My GF sleeps on the floor with her family walking around, watching TV, and talking all night. Amazing Thailand.

I've seen the same in my apartment complex. An absolute stunner has turned lesbian and now dates a dumpy, fat tom. It just boggles the mind.

I have always used Bangkok Smile near Ploenchit BTS. They seem to be targeting their business towards expats and tourists. I have been very happy, but honestly, I have never used them for serious dentistry. Cheap and reasonable services for cleaning and fillings.

I've only seen it once. The guy and his girl kept getting pushed out by the person who was assigned, and then finally the theater staff came and kicked them out. They probably never had a ticket and were jumping movies.

You dont' need at 1099-INT nor will the Thai banks give you one. You report your foreigner earned interst on Schedule B and transfer it to your 1040 Form, the same as you would your U.S banking interest. But, it is UP TO YOU to track and keep records of your foreign earned banking intersted in case the IRS contacts you and wants more information.

The search for the best "American style" burger keeps bringing me back to the Bus Stop, Suk Soi 4. I've tried them all. Burgers are not supposed to be gourmet, designer, or beautiful. They are supposed to be greasy, sloppy, messy, meaty helpings of joy. The Bus Stop does it right. No beats, no eggs, no chili sauce, no flowers. Try the bacon cheese burger for just about ~100baht. You will feel like you are home again enjoying a picnic at the lake, or at a tailgate party at a 49'ers game. These other places don't know what a real burger is all about.. IMHO.

Thailand (whilst I have no evidence) seems have a very high % of ex-pats who suffer ED.
Not really. Its just that ED drugs area easily available, so they use it. There are too many factors that can affect a man when he is in the spot light,...stress, anxiety, nervousness, shyness, too much alchohol. The little blue (or yellow) pill helps avoid the embarrassment. I smile when I hear those people say " I don't need it". Right. Plus the lady loves the marathon sessions as much as the man does.
Some call it 'insurance'
Yep.

I just found this thread, as I am about to get the surgery done myself for a minor rotator cuff tear. I was hoping someone could provide recommendations for a doctor at the less expensive hospitals in Bangkok. I am sure there are good doctors out there. My surgery is not so serious and to pay out 300,00Baht+ is just difficult to accept.

I have only had 2 bad experiences on a flight. One with a 2 month old sitting near me, and one with a 2 year old sitting near me. Enough said.

Yes. The biggest I have seen is at Future Park in Rangsit.

I have heard both sides on this discussion, but the bottom line (IMHO), is to prevent what has already happened to Phuket. Tourists didn't complain and didn't care about pricing, and now look what happened there. New York and London prices in Thailand? It is happening now. So, I support the cheap charlie's. Complain louder, voice your complaints to the Thai's, and walk to the street and catch a 10baht bus laughing all the way. Maybe grab a few tourists that have been sitting on the bus at the bus station for 20 minutes waiting for it to be full. Let the baht bus mafia see the customers walk away.

More likely the "15 Minute Express" train service will be discontinued as you have to sit 30 minute before it comes... And I would turn Makkasan into a Sprit House...
At best. Even the snail trains you have to wait. I sat in one for 10 mintues and it didn't depart. FInally I left, grabbed a taxi, and beat the train to the airport.

Your site came up no problem using Buddy Broadband in Bangkok.

I had a doctor in the U.S. removed one with a pair of scissors. I yelped like a dog for a split second then it was gone. You can also try apple cider vinager. Search Youtube for instructions. No reason to pay big money for this.

Wow! I know that I live up country but! 20K a month! Egad! Why don't you hire an English speaking driver who is married, not only will you get him for less than 20K but he'll probably be happy to have his wife do the cleaning for 150-200 baht a day.
I know plenty of college grads that started at less than 16k or 20k per month. Geez! You can get 'em for 12k no problem.

I buy a bunch when I'm back in states. Shave cream as well.
Still have 3-4 sticks.
Same here every time I go overseas I stock up in the duty free got 2 sticks left plus the one im still using costs $25 nz over here costs $50+
I do the same, but not for price reasons. I cannot find effective deoderant in Thailand. Tried many brands. I noticed that I also must alternate brands to stay "fresh". I buy in bulk when back in the U.S. and keep a nice variety available. Now if I can get the gf to try some.

I don't smoke, but this is rediculous. Change the air filters in the smoking lounges. Add a second door to the outside areas. Increase clean air circulation. This isn't rocket science. If every major electronics factory can control particle count, then anyone can.

Just bumping this thread, as it seems these guys are still up to there usual tricks, throttling ports.
Speeds are painfully slow for downloading or streaming.
Anyone else here with buddy noticing this???
I have used Buddy for years and have the same problem. Since Buddy is the only service I have used in Thailand, I just assumed it was Thailand. Very frustrating when trying to watch streaming video and it freezes all the time.

I have been collecting my bags and use them again when I go back to the market. I get the strangest looks from the staff. I have a bucket full of them. I wanted to give them back to the store, but my gf told me that the Thais wouldn't want to use them.

Nothing wrong with children in the building.
That's an opinion.
Personally I think the little buggers should all be shot.
LOL. I suppose it depends on how well behaved they are. Lots of children in my building, but all very well behaved. But I've lived near some not very well behaved children in the UK, so know what you mean.
Lots of children in my building also. Sure they are well behaved but the noise, shreeks, and squeels they make at the swimming pool can be heard up to the 23rd floor. All the retired gents enjoy their morning coffee by the pool, then head back to their room as soon as the children show up.

I have wired money to my credit union in the U.S. many times using a routing number. No problems. As others mentioned, best to just ask your overseas bank what to use, and they will set you up.

When I first came to Bangkok 10 years ago, I never saw graffiti on buildings. Now Sukhumvit is covered. Street art festival, who's brilliant idea was that? I just noticed that soi 6 has been plastered with graffiti the past 2 weeks. I guess the "new artists" are practicing.

Are local real estate agents much help here? I noticed a large swing in prices for the same style condo. It seems everything is "for rent or sale". Then is there is a rediculous asking price for both. How does one go about finding the market value of a condo when there is so much variation? Should we assume the asking prices are stupidly inflated and the real estate agent can help bring everthing into perspective?

The driver's story doesn't add up to me. I've take a taxi from Central Bangna to On Nut and the fare is usually around 60 baht. If the fare had reached 51 baht by Udomsuk, that is not far off from my expectation. So why would the passenger be so upset over this fare? He probably thought the meter was rigged (which happens), but the numbers don't add up to me.
