what one kid says.

I can only say that it is the fault of the pussy dad for never taking his kid to school or even bothering to pick him up throughout all this time.

When other kids see a father actively involved with their peer, and that father also engages in communication with his son' peers, things are more likely to be a bit more smooth. In other words, kids will think twice before picking on the kid, whose father has been nice to them, and who will be there shortly to pick that kid up.

My instincts tell me that this little prick had it coming. 20 kids? 20 kids don't gang up on someone unless they really think in their little minds that they have a legitimate reason... such as... he is a little prick. It just doesn't happen arbitrarily that way. Kids may be kids, but for certain they are predictable.

The little prick is lying about something, or leaving a lot of the truth out.

Proof? It won't happen again for a long time, because I suspect that whatever he had been doing, he will not do anymore, hence no more ass kicking.

My son, the other day, had punched one of his class mates. My son and a Russian boy. I got the three of us together and told my son to apologize to the one he punched. He did. Then I had them shake hands, and we all had a group hug. I reenforced in their minds that they need each other to make it through life, and that fighting each other only makes it more difficult.

I can only imagine how much of an utter asshol_e this little prick's dad is. Chief petty officer blah blah blah. Yeah right. No time to smile, or get down on his knees and have an eye to eye with the wee ones and see life from their perspective. That is what I suspect.

Why do you chose this poor boy a "little prick" over and over and over again when you have NO CLUE what's behind the story then you end your post saying your young lad is at school bullying other kids?

You might wanna cut down on that coffee a bit.

  2. I have never heard of an "ear candle" but would like to know what it is? I get my ear wax sucked out on Pattaya Klang for 400 baht though.

By a doctor? Which clinic using a machine? That's cheap for that.

Ear candling is not considered a good idea by actual doctors.

Yes by a doctor and yes with a machine and it is the one people are trying to explain on Pattaya Klang (I think maybe soi 10 but not sure) but coming from Sukhumvit it would be on your right hand side. There is a Family Mart on the corner (of soi) then the BEST Noodle (and mostly all food) I have ever had here and right beside that is the ENT.

pROBLEM IS THAT HE IS NEVER THERE. i MEAN YEAH FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 AS SAID BUT NORMALLY "WALK INS" HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 7:00.

oops for the caps. For that reason I went to another clinis with doctor & machine on the East side of Sukhumvit between SSCC and Nernplabwan BUT he charged me 1000 baht and only did one ear (My vertigo ear) and that was it. Quite rude and I would NOT reccommend him.

  3. Does soundhouse have any guitars (acoustic) for sale?

Yes they have a wall of them, I was in there last week, nice selection I think, did not register the names or prices though, medium quality I guess, definitely no Martins or Taylors.

They do have some medium gauge strings though.

Alot of their things like Mic stands, Guitar stands and much more are far cheaper then the Sukhumvit store.

  4. In my opinion, I went there a few times with my "tourist friends" for free and that was just 6 months ago however "living" here I wouldn't spend 1 cetang to get in there. If you have ever gone to the "real" Bkk floating market at 5:00am there is NO comparasine however to some "tourists" being Japanese. or even faramg it mght be worth it for 1 hour.

  5. This above is all true however since 2011 they are now accepting those small laminated copies of your passport however you SHOULD have bothe the "face page" on the front and your "visa) page on the back but the OP is correct as Pattaya has a new "police cheif" and has already done a walk down (himselfe involved too) and is plannng on a "round up" type of situation so if you DON'T have your originsl documents then I reccoment that you do get the above.

  6. I have been driving in Thailand for 13 years now and just today tried to take my friend to the River Kwai. The GPS does not see all the road blocks and we tried every way possible after 3 hours of driving around but because of all the road blocks we couldn't even get through Bkk.

I also lived and drove in Bkk for 5 years so I'm not a newby. I had to stop at a police blockade and talk to the cops & Army guys and explaind that my GPS was just getting us into "no go" places and even after recalibrating it was useless.

