Thx never thought of the fire hazards

    appreciated

    :wai:

Its as broad as its long, unprotected steel starts to deform and collapse at 400degrees so my advice, in a fire just get out.....

unless you have a preference cyanide poisoning or 10 ton of steel on your head.

  2. A friend of mine had pu sprayed, a not so large roof area will cost you 50k. It will not be to the standard 50mm thickness they sell you and they cant....will not be prepared to check it.

Also reckons to seal you roof tiles at the same time, another false claim.

Check out some facts about it i think its not worth the risk.

For half the price you can have a sheet insulation board under the tiles or steel roof plus the stay cool on the ceilings.

That 150mm stay cool is actually the best product sold in Thailand at just under 350bt a roll (well it is at home pro sometimes)

Yes that's the only way   you can use one of those motorised car polishing machines

didnt the op say faux granite, probably meaning its a vinyl wrap of sorts.

On the bright side its also going to impervious so any stains can be lifted, wiped off.

So I for one will not be going to Makro for as long as they hand out these potentially dirty cards.

Well, do what I do and if in a car keep your window closed and drive in.

If on a bike just ignore the card being held out.

I couldnt see the point for years, only once I think did the ticket man wander to my bike and leave a ticket on the seat. Thats where it stayed until i opened the seat.

    Simples.

How do you know that "everything" is from China and what would it matter if that really was the case?

I know because viitually everything made now comes out of China, even Western car manufacturers arebuilt with components from China.

The quality at nr Diy is in keeping with our perceptions since the 60s, its garbage generally.

I bought a light bulb, well 2 for 80bt and it lasted 30 days, 60hrs, dead now,I bought an interesting folding box cutter with 5 blades, the folding ratchet mechanism was plastic and it broke a minute after i took it from the packet.....still the blades are good for using in my other stanley knives.

Cheapo earplugs so far doing great, impressed so you win some but lose most.

  6. Yes I would follow a similar method to Charlie.

The initial sanding in the area is the important bit. It removes any existing finish to allow the bleach to penetrate. Use bleach or the wifes hydrogen peroxide and brush it into the stain and leave it overnight.

Another great stain remover is baking soda and vinegar, mix into a paste, infact thats exactly how i make my toothpaste for teeth whitening. Then brush it in with your wifes toothbrush.

Just make sure you see the results of your labour before the wife kills you.

If in your yellow book you are the housemaster, you should be able to report

So a yellow book owner ranks higher than just a married pleb?

Really dont want to involve the wife in more immigration stress, she has the same contempt for them as we do

  8. Despite what you say, this TM30 lark has the same ambiguity and clarity as every other immigration requirement leading to confusion and despair.

At the point when we think we have "got it" ie in 18 months time, they will revert to some other rule to mess us about.

The most recent rule change appeared to remove the need to report each time you returned to CM, hotels andGH taking care of their guests and long term stayers only needing to report if they changed address from the one they had previously lodged.....hence they reckoned the number of reportees woild reduce 90%

So whilst its nice for you to mention this, thankyou, it just creates more confusion which is of course what Immi want.

  9. I think 2 day is a worst case scenario.

If I wanted to post I would certainly take it to Phra Singh main inward outward post office, early in the morning or at closing time for it to get on an overnight flight.

There are several competing postal services now and may be more keen to impress.

Did you consider having a coughing fit in the line, people might have moved out of the way, including the security guys as you continued your cough all the way in, would have been fun to at least see their reactions.

    I will never simulate coughing.

  11. I think he has removed the 100mm diamter floor drain grid and has offered it up against the drain elbow to show he wants to run the drain into a 100diam drain.

He can of course cut a hole in the cover if he still needs to use it or get a reducer fitting say 100 to 50mm then push the elbow in maybe using a rubber sleeve to seal it tight.

Well thats my interpretation of what he wants to achieve

  12. Exploding sealed safety glass more common than you think.

I once came home from holiday with a conservatory window devoid of glass thought i had a break in.

All about micro impurities in the glass making process which is yhen heated to create the very high tension.

It will have failed at the point there was some impurity in the glass.

A change in season, cold nights and hot mornings likely the catalyst for this.

A tip, the weakest point of a safety glass pane is at the corner.

Hit it with a hammer in the middle and the hammer will likely hit you back on the head. In a fire, hit the corner to escape.

It is 50,000 for one visit.  Check what a dental implant costs?  They are not cheap. Also, the dental crown comes after the implant has fused.  The cost of crown is in what I would call “In the Cash and Carry Range”. 10,000 to 15,000.

I would make a substantial bet with you that you cannot go to a dentist and have this procedure in a once only visit.

I needed 4 visits for a crown, gum surgery, post gum check suture removal, mould impressions, adjacent fillings, crown fitting and 25k bt kick in the stomach

They pay about 3% fees, so when OP is paying 50k THB they will be charged 1500THB in fees, not really negiligable.

But it seems they offer a 10% discount for cash, so if the customer pays by credit card they would obviously earn more, so it's kind of strange if they are reluctant.

That is incorrect, a company will pay for the time charge of the telephone connection which is say 15 secons plus tge connection. The break even point is at 500bt for most people. A charge of 15bt on 1000,5000,10000bt is nothing.

Some credit card companies (the big ones) may want ro charge a company a rental fee of 500/1000bt a month if thry do not spend 50k a month. Our machine came from Kasikorn and costs 10bt a day.

There is no waiting for payments, a 10pm credit card transaction will be in the bank 7.am next morning, so cash is no real advantage and excuse to detercustomers using it.

They will find very soon they are in a minority as cards, and epay systems are the way forward.

  15. Last time I called in CM furniture, they said no need to worry about the sizes you see, you can have whatever size you want and then showed me the website of their suppliers.

Pretty much a given here that anything and everything can be made to order, and that would include perfect copies of your favourite Boca Do Lobo suite covered in Italian leather

  16. The costs for selling via credit card are negiligable.

We only charge on credit cards for sales under 500bt, anything over is tbh nrither here nor there.

The 3% charge covers, the telephone line cost from your swipe machine and maybe 5bt. Then the bank, give you the visa machine and charge us 321bt a month, it was free up until 2yrs ago.

I understand its actually against Visa,Amex,Mastercard rules to ever charge customers for using these cards.

As  for dentists, your proceedure costing this amount will need lets say 4/5 visits just like the precedure for having a crown.

For sure they will charge you each visit, so i dont see the problem of having 10k in your pocket each time you go
