if is a negative story, ok. But this is not.
About our culture that we are proud of. And none of you know about.
Maybe your culture is to ridicule, mock, criticize and complain.
Everyday. Everything. Our culture, our religion, our people.
Sad people.
Why are you here if you hate us so much?
Yes, a lot of farang humour is based on satire, or mockery. When we say things like "driving through red lights is a Thai tradition", it is mostly meant as a joke. But I can understand that for somebody not brought up in a Western country, it might seem as a hateful remark.
Have a look at the discussions in "World News", you will see that Western people criticize and complain about their own country. "Ridicule, mock, criticize and complain" is a normal part of Western culture - and sometimes Thai culture, too.
Also, people behave differently on internet forums and real life. Most of the people saying "hateful things" in this thread are probably nice people when you meet them in real life.

But many farang is always complain about uk, euro, Aussie, money is so “weak.”
so if thai baht so strong, must it be good, right? The import stuff now cheaper for me to buy it.
Dont want to be weak like that and complain.
Yes, a strong baht is good for buying the latest iPhone ????
But Thailand's farmers are very unhappy.
3 years ago, Thai rice was selling at $420/ton. It is also selling at $420/ton today.
3 years ago, $1 = 35 Thai baht. So when a Thai rice farmer went to sell 1 ton of rice, he got 14,700 baht. Today, $1 = 30.8 baht. Now the farmer will only get paid 12,936 baht, even though the price of rice in dollars hasn't changed.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese dong fell 10% against the dollar in 3 years. The Vietnamese farmer will get 10% more money this year for his rice than 3 years ago. But maybe he won't have the latest iPhone ????

If Iran triples the number of gas centrifuges online, Iran would be about 3 months from 90% weapons grade uranium. Another diplomatic milestone for the Trump administration.
You make it sound so straightforward! Are you a nuclear scientist?
I'd like to see some evidence of your "3 months from 90%" claim. It doesn't sound credible to me.

Options would include reducing bond supplies, he said. The BOT last week cut its supply of three-and six-month bonds at auctions in July.
Good news ???? The BOT are finally taking action to reduce the strength of the baht.
Let's see what else the BOT do in the coming months.

QuoteIn 2017, China exported $2.41T and imported $1.54T, resulting in a positive trade balance of $873B
QuoteU.S. goods and services trade with China totaled an estimated $737.1 billion in 2018. Exports were $179.3 billion; imports were $557.9 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with China was $378.6 billion in 2018.

Sorry Wang Qishan, the numbers don't lie. Your economy is massively reliant on exporting goods. If other countries decide to impose tariffs on China to protect their own balance of trade, China is in a world of trouble.
The West's landfills are heaving with badly-made Chinese electronics and plastic goods. We don't need China all that badly.

It has the capability. But as we have seen from Trump's reversal on the drone strike, the political will is lacking.
Yes, the political will is lacking - for now.
Let's assume that 18 months from now, Iran have enriched their uranium to 75%-80%, and they are a few months away from having a nuclear device.
Other countries would be pleading with the US to launch strikes against Iran. The political landscape would be completely different. By that point, Israel would have probably have launched strikes of their own.
Sure, Iran can keep enriching their uranium, but it is just posturing on their part. They will never be allowed to go all the way to having nuclear weapons.

And they have every right to do so.
It would be a waste of time. The US has the capability to launch air strikes against Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities whenever they wish.

Apologies for the spelling mistake; you have obviously never made one in your entire life.
When I did a Google search for 'Matthew Elliot,' the results are very different!
The same when doing a search for Dominic Cummings: https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGGE___GB823GB823&biw=1242&bih=568&ei=0VwhXffBEcHKwQKXwLfYCQ&q=Dominic+Cummings&oq=Dominic+Cummings&gs_l=psy-ab.12..0j0i67l2j0l7.18847.27284..31099...0.0..0.347.6454.2-9j12......0....1..gws-wiz.....0..0i71j0i131j0i131i67._YCXE4i1IG8
But you told us they were a famous pair of Brexiteers? So famous that you didn't even need to give their full names?
If I search for "Johnson Hunt" or "Lennon McCartney", Google comes up with their names instantly.
So Elliott and Cummings are not a famous pair as you claimed. Very few people know who they are.

Spelling people's names wrongly shows a lack of familiarity with their names. If I wrote about "Vladimir Pootin" or "Donuld Tramp", you would wonder why I couldn't remember their names, since I would have read them thousands of times.
I notice you have made the same mistake yet again above, oh dear oh dear ????
(Matthew Elliot)
You are clearly not familiar with their names, so accusing other posters of being "pathetic" for not knowing them is ..... erm ...... pathetic? ????

Who is "Elliot"? If he is as famous as you claim, surely everyone would know that Matthew Elliott's surname is spelt with 2 T's ????
Interestingly, when you Google search for "Elliott" and "Cummings", you get the search I've shown below.
It seems that even Google don't know who these guys are - they aren't on page 1 or page 2, they don't surface until page 3 in an article published by The Guardian.

yep. No matter that you follow their rules, have evidence of what you are doing, and how you dress, you are totally at the whims of some braindead immigration officer over whether you're allowed to stay in thailand, or must leave.
Of course, there'll be a few posters come on here and say they've never had a problem because they follow the rules, polite and dress nice.
Yes, you are temporarily in their power. You should act accordingly.
Be calm, polite, and patient. Be deferential (even if it's just an act).
The man in front of you may be a petty, arrogant, miserable individual - but if you show them anything other than respect, they have all kind of ways of making your life miserable. If you start an argument with them, you are done.
I would be interested to know if dtag had a disagreement with the immigration officer, however minor.

"Now ANTIFA are protesting Soros" - really?? What lunatic conspiracy theory are you referring to? Do you have any links to support your claims?
Your comments are like a parody of what a "right wing" commenter is supposed to believe.
This is your 4th comment on this site? Really? If I didn't know better, I would say that you already have an account on this website. Multiple accounts for the purposes of trolling are forbidden.

The GBP is losing against all currencies because of BREXIT and foreign countries/companies moving out of GB.
So you poor britts are in a lose/lose situation.
Ha ha ha, yes I'm sure that's the reason ????
Let's imagine there are 500,000 expats with 400,000 baht of visa deposits in the bank (a wild overestimation). That's a total of 200 billion baht, or about $6.5 billion USD.
However, Thai foreign reserves are currently over $200 billion USD - 30 times the exaggerated sum we just calculated for expat visa deposits.
Imaginative theory though, please keep those crazy economic fantasies coming ????

I can't see what benefit they (immigration) see for refusing a genuine tourist, this is why I believe you likely have skipped some information out maybe? You already forgot to mention the previous work in Chiang Mai and the previous passport until another member pointed that out and then you forgot which type of visa you held, what else did you skip over or miss out?
I disagree, his English seems fine to me - I find it easy to believe that he is degree-educated. I see he made some spelling errors in his last paragraph, but it's late at night and he's typing on his phone in a detention cell.
Why are you trying to discredit him? I'm interested to hear the rest of his story.

You make a good point that the pound lost a lot of value against the dollar BEFORE the Brexit vote.
Following the Brexit vote, the pound crashed and kept sliding for 4 months, all the way down to 28/10/2016 1 GBP = 1.2182 USD.
Since November 2016 the pound has modestly recovered against the dollar. Yesterday 1 GBP = 1.2579 USD- 2

The pound only declined against the dollar for a 4 month window in 2016, following the Brexit vote. The baht has been strengthening against other major currencies since mid-2015.