My buddy and especially ME being the driver were so bloody discouraged all we wanted to do was get back on hwy 7 back towards Pattaya then head to Koh Chang. I I really wanted to do at that point was drink about 10,000 bottles of Rum !!!!!!

For awhile at least now I would suggest staying clear of Bkk areas (or throughways) and stick to South or East of Bkk

  7. I have had my parents many times over the past 14 years and they are now in their late 70's. Take them to Bangkok, organise a trip to the floating market, rose garden etc or Arun Wat, royal barges andthe klongs on a long tail boat. Take a trip to Ayutayah and come back down the river to Bangkok by boat..Send them away for a 2 night 3 day trip to the river Kwai. take them to Ko Samet, Ko Chang for the weekend.Get them a ride on an elephant(20mins) at the sanctuary of truth for the afternoon. Go to Wat Yansangwararam and Big Buddha. play golf with your dad. Drive down to Hua Hin for a few days and chill out down there. I have done hundreds of things with my parents and there is so much to see and do.

Sorry but I need to copy/paste this into another thread I started also.

  8. If there is a "written" or an "unwritten" rule in Thailand it means absolutely NOTHING !.

The ONLY thing that matters in a case that the OP mentioned "if you were in an accident at a crossway......" is

    1) WHO you are dealing with in the accident

    2) How much will they accept right there and then.

    3) If police are called in then how you present yourself etc (We all know if you are farang you are in the wrong anyways).

    4) Who's Insurance company gets there first

    5) Who has better insurance; "The person with the better insurance loses".

SO not to be rude to the OP in any way............PLEASE do not use the word "Rule" in Thailand.

  9. I've not heard of any road blocks heading that way. As for GPS, I've had some really ridiculous routes proposed. But, if you don't know better, it's the only way to go! Unfortunately.

We love Kanchanaburi. Very beautiful place with many things to see.

Very true. Some are actually ridiculously funny and not always good when entering the "Big City" but I have TomTom Thailand on my iPad and it is pretty good.

I'll give you a call Craig and maybe you can give me some advice on Kanchanaburi. My buddies main thing is the BORK but I have told him that the entire area is also beautiful.

  10. It doesn't matter why he died or if he drank to much or what visa he had or why they didn't deport him etc.

What matters is that he never hurt anyone, wasn't on the streets bumming money or bothering anyone, he went to church, he had children and was a PERSON.

My feelings are that at least he died in a country where he prefered to be and not back in his home country where he obviously dit NOT prefer to be so......

RIP Mr. Tony and may your god be with you !!!!

Please, give the "god" stuff a rest. We're in the 21st century for Christ's sake! 55555

What does being in the 21st century have to do with ones religious beliefs?

I simply said; May YOUR God be with you" as many people have different interpetations of what "God" they belive in.

Sorry if I offended you by trying to send positive vibes out for this man's soul.

  11. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I just saw a documentry 3 weeks ago on the Australian Channel that said "Thailand supplies 80% of the world's rice." But it also said that was declining as rice crops aren't what they used to be due to Floods and droughts etc.

There must be a way of paying these poor farmers quickly. I remember was it just last year or the year before when farmers were commiting suicides from the floods ruining their crops.

These farmers MUST BE PAID !!!!!!

  12. Go to Bkk and follow the expressway leaving to Yommerat. After the stadium turn left and at the traffic lights before Democracy monument turn right to the bridge. After the bridge take the exit for the elevated road and that will drop you onto the 4 which will take you past Nakon Pathom and then after a whilr you will see the signposts for Kanchanaburi. When you get to Kan go through the town turning left after the cemetary. Turn right and that will lead you to the road with all the farang bars. At the end of the road is the bridge.

Why bother. The bridge hasnt existed for years,if you mean the one build durying the war.

If you read my OP I said that my friend wants to visit there. It is still a tourist spot in case you didn't know.

Another reason to "bother" is because Kanchanaburi is a very beautiful place.

Hasn't existed? Do you have "Google"?

Thank you for that but I do know how to get to Kanchanaburi already. My question really with the road closures, does anyone know if these hi-ways will be closed or.......?
