Thailand appears to be becoming an unwelcome country even more, I think time here is becoming limited now

My own view is that this is going to be rehashed along the lines of it only applying to anyone resident in Thailand (for over 180 days) with a work visa that is paid in an abroad country bank account untaxed and transfers money to live on whilst in country on a work visa - THAT would make sense as thailand would be missing out on 'in country work/tax' (hope that makes some sense) I think I would be more concerned with this silly idea if I was on the said work visa.

They just cannot stop their greed of other peoples money. I'd rather spend 7 months in the UK away from the family and then 5 months with them, than pay them a single baht !

Sorry but the guy will just end up a bad smell noticed by the neighbours. Happens all the time here. Growing up as an only child, I love my own company - though married quite happy now with a young daughter I would be totally ok with being on my own if it went bits up. However, I also recognise that having a partner to clean my bottom and wipe my dribble when I reach VERY old age is quite necessary ! I believe there are two stages in old age - retirement that you enjoy - say 50-80, and then retirement when you need that extra help in life - and if you do not plan for that later stage - you really do become a bad aroma ! I am not saying there are not healthy 80+ people, their old age just hits later

You just know that Thailand is thinking 'How will this effect our tourism' ?

I would imagine that the only way that Thailand can possibly become a low carbon country would be either only allow in carbon free planes or electric only ones or peddle power ones. - or only allow in say a million tourists a year The planes coming with money spending tourists is probably putting out more carbon than they can possibly save on. Thailand is probably one of the biggest emitters of carbon if planes coming here are counted !
