  1. WeLL the wife and i went in today at lunch time and had a look with a view to getting food ,but i must be honest ime not a cheap charlie but do i really want to spend 300 baht plus to eat in a food court ? the answer was no ,so icant comment on the food but i think its to expensive for where it is .

  2. Repairs have started now ,so when i go in 2.5 months bet there will still be no parking , or when we go 3 months after that ,then there will be the repairs to the repairs once it rains.tongue.png

They redo entire soi 5 inluding new sewers. I'll guess they will be finshed on time when high season ends.

you forget that once its all over and the new roads and drains are in place ,they will have to start again when it all collapses

  3. if a girl goes out with you for money, she is really just a bargirl with one customer

    Is it difficult?

    talking out of your arse?

so going out with a man for money is fine then yes.

whatever floats their boats ,none of our buisness.

  4. there is a notice on our front door that it being increased by 1 baht per unit.sad.png

Then to my utter disgust my favourite breakfast cereal has just gone up

from 145 baht to 268 in one leap bah.gif

If thats the case that would make our bill about right.

    sorry about the cerealsad.png

  5. The PEA is charging for the months May - August an extra charge (Ft Charge) of 0.3 THB per Unit to compensate for increasing fuel cost maybe that is the increased cost you notice.

    Residential usage.

Normally, Electricity rates are difference depend on Meter size. I would like to describe in details following the contents below:

    - January – May 2012 Ft rate = 0.0 Baht

    - Normally, Ft rate will be changing every 4 months so since May to August 2012 Ft rate is 0.30 Baht per unit.

Because of high manufacturing costs so we changed fuel cost from after June – August 2012.

That would put my bill up very little ,but not having an air con on 5 nights a week for 4/5 hours should have brought our bill down ,instead it was up a little.

  6. All this is getting a bit boreing ,money talks bullshit walks ,i know two guys that have wives the same age as them and they have been ripped off ,i know another guy in his 80's and his wife is in her 40's they have been married 20 odd years and she adores him , sometimes people are attracted to the money and then fallin love with the other person,God look at Bernie Ecclestien ,i bet his model wife wouldnt have P----ed on him if he was on fire if he had been a car cleaner when she met him instead of the boss of f1 motor racing.

its the way of the world, people go out with each other for different reasons ,then fall in love ,dont confuse the guys in walking street 60 odd years old with a 20 something hottie on their arm with married couples those guys have just hired "love" for the night.

  7. Every couple where the farang bloke is 20 years + older than his Thai wife/gf that i know, the younger Thai gf/wife has been playing around with younger Thai/farang men behind her older farang partners back.

Ime 24 years older than my wife ,we have an 18 year old son ,if she has been playing around it must be in breaks between cleaning the house ,looking after her garden ,she never seems to stop ,add to that she very rarely goes out alone if she is playing around behind my back i can only assume its with the guy who comes to fix our car occasionally ,but then he is older than mesmile.png

  8. Been in big c today, sat across tacos for 30 minutes. No business at all. Lunch time, food court packed, anna kebab wrapping kebabs like there are no tomorow, but sunrise didnt have any single visitor. Too pricy for this area

Yesterday was our opening day. Yes, it was quiet. Today however, we did more business by 2pm than all of yesterday. Give us a chance. Today, we did at least 10 takeaway orders by 1pm. We are now speaking with Big C about a dedicated seating area, with wait staff also to try to get away from the food court mentality.

    Gil

I wish you the best of luck in your new location. However, I think you would be better off forgetting the idea of a wait staff in a food court and just use the money you would have spent on extra staff to lower the prices!

Fair comment. What we are thinking is, a dedicated area, railings, umbrellas, a cool floor, some decor, etc.

We already offer set packages at Baht 165 which includes a soft drink, generous portion of chips, and a main. Had such a customer today come up and say he was full to the brim when I tried to sell him a pie slie.

    Best,

    Gil

Ok dont go on ,me and the wife will give you a try.tongue.png

  9. you people really expect to be ever integrated in the thai society?

how many real Thai Friends do you have?

is your Relation with your Thai Spouse a non financial one?

You can always tell a newbie ,same old hackneyd bullshit, i have quite a few thai friends so have many other westerners i know and not one has "baught" his wife , just get out more and stay away from the bars.

  10. I first came here 24 years ago and was lucky enough to meet a resident who owned a bar ,he gave me advice that i always followed ,he said look in the mirror ,your not a hansom man and bar girls would much prefere a young fit Thai boy ,but you have one thing they dont have --money,so dont lose your head. i took his advice to heart and although i did have a relationship which didnt last , i too had a buisness here and met my wife through it( i ran it with a partner ,i lived in the uk) and have been happily married for many years ,but i made sure that we didnt come here to live permanantly untill i had enough money to cover myself .

its almost immposible to live here under pension age unless you have a good income .

hope you get to come back sometime.
