  1. I suspect you may have a dashcam with no wifi. I recently purchased a dashcam on Lazada. I found out there are dashcams with wifi and cheaper dashcams with no wifi. Exactly as you say, the only way to transfer the video is to remove the SD card and put it into a reader or a phone. Dashcams with wifi can be done wirelessly from dashcam to phone or computer.
  2. There is a forum on REDDIT devoted to safes: https://www.reddit.com/r/Safes/
  3. Perhaps it needs to connect to a mobile or other device via BlueTooth?
  4. Was that a single application of drops or several applications of drops on following days.
  5. With "MS-13", they must "earn" the right for many of the tattoos by killing a rival gang member. each tattoo can represent a separate killing. Nasty stuff.
  6. I once saw this type of thing first hand. I was staying in an Udon Thani MooBan with a GF and her kids. For his birthday, her 7 year old son asked for us to buy ice cream for him and his whole class at lunch. We went to the school headmaster and he said it had to be done through him and asked for B1000 for the ice cream. On the special day, each kid got about a tablespoon of the cheapest possible ice cream, the kind vendors sell for B10 a scoop. My GF said all in, probably cost him less than B200. The rest went into his pocket.
  7. Fortunately, a fire station is right around the corner. They were able to get on it pretty quickly and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings.
  8. Girl wearing #9 looks like a minor. Probably a lot more to this story.
  9. Little bit of hypocrisy showing here. Countless western bar owners supplement their income running Golfing Tours, bar crawls, fishing expeditions and other activities that fall under the definition of "Tours". Pot calling the kettle black.
  10. Driving on back roads in the Pattaya/Jomtien vicinity. it's really sad to see endless piles of illegally dumped refuse, mostly building materials dumped on almost every non-developed piece of land. The lack of any kind of enforcement against these dumpers is discouraging.
  11. Wide angle lenses can exaggerate perspective but it really does appear to be a substantial overhang of the kind that usually requires a following vehicle with warning lights displayed. If the car approached at as high a speed as the damage suggests, he may not have realized the extent of the overhang viewing it from behind. Not long ago, there was a large truck in front of me as I approached a red light. I could see he was carrying some kind of beams extending from the rear but as I got close I had to hit my brakes much harder as I realized the beams extended back several meters more than they appeared from a distance. Very easy to misjudge from behind.
  12. I've had an excellent experience at Pattaya Memorial over the last two months. Appointments always on time, very competent and friendly staff and reasonable charges. Nice facility, easy in and out, convenient location. Several years ago, I had a very unpleasant experience at Pattaya City Hospital. As their name implies, they are a city hospital, over-extended and underfunded. They don't seem to have the resources for critical care.
  13. Job sites need technicians with skills beyond those of normal laborers. Skilled electricians and technology specialists, inspectors, logistics co-ordinators to name just a few.
  14. Despite the blurring, on close look, it appears this thug got a touch of justice upon apprehension.
  15. "since January, Immigration Bureau 2 has denied entry to over 10,581 high-risk individuals " If accurate, that works out to about 60 persons denied entry every day. BKK averages 50-60 thousand arriving passengers per day so less than 1% but still a lot of people.
  16. After tomorrow, this story will go away, as they always do. In all likelihood, through lawyers hired by "friends" he will post B10-15 million bail and quietly disappear. There will be no news story.
  17. When I had a pinched nerve condition in my left leg, it was diagnosed with what is called a "Nerve Conductive Study" (NCS) Basically, electrical stimulation is applied to the leg nerves and the results are tracked. Not painful but a bit uncomfortable.
  18. Would you really want to put on a helmet somebody else has worn 5 minutes prior? Head lice are common in Thailand along with a long list of contagious skin conditions. Unless drivers would also be required to keep a box of sterile paper beanies to wear under the helmet it would be a no go for me.
  19. I nearly got t-boned by one recently. At night, I was exiting Jomtien Soi-5, turning left onto Beach Rd. I looked right but no headlights approaching so pulled out---VROOOM!!! A large motorcycle in full wheelie mode at high speed missed me by inches! Because the bike was pointed skywards, the headlight hadn't been visible. He continued down Beach rd, holding the wheelie until out of sight. I had to stop and gather myself...hands shaking. Too close for comfort.
  20. Only James Bond & John Wick can survive that many bullets. This guy must either be very luck or very, very small.
  21. Daddy & Mummy will buy baby boy a new one. Of course, it was the car's fault.
  22. Many times every day I see families such as this family, four-up on a motorbike, frequently one child in front practically overhanging the handlebars. More often than not, the children are not wearing any form of head protection. I can somewhat understand adults making the decision for themselves not to bother with head gear, they are after all, adults, albeit idiots To not care enough about your kid's well being to provide that child with head protection is criminal negligence
  23. Don't lay too much blame on poor journalism. Thailand's judicial system is far less transparent that most Western countries. Hearings and trials are frequently held behind closed doors and results rarely announced. Thailand does not use a jury system. Trials are held before either a single judge or a panel of judges depending on the court and the offense. Judges have the option of closing proceedings to the public and press and do so more often than not.
  24. Interesting time discrepancy in the story. The lead paragraph states he fell overboard around 0245 am Sunday morning. Following paragraph says police were notified at 10:40am, same day of the incident, 8 hours after his reported fall overboard. How is the time of his fall overboard at 0245 known unless it was witnessed and if witnessed, why 8 hour gap in time before being reported to authorities?
  25. Issue solved by doing a re-start of her Samsung mobile phone.
