A lot of the people who contribute to "Brexit" threads aren't British. So you can't expect them to "care about the UK".

With foreign reserves at 20 billion $$$ and a screaming baht the economy is doing great. Care to give your expert assessment and no porn the beer bar girl hab no boom boom doesn't count!!
I think it's $200 billion, not $20 billion.
I agree, Thailand's economic fundamentals are rather solid right now. They could improve things further by lowering their interest rates and letting the baht depreciate slightly. In my opinion.

The polls for a second referendum are currently at the same percentages as they were on the day of the original vote - 52% Remain, 48% Leave.
Of course, the pollsters were a few percentage points out for the original vote.
Too close to call?

The government's white paper on fisheries makes for interesting reading.
One eye-catching statistic from the paper:
QuoteGiven the heavy reliance on UK waters of the EU fishing industry (on average between 2012 and 2016 other EU Member States’ vessels landed in the region of 760,000 tonnes of fish (£540 million revenue)), as well as the importance of EU waters to the UK (UK vessels landed approximately 90,000 tonnes of fish (£110 million revenue) 1 in other Member States’ waters per year in the same time period), it is in both our interests to reach a deal that works for the UK and the EU’s fishing communities.
Interesting that the EU currently catches 5 times as many fish from the UK.

Yea, and verily, the curse of Brexit will surely lead to ten plagues.
Water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children.

It's always interesting to see what the commenters on the BBC website are saying.
The top 2 comments seem in favour of the decision. A little further down the page:
Here we have 1 in 3 blaming the Supreme Court judges.
It is worrying how divided the country is becoming.

Thailand have thousand of foreigner overstaying. Big problem.
That's true. But some people say that most of the overstaying foreigners are migrant workers from neighbouring countries - Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. Not farang :)

Again, everyone is banging on about Egypt for some reason, but no one is challenging his point.
He worked for Emily Thornberry the Shadow Foreign Secretary for two and a half years. It might as well have been Jeremy Corbyn confronting the PM in the hospital.
The NHS is getting £134 Billion this year, how much do you think they should be receiving? Sanctimonious idiots never have to do the sums though, do they.

you might want to check Thailands gun crime rate (homicide) compared to many "farangland" ( whereever that is?) its higher than America and way over all European countries Australia etc etc
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_guns_and_homicide
Yet strangely, there are twice as many firearms deaths in the US per 100,000 people as there are in Thailand:

You got half of it. They switch to acid attacks, knife attacks, strong-arm attacks, but the point is, that the UK is a lot more murderous than those in the USA.
Murder statistics are readily available for every country.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
United States 5.30 murders per 100,000/year
Thailand 3.24 murders per 100,000/year
United Kingdom 1.20 murders per 100,000/yearSo the statistics say that the US is 4 times more "murderous" than the UK.

Good use of racist language, AlexRich. Do you get to use the term "slant eyed" if you are Scottish and read the Guardian?
Interesting to see your true colours showing.

I've seen many Thai monks smoking cigarettes, my wife told me that it is acceptable for them to smoke.

QuoteDharma Data: Smoking
Tobacco, whether smoked or chewed, is now widely considered an addictive and dangerous drug. However as its impact on consciousness is slight most Buddhists do not consider smoking to be breaking the fifth Precept. In Burma and Japan smoking by monks is common as it is in Thailand amongst monks of the Mahanikaya sect. In Sri Lanka and amongst Tibetans and Chinese smoking by monks is looked down upon and they usually refrain from it. So from the Buddhist perspective smoking may well be unwise but is does not have a moral dimension- 1

I think I can see what you're saying, but as there are five working days in a week, each day is 20% of the total. Therefore logically, Fridays and Mondays are 40%.
Well spotted :)

Well, Bank of Thailand .....
If you lower interest rates, the Thai baht will be less attractive to currency speculators, who will take their their money elsewhere. The baht will fall 5% or so. Everybody wins.

If you know the Bank of Thailand does note control the baht and is not responsible for the last three days of the pound tanking because of a no deal brexit why would you write, " Of course the Bank of Thailand controls the price of the Baht against other currencies! They're the sodding Central Bank!"
Unless those little Thai banking gnomes are in London getting people elected.
Isn't it about time to admit that the UK gov are killing expats and not Thailand. !. They wrecked your currency and 2. They pulled the income letters. Nothing to do with Thailand at all. The blame is squarely on the shoulders of the UK.
The baht is strong against all major currencies. I'll post this again to demonstrate:
Here's a list of the 10 most traded currencies in the world:
https://www.ig.com/uk/trading-strategies/the-top-ten-most-traded-currencies-in-the-world-180904
Since December 1st 2018:
USD fell 5.28% against the THB
EUR fell 6.32% against the THB
JPY fell 0.89% against the THB
GBP fell 6.73% against the THB
AUD fell 10.9% against the THB
CAD fell 5.84% against the THB
CHF fell 5.46% against the THB
CNY fell 4.5% against the THB
SEK fell 9.49% against the THB
NZD fell 10.06% against the THBAll 10 of the world's biggest currencies fell against the baht. Brexit really must have hurt the USA, Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, China, Sweden and New Zealand :(
Or maybe there's another explanation.
The Thai baht gained strength against all major currencies since December 2018.

Brexit
Only 34.73% voted to remain, so they can move to France or Germany ????
I'm not a "leaver" or a "remainer", but if you are going to use statistics and percentages, try to use a little intellectual honesty in the process.
To clarify:
37.48% voted leave, 34.73% voted for remain, 27.79% of the electorate didn’t vote
