  1. One of the best accessories you 795 Ducati buyers can get is a Ducati Performance Gel seat. The stock seat is very uncomfortable and you'll have a sore ar5e after an hour of riding. The gel seat however is uber comfortable and looks really smart with it's red stitching....

And the price will be very smart too!!!

  2. OP, I do ride my scoot around the village without, I like the choice although it is enforced sometimes usually at the end of the month so the helmet is underseat, all be the Honda freebie.

I still want a bigger bike as well and I will wear my fullface Caberg when going out of the village, summer gloves, a lightweight leather jacket, jeans and angle boots.

Many would say I tempt fate and yes, I agree but that's the choice I am able to take here mainly because it's hot.

In UK I starting wearing a helmet before it was made compulsory but wore it when I decided I was going for a blast.

It was good to have the choice especially summer time, winter weather your only too glad to fully clad.

Of coarse it's safer to wear a helmet that conforms to safety standards and it's safer to wear fully protected MotoGP airbag type suits, back protectors, kidney belts, kevlar socks and boots, gloves, and neck collar protectors, but in Thailand. crying.gif

Assessment, Skill, Competents and Confidents in your abilities are the words I guess I'm looking for, sadly many people are not capable of this.

This is fair info :- http://www.smarter-u..._MC_Helmets.pdf

    Ride to live, K.

Reminds me of my Lambretta days of the 60's, no helmet, just a pork pie hat, and skimming down the road on my ass on ice. Nooooooooo road salt in those days. cowboy.gif

Oh memories I loved my Lambretta Li 150 but sooo wanted the SX 200(I think that is what it was called..

  3. So is the 795 a fair price or would I be better off with the Kawasaki

I test drove the 795 recently, it was awful!! riding position is terrible and the seat seems to push your crotch into the tank, my wrists were killing me after only a few kms, I went straight to Kawasaki and ordered the ER6n but canceled this when I returned and saw the new Z1000, the ER6n is a far better bike than the Monster and 150k less why would you buy the Ducati? the Z1000 is an awesome looking bike yes it is expensive but you only live once!!

As for the Z1000 not having ABS this is not a problem if you are a good driver!! one less thing to go wrong!!

the er6n is over weight ,its heavier than some litre bikes

ducatti is dry weight 167 ?

er6n is dry weight maybe 206?

ducatti should be more powerful ,more flickable ,better sounding ,faster + qicker off the line, better looks ,less of them on the roads ,etc etc etc

i dont know if its uncomfortable or not but there are many advanatges the ducatti has on the er6n and the er6n seems to be just "costing less " as its advantage

I love the look of the Ducati but for me being 6'4" it was awful, I do believe the hp figures are almost identical not sure about torgue figures.

i dont like the feeling of abs personaly because its intrusive and going slowly over rough terrain like ramps ,bumps, train tracks it juders the levers unnecessarily but its pretty obvious IT WORKS !

anyone who thinks abs is not good should watch this test with professional and experienced riders :

ABS is obviously a good thing to have, Wanting or needing ABS depends entirely on the type of driver you are, I never intentionally drive in the wet, if I should get caught in the rain I reduce my speed significantly as I have no confidence driving in the wet so therefore it is not needed by me, as far as I am aware ABS is mostly an advantage in the wet, if you should need it in the dry then in my opinion you are driving far to fast and not paying attention, again I would rather have it there but it would not stop me buying a certain bike.

  6. Susco gas station before airport turn off has 95 gasoline.

Can run the Z1000 on 95 gasoline or gasohol but if you leave the bike standing for any length of time make sure its gasoline in the tank (gasohol will spoil seals and gaskets over time) You will also find your fuel return is less when running the gasohol compared to gasoline.

Is that the same situation with cars and other bikes here? Kawasaki says 95 gasohol okay so assume any problems with seals etc would be covered under warranty,

I have just read on gt rider.com that the Z1000 is fine using gasohol 95 but a tank of regular 95 should be used once in a while to keep the fuel system clean.

Yes totally concur with this, there's nothing wrong with using it, in fact you're bike will run just as smooth as with gasoline but just less km's per tank. Only when leaving the bike with gasohol for a long period (months) are you likely to experience any problems. Just keep a look out for 95 gasoline when out on rides and fill up where poss...

Cheers mate you are the only person to offer good advice.

  8. In Kaswasaki today and asked the question about Z1000, what gasoline to use, answer 95 or 91 I am assuming gasahol, on tank it says 95 ROM, so is it 95 gasahol or just 95 gasoline?

Best of luck finding gasoline 95 in Phuket. Let me know where I can buy that ....

If you read my question, I am asking do you use 95 gasahol or is there 95 gasoline. it says on the tank 95 ROM, on the 250 it says clearly 91 E10 so you obviously know it is gasahol.

  9. Have you ever notice that Black Taxi's also don't pay at the exit booth. Parking in that lots is dear, you have to watch the rip off at check out, and we pay so why don't the black taxis???

