Will take my digital camera out with me and try and get some photos for you.All i know is that they are a pygmy variety and are tiny to those in Holland.(maybe 30 cm high)

No sheep here in chilly Khon Kaen but plenty of goats along the roadsides in small flocks.

Always stay at Mutmee. It's great laid-back but efficient accommodation and is a great meeting point for budget travelers. It is the best choice in Nong Khai for getting the scoop on local doings and places to go. Rooms range from quaint garden bungalows and large second-floor rustic suites to smaller, cheap-Charlie cells on the first floor of a larger block. There is even one top standard room at riverside with air-conditioning. The central garden is a great place to relax with a book and enjoy views of the river and Laos beyond. They serve great Thai meals, some of the best in town, and have a good system whereby guests keep track of their own bill and make orders themselves. Mutmee is close to the market, but far enough away for some quiet. It's located at the end of a tranquil lane of two-story wooden homes housing good services like an Internet cafe, a gallery and a good bookstore.
Once ventured to stay in Phon Phisai at Big Snake Guesthouse. After a day there i felt like hanging myself !!Went mad with boredom and it has no restaurant or activities and no local cultural sights of interest. The owner is a sad sullen man which is very odd in the hospitality industry.

Last year in Udon had an Add carabou concert and there was a female police officer on crowd control with the big stick they carry on such occasions. Not very scary to say the least.

I have read a couple of good reviews too but if you check out the good ones they are from people related to websites that have links to the bigsnake web-site.i.e gives us a link and i'll write something nice. The only problem is if you follow that recommendation and waste a load of money.Mutmee guesthouse is by far the best and it's in Nong Khai.

True and i'm sure the further you get from Bangkok the cheaper the labour becomes.

Hmmm.
Went to the Fireball festival this year. What a joke, the fireballs are just tracer rounds fired from boats on the river. What a waste of time and effort. The place we stayed at was awful,Bigsnake Guesthouse. The owner makes Shylock seem generous. There isn't a meaner person on this planet. Our friend had a birthday and thought we would have a little party but were not allowed to bring in own drinks. We had to buy everything from the guesthouse owner,John.
In the past have always stayed at Mutmee in Nong Khai which is a great home from home and everyone is so generous.

750 Baht for a day's work for a good electrician is way over the odds. Here is Udorn you're talking 300 at most and thats for a top guy.

Mutmee is by far the best place to stay in Nongkhai. Its right in the middle of Nong Khai and yet they have a stunning garden right in the river where i chill out before going on the visa run.Got a top restaurant too and everyone is well friendly.Stayed at Phon phisai before but way too far out and nothing to do or see.No decent reataurants or activities.Got roasted on the bus to Nong Khai. Now always stay at Mutmee.Cheap too.

Did you have to give the boys a little tea money to get the job done so quick?Very impressive to say the least.
