Im kinda curious how the google links brigade here would run the presidency…..if they could.

    u interfered ….no we didnt …yes u did….no we didnt…..for the next 8 years?!

Isn't it better to find common things to agree on….why have both russia and china as enemies.

and instead tighten up your cyber defences instead of moaning you got hacked (if you really did)

mr trump is trying …you're not helping.

It would make more sense if you had said Mr Trump is lying. ... that's not helping.

You are right when you say it is not good to have Russia and China as enemies but because the guy is a habitual liar you or I will never know his reasoning or his intentions on diplomacy. I'm not sure it's all about having one big happy family.

Hes a taker. Not a giver and is used to doing things for his own advantage. A leopard and spots comes to mind.

  2. Trading of positions is a cancer of all government sectors. My GFs nephew was recently told that if he could pay 200,000 baht he could buy himself a 10,000 baht per month job with his local municipality in Pichit. What would a general's job go for? The mind boggles when you think about the scale at a national level.

Too much money involved to expect a positive resolution to this problem   Not to sure how many of these jokers got to their current position without actively participating themselves.

  3. I would like to think this was a serious attempt to arrest power from what is an obviously corrupt group. If it is, I say great stuff. Go for it.

My gut tells me it is designed to deliver nothing in the way of reform. When you look at the make up of the committee and who will select the participants it's hard to believe you will get 36 people on the committee who are even slightly interested in changing the way business is done. Not too many honest people make it to a position where they would be considered for a place on the reform committee. For the process to be successful there needs to be full transparency and constant review and scrutiny by the media. A few more obstacles that need overcoming.

I live in hope and life does have its little surprises. 10 months is a long time so I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm guessing in 10 months it'll all be forgotten.

Where there's money there's corruption.. it's rife in every corner of Thai society and temples are no exception.

With huge amounts of money coming in the form of maintenance funds or donations from the public the temples are unfortunately a prime target for those who are not as Buddhist in their thinking as they should be !

So very true. I have seen and experienced it first hand. the monkhood has great career paths for the criminally inclined and it is discussed openly between themselves. Not all are bad but far too many are.

  5. I had an enjoyable ride in a taxi in Bangkok a few months ago. After walking away from 5 taxis who refused to use the meter I finally submitted and accepted the offered fare.

But there is a god. A few blocks up the road the taxi was pulled over and fined twice as much as my fare for not using his meter. Khama is a bitch.

A case of the plod doing there job although I'm not sure where the money ended up.

If the self-installed gov't in Bkk had any cojones, they would not only replace the cops top to bottom, but also seriously investigate the mob families on the island - for all the serious crimes of the past 10 years. Granted, that's impossible.

Prayut only has control of the civilian population. The police he has no control over. The police are a law unto themselves and Prayut will not go near them. He doesn't have the balls.

In recent weeks the Prime Minister has been ridiculed for being very quick to step in and resolve some matters of NO national importance. The cover-up and thrust-counting of a "twerking" singer comes to mind.

Here is his chance to gain some respect by giving the police and the Law Council a kick up the backside and get some justice for the girl.

Will he intervene? I'm not holding my breath.

Only if the lawyer does more than 3 thrusts of the hips.

There is a story about an Australian woman saving a Thai woman from drowning and somehow you manage to twist it into a story on Australia having one of the highest suicide rates in the world.  Unrelated as it is to the original story Australia ranks about 87th in the world in suicide rates.

Perhaps you should keep you should seek some  psychiatric  counseling.

    So much anger. Settle petal.