What rip off??? 20bht is a rip off!!!

  10. The UK Z1000 also does not come with ABS!! although the Z1000sx and the Z1000sx tourer have ABS does not make sense!!

none kwaker650 in UK have ABS as standard, option to charge for. Standard on all TH 650s since august 2009

its not about going fast, its about stopping fast and with the rubberside still down. Its a new world of riding

ABS is a braking aid it is not something you should rely on, it is far better and safer to adopt a driving style where Abs is never used, all the big bikes and cars I have had the ABS has been un-used, I prefer to rely on my skill as a driver!! but again it is handy to have it there just in case!!

  11. Please explain, if you are hitting your brakes many times a day you are obviously driving far to fast and far to close, I never drive close and I never drive too fast but I do drive fast when it is safe to do so!!

Are you one of these people that assume big powerfull bike means going very very fast? To me driving a big powerfull bike is about the beast beneath, the sound, the look, nothing to do with breakneck speed.

  12. Please explain, if you are hitting your brakes many times a day you are obviously driving far to fast and far to close, I never drive close and I never drive too fast but I do drive fast when it is safe to do so!!

  13. I am no boy racer and the reviews for this bike are very good, I have never in 40yrs of driving cars and riding bikes ever need the help of ABS,m yes it is good to have but not everything!!

I avoid driving in the wet at all costs, if I should get caught out in the wet I drive very very slowly as I have no confidence in riding in wet conditions!!

wet conditions are not slippery, neither is snow or cold ice

dry paved roads with water spill from watertrucks are extremely slippery

ABS is not everything, its just an aid. An aid making me able to slam the breaks with full power at any time and stop in the shortest distance possibel. Doesnt make me ride faster. makes me ride non ABS bikes much slower

and for kwaker Th to launch z1000 without the 15.000 baht ABS, what a bummer

ducati done the same to keep its cheap TH made bike at 399k baht

a simple honda 250 thumper at 115k baht comes with abs these days

It does seem silly not to have ABS on such a big bike, I wonder why that is?

You want to slam your brakes on at full power? Not having ABS brakes would not make me drive slower as I do not drive like a lunatic and feel the need to slam the brakes on, as I said in over 40yrs of driving I have never had to slam my brakes on!! but again obviously it is an advantage to have ABS, it's an aid that can lead you in to false sense of security!!

  15. boy racers disconnect ABS

Keeps the rubber side down for me on unpredictable Th roads with oil, sand and water spots

been a non ABS rider for +30 years, ABS only for past 3 years, will never go back to non ABS on public roads

  16. Now canceled my ER6N and ordered the Z1000 it's a monster!!!

so you dont need ABS brakes any more. Its not a monster, its a detuned zx10r engine in a cheaper frame

well there is putting a damper on events, you not like I like very much!!! it's a monster de-tuned engine or not de-tuned engine, tell me what bike now days are not de-tuned?

yeah, kwaker dampered me on the z1000 Th specs. I had ordered one until it incresed 100k baht in price and came without ABS. Put me off. Went out and got another Ninja 650 until theyv got the brakes right on Z1000

Okay saw the bike and thought wow it has to be!! looked on Kawasaki web site it says 138bhp so that is de-tuned down from 173bhp still plenty of power. sounds great looks great. as for ABS if you are not a boy racer it's not needed!!

  18. MCW is a great bike shop and their experience is second to none. Teera on the other hand i wouldn't trust them putting air in the tyres....

Went into MCW and asked about getting an exhaust system, said they would call that afternoon still waiting 4 days later, maybe not so good!!

I have ordered a few things over the last week from Teera and the parts have arrived the next day(excellent service, the girl there can not do enough for you, I can not comment on there installs etc but first impressions are excellent!!

The parts are not cheap as they are imports from Italy, you pay for quality!! again the service there is superb!!

  19. Grow old gracefully and embrace it.

It doesn't look natural and its easy to spot someone who has had their scalp plugged.

    Don't be that guy.

I agree with this. Hair loss (if for non-medical reasons) isn't really something that can be remedied, so if that happens, better to counter it with a healthy overall appearance (i.e. exercise and diet). A good head of hair isn't really the same if crowning a large ass and gut, and if anything shows personal vanity is only follicle deep......

On the same vein, what really makes me chuckle are the individuals who dye their hair (usually some obscure colour involving dark brown and auburn), which if coupled with a wig of the same tone, resembles some Chicago mobster in a speakeasy!

ha ha my friend is here from the UK he got himself some Mr Men hair dye, oh my god when I saw him next I cracked up, he looked just like Captain Scarlet. I told him straight "be natural it's the only way"

  20. When I was very young and losing my hair I was very self conscious and hated the fact I was losing my hair, but that soon passed now I shave it all off at every opportunity, hair is a pain it needs washing, you have to pay for hair cuts, I do my own, no hair equals sexy man!! join the rest of us handsome men lol

this guy is very good looking without hair lol
