Exactly - so, how can you tell the difference between a 'resident' taking money from abroad rather than using a bank transfer and a tourist if they are using a foreign visa card ? You can't hence they would need to attack tourists as the tax would be lost on residents removing foreign money. Also in the UK you are not taxed on a certain level, I think it will be hard for Thailand to implement a system of tax on a sum that needed no tax paid on it ! Personally I think they would just say a tax on monies over a million baht up. Smaller would not be worth it and could it the tourists that may have a thai account

As I am not a American citizen I would have to say Reps or Dems or even my own UK government overspending without future cuts is idiotic -
I would honestly say that anyone selling their UK home or country of origin home is absolutely off their rocker. There are far too many variables in life NOT to keep your home. This said, I do not intend to stay in Thailand, it has never been my plan to stay here. Once my UK pension comes in then I will probably return back to the UK and visit here on part time basis. I can afford to take the Mrs and kid back in 8 years - my house will fund that (plus 3 pensions) - old 2-bed semi council house in the richest part of the UK is worth 4 bed detached up north in a nice village and still putting £100k in the bank to satisfy UK immigration. Old age for me is sitting in a nice conservatory in the UK, watching the snow or rain come down, a beer in hand and some old 70's re-runs on the tv - not sitting in a concrete poured building in 37 degrees. Life is/was about planning - you plan bad, well that was your choice. I have no sympathy for you - or the idiots i sit round the pool with. That said I sold everything to clear my house for my tenant, so , yes , I kinda sold everything, but not the one most important one

On the bright side, being intoxicated should nullify any insurance claim and he have to pay for it all himself - just rather a shame he does not have to pay for the emergency services costs -

With Biden and the democrats destroying the USA with overspending and paying 35 cents on every dollar borrowed on debt, plus paying out 5.5% or whatever on 6 months investments, people in my mind are running to get dollars to invest in the USA debt market. A guaranteed 5.5% on the debt market is a great payout as opposed to risky shares. People in charge of the USA finances and overspending are complete idiots -

Why on earth would a sensible American business man invest in a country courting China investment, chinese tourists and chinese armaments ? -
Revitalizing Thai Tourism with Safety Zones

Sorry but unless they drop the flight prices back to 2019 prices you will get nowhere near that. It is absolutely idiotic to think you will get the same number of tourists as 2019 when flights are up 50%. -
The girl then revealed the identity of the alleged rapist to police and a search is underway for the beast. Without knowing full details of the perp the story is too much guesswork - the rapist could well be an immature school friend, that is more likely to get a ticking off than a 40 years old man get 20 years
