  1. Great idea, notice the staircase landing built into the wall.

I would of course be paranoid about not seeing those hairline cracks typical in aac. If a full panel is cracked its an expensive job.

    Panels gotta be 500-1000bt each?

  2. A few hotels in CM have used this method.

Its basically a  thin concrete cladding panel that the West have been using for 30+yrs.

    Think Slenderwall.

Compnany here VCon use CLCcellular lightweight.

I have seen them hanging from concrete beams and bolted through eyelets, profiled of course so they overlap.

    No render,just filled and painted.

Quite a typical method of system build really.

  3. I am a bit puzzled with your economics here.

I realise you are tight as a camels arse in a sandstorm but to spend 6400bt on something to save say 300bt a month is going to be near on 2 years without any guarantees before you can appreciate your decision.

You can much easily save 300bt of electric by reducing any air con usage, switching off lights, spending 500 less hours on Thai visa, one beer a week less.

Cmon man you are letting the thrifty team down here by spending on projects deemed to fail

  4. Came to the party late, however if you find you are short of components there are two solar lighting and energy places I know of.

One on the superhighway between Yok and the bus station turn off.

Second one on the lane near watkhum kiang, Wat chedi Liem entrance.

You can ofcourse pick up panels at Global andAmorn.

9 year old thread resurrected by a salesman offering goods and eyecatcher bit

    Wow

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

    Well spotted Bill!

Yes I was conned, you Know theres threads that come alive after ten years and others archived and dead after two years.

  6. Just go back to Global and ThaiWatsa and look again.

you will find exactly what you were looking for in the first place.

If you prefer, go to pretty much any builders yard, and pick up as many rolls as you need.

Its cheap and its galv......having said that, dont be fooled, the coating is microns thick and after a month outside your fence will be rusted up.

    The install price is 30k.

Yes they are pre cast concrete. With pre tensioned steel inside. 540 mpa from memory.

I wanted to use sheet piles, but finding a local contractor was impossible. So I had to compromise on the concrete piles.

These are called sow khem eye. As they have slots for concrete slats to slide into. To form the wall.

As for installed cheaply. They have a 18 ton rig. Which is going to smash them into the ground. I live out in the stick so getting fancy machines from Bangkok is not an option.

Ok I got it now, i missed your description above. so they are concrete H section posts and concrete panels. Very popular now for installing and therafter filling up a plot.

You're implying you have to surrender your present passport when applying for new. Is that correct?

Logic says the present passport remains valid until new received at which time 'old' is cancelled but we are dealing with U.K. government here.

No, even when you apply for a new passport at home you have to post your old one off, which they stamp as cancelled on every page and i think they cut the corner off....then send it back to you.

Extra security and evidence you are genuine i suppose.

Your new passport becomes valid with an extra 6 months at least in most cases., so your issue month will necer be the same as exp month

  10. We have used VFS twice for uk visas and honestly it was a doddle and very well organised with appointment times.

However the application form is a three day challenge even for uk citizens let alone foreign nationals.

The passport service represents excellent value for the bumper passport and i think if you need to travel in the interim they organise emergency passport for you.

  11. The problem is that telecom companies are great at taking orders and will have you connected up in two days; but they never remove the old obsolete cables after say a home or business tenant as moved on.

As a recult most properties will have at least 3 cables coming in.

Then to compound that, an existing tenant hears of a 10bt a month cheaper deal from a rival supplier who then comes along and put theirs in.

The old cables don't belong to them so why should they touch them?

I have seen hundreds of metres of old cables, telecoms and electric cut off and just left on the footpath for over two years at the end of Sirimangklajarn. its an eyesore but "not my job"

  12. The best and most original has to be the Old medecine hospital behind Nim plaza.

Its a while since i have been but akin to a Turkish bath for something ridiculously cheap like 60bt its probably the best.

I have a diy steam room in my spa but its ok I prefer to have naked chinese ladies than geezers who know full well that the House of man is the House of Male.

  13. A green backed plasterboard always represented a moisture resistant board, however that was usually for internal conditions such as a bathroom and kitchen.

They are not waterproof and really should not be used in an external position such as yours.

There are purpose made eaves boards for outside.

I think the green dye is the tip of the iceberg.

  14. I specifically bought a Stirbel multipoint to deliver instant hot water to the kitchen sink and the a rain head.

Its a 6kw and will set you back 7500bt, but they are the best and essential if you like a really hot shower in the winter.
