Food is available at The Avenue, Mike shopping mall (food court), all Big C, all Tesco Lotus, Royal Garden, and Central Festival Beach.
I like the Big C extra (Pattaya Klang) food park and Sizzlers.

Tried "Deutsches Haus" the other day.
It is located on beach road, almost at the corner of soi 4.
I love good grilled pork knuckle, so I ordered one.
Before, I asked how the skin is.
"crispy" was the answer, so go ahead!
Deutsches Haus delivers solid portions for the price (I think about 220 baht for the plate shown on the attached pic).
The panned potatoes with bacon were good.
But the knuckle didn't quite live up to my expectations.
First, the skin wasn't really crispy.
They try to make it crispy by frying the knuckle in frying oil (same as Thais or KFC does with chicken) - but the result is that the skin isn't really crispy, and it loses its pork taste, and at the same time portions of meat that became exposed to the frying oil become dry and chewy.
Second, to my taste, the knuckle didn't spend enough time in salt brine.
Overall, it was decent and the portions are certainly generous.
I think the Wiener Schnitzel should be quite ok at Deutsches Haus and good value.
The other things we ordered were yummy.
So thumbs up for Deutsches Haus, overall.
I had dinner there tonight and enjoyed the 200 baht buffet. A few different sausages, stew, salami, fruit, cake, grilled chicken, pasta, meatballs, potato salad. A lot of choice for low cost.

Hopefully he will open again for the high season, I hope until further notice doesn't mean forever?
Reopening 9/30.

I used to live there and found it very shabby. Moved up and beyond. Then went to visit a friend there a few months ago and was appalled.

Karma?
Beat me to it. It's not nice to stereotype because some ladyboys are so cool but there's a lot of very high profile dangerous ones out there into violent thefts.

Or you could have just Googled "Pattaya Orphanage" and come up with this: http://www.thepattayaorphanage.org
Where did you think I got the photo in OP from?
I did not find the requested info on the main page. If you know it, please share.

Happened this morning in Viewtalay6 on beach road. 3 girls met outside Central. He was served fruit and found the fruit tasted unusual. He did not even eat the entire piece. Woke up 10 hours later (luckily!).
Drugged fruit! Now I've heard it all!
Rumor has it that the women used to put the drug on their nipples but the drug seeped into their systems and quite often the girls would pass out too.

Could happen anywhere, good and bad. The op should look on the bright side crappy 6oobt helmet gone,Go and get a decent one and your man sounds like he doesn,t know much about helmets that are safe. 6000bt for a half decent one
Ha, I know sb will say this sooner or later I cherish all the things I have, no matter of its value. Am not a F1 racer, a 150 one is good enough for me. Besides, even if one has a top quality helmet but has a serious accident, the head is protected but the body is badly damaged.... What is the good of it ? Same miserable ! Maybe a warrior armour is the best for motorbike riders
You should ask our esteemed admin, Raro, if he agrees with you. He was in an accident recently. Not going that fast, somebody cut in front of him. Ended up breaking his leg. Would have been MUCH worse without a full face helmet as he landed on his face first. Permanent scars for sure.
So broken leg, but still a beautiful face.
There is more to it...a general question whether I ride a bike again. As there was no driving mistake from my side (idiot in front of me just hit the brakes for no reason and crossed into my line of driving) there is no lesson I can learn here other than staying away from riding a bike,
Driving defensively means allowing ample reaction space between you and the drivers ahead of you. What if he brakes or does a quick lane change for a blind dog or a crossing school child? You, the follower, must also be prepared to react.

I truly love living in Pattaya and have never found anywhere better for me. However, I love my peace and quiet. I know it's hard to find in the center of the city so I've decided I would prefer to choose what I listen to all day. Therefore, I've loaded heaps of Ramones songs on my MP3 and go about my business not having to listen to inane chatter. So when I lay down for a massage, I don't listen to boisterous discussions about papaya salad. Instead, I listen to the song Teenage Lobotomy. Instead of listening to the waitresses yelling customers' orders back to the cooks 2 inches from my left ear, I've got the song Beat on the Brat blaring away. The Ramones are not the most soothing of sounds but it sure beats the yelling and screaming.

Get one of those lockable boxes. Bought mine with the bike and I still have my original helmets (which is a stunning revelation for this part of the world...).

Move here and get into sports so you can meet people away from the bars. I've met some quality expats this way. Use online dating sites to meet girls. Most will have 9am-5pm jobs rather than the 9pm-5am nightlife girls. Don't lend money to anyone no matter what. People will usually not repay. Go for the ED visa. It makes life so simple. Explore other cities in Thai and around Asia. Saigon, Singapore, and Philippines are all close and interesting. Enjoy non girly bars from time to time like Blues Factory for easy listening and relaxing. Head up to Chiang Mai and see if it's better for you. Don't pay too much up front for anything. Don't become a sponsor of anyone.
