Yes i can remember the nightmare journey to the old airport,when you wanted to go home ,also the old "department store" up near where tuk com is now ,once off the beaten track soi bonkot ect was like being out in the wildes ,after my first trip i had met a girl and she wrote to me ,saying how she missed me ,a few weeks later i was on a plane back ,happy days ,funny thing is ,i still know her after all these years ,still looking good and married with kids.

About 23 years ago i came to Pattaya for a holiday,then there were no tourist couples here ,no falang children on the beaches and you very rarely saw a white woman,there was no third road and you only went to the sukhumvit road if you wanted a day out at mini siam, Jomtien was a days outing and the bars were full of young girls , some so young that today you would be arrested .

still i loved the place even if there was only kfc and dunkin dougnuts .

what things have changed since you lot first arrived all wet behind the years?

I can remember Pattaya a long time ago when the average age of the bar girls were 16 or 17 ,not that i am saying its right but "old" was 20/21 times havnt half changed,half the bars seem to have "girls" who could be a granny.

I cant take nsaids, the only thing that works is colchicine ,kills the pain dead , my uric acid levels are not high , also baking soda was a waste of time.

Actually I wouldn't live in Pattaya. It is just too congested for me. I much prefer Jomtien and in fact, I have a condo there.

Why is it that Pattaya, Jomtien and the dark side are growing so rapidly? Could it possibly be that it is a great area to live?

The areas you mention are great ,but i reckon the reason thats where the building is going on is because there is very little room left in Patters to build.

Thanks i already do 1/2 hour a day on the treadmill and have started dieting ,as i am a little overweight. lets see how it goes

Why dont we get our pensions upgraded ,why cant we access a doctor free in the UK after paying in for all those years ,yet immegrants can go there get benifits ,a house and free treatment on the nhs.

Assuming, you live in Pattaya, I recommend you see Dr. Olivier in South Pattaya. I went to see him regarding my heart problems. I found him to be very good. He is Swiss, speaks about 5 languages including Thai.

Has a Thai license to practice in Thailand ,only western doctor do so. His rates are reasonable, and he does not tend to overmedicate.

I have actually visited Dr Oliver some years ago ,and to be honest found him of little use ,a problem i had was sorted by a Thai doctor very quickly and cheaply two things the other doctor did not do . also i have used Bumrangrad in the past , as i used to live quite close and drive to BKK quite often , as for the hbaci test i have had it done (at the pattaya clinic 300baht) it was he sugested it when my blood sugar came out at 130 ,it had been 89 3 months earlier,it was 6.8 ,again the doctor there sugested diet ,and to see a diabetes doc.

It was made in the pattaya news section ,regarding a beer bar owner who had supplied underage girls,the guy made the disparaging remark about Pattaya and the "sort"of people who live here ,i gave as good as he had given and my post was deleted by the mods ,i posted again ,in a less heavy style ,this was deleted as well , some time later the posters original post was taken down as well,although i at no time reported it ,i never do that ,only reply .

Sad to hear ,but he made a very nice product and as we all know enjoyed lots of it himself. RIP.

Its good to see that so many posters do not have negative things to say about our city,i know there are some parts that are not "high class" but then most places are like that ,it seems that there are some small minded people who live out in the sticks for one reason or another and knock us ,but as another poster remarked ,it does tend to sound like sour grapes that they cannot afford to live here .

well to my mind that smacks of hypocracy,how does he know its the drain hole? has he read it or has he visited those parts of it and why? if its such a bad place .He certainly has not visited where i live and thousands like me and my familly ,there are far more decent people here than the other sort i can assure you. how would he like it if i said that onlt poor farangs like him live out in the boonies planting rice because they are low class dumboes? not nice is it?

If you work in the perimiter of your home its not working ,however if you go and paint the walls on the outside it could be construed as working ,strange place Thailand isnt it?

We used them when we came to live here ,from the girl who took our first phone call to the guys who delivered our stuff to us they were great, i would not hesitate to recomend them.

Its not an insult ,cannot understand why people take it as one.

Trouble is tourists here in Pattaya think that as they are on holiday rules do not apply to them so they just walk in the road and generally get in everybodys way ,

Even after 23 years walking street is just the same ,rubbish tourist trap.

Shoot the bloody lot ,you can start where i live.

Why not come and live in Pattaya ,you could buy a nice house ,in her name (you cant own land) and then she could find a nice little job greeting tourists in a place we call 'walking street" you wont like it ,no coffee shops ,and then you can settle down to married bliss (the sort a 63 year old has with a 24 year old girl he has known for two weeks.
