I stayed at IMM Fusion by On Nut BTS station for 600B a night, fast fast wifi in the room, good service.
Thanks for the tip but how does one get the 600THB/night rate? Their site's prices start at 900++.

I've lived in all parts of Pattaya including the raucous Walking Street. Jomtien, if you have a good companion, would be a nice place for me BUT I love eating at the malls in central Pattaya. That in addition to the gym, movies, etc.
Living in Jomtien always meant going over the hill or by Sukhumvit and I find both dangerous.

British Club is open to most expats
Thank you for all your replies. As it's now Sunday morning, hundreds of Pattaya expats are gearing up for one of the weekly meetings. In all cases, there are updated websites and it's quite a slick production with a buffet. For whatever reason, nothing similar as of yet in Bkk but I do note that the British Club has an almost daily event of some sort. Although there is an unpublished membership cost on their site:

Driving a Fino for 4 years. No problems and I added one of those boxes to the back which your passenger can lean on. I stick with Fino because the seats are very comfortable. Bought from the Honda dealer on 3rd/Lenkee. Paid 40k. It's an easy smooth ride.

Sitpholek Muay Thai gym is an inexpensive choice(compared to Fairtex) alongside the Universe gym.
Not sure if these prices are current.
A good thing about training with Sitpholek is that you can then fight at the huge and new Boxing World Stadium opposite Pattaya Bangkok hospital.

Hotels under 1000 baht with wifi in room? My usual home at Honey House on Suk. 22 has unreliable internet.
Another contender is Maxim Inn near Nana.
Any others? Thank you.

It was great meeting everyone who came last night. Thanks for all the free beers from Mitchell. Very generous.

I've just booked into the Rinya House which seems to get very good reviews. I'll let you know later what's it's like.
Today poked my head into a few of those Lengkee guesthouses. I'm an expat and know the entire city/darkside/Jomtien/Naklua areas and I felt there were a few opp. Vogue hotel that are better value because they're quieter. Lengkee though is not a walking friendly street in my opinion and I've decided I wouldn't want to live there.

soi Lenkee is b/n 3rd and Buakow. There are dozens of new hotels and guesthouses. I've asked friends for recommendations and the top pick is consistently China Garden guesthouse. Anyone with other recommendations? Thank you.

About 80 arrested...
Just chatting to my lady on-line, and she has just left the police station after checking why one of our staff has been held after the soi 6 raid. She says that literally dozens of girls being held, mostly for drugs, and many underage.
As per typical Thailand, they have raided soi 6, rounded up many girls who may have drug issues, but FORGOT to inform the police doctors, hence they can only start proper checks from 11 tomorrow morning. All of the girls will be held until then so Soi 6 will be a little light on staff tomorrow.
My girl says there are about 80 girls being held, and will all be checked tomorrow, but I dont know if this will affect the bar owners, or just the girls.
I am guessing if underage, then the owners will have a problem, but if drugs, its down to the girls.

One could argue the police are doing their jobs and maybe if they did these type of spot checks more often, they would find more under age girls and illegal immigrants. I'm not taking sides but stating the facts.

I agree which is why I'm a little surprised there's not a pay as you go scheme like in Pattaya. ie: Starting at 90 baht per visit for unlimited fruit and juice/water is good value.
