  1. Oil is increasingly becoming a scarce commodity and will run out anyway. The fact that prices are rising is systemic due to supply and demand. This market effect is only accelerated by Russia's war of aggression. Oil as a weapon for blackmail. The question is not whether one can therefore tolerate a war of aggression by a large, heavy armed country against a small country just to get cheaper oil in the short term. The strategy must be to free itself as a country from these dependencies. And Thailand as a sunny country has very good opportunities. Instead of buying useless submarines, Thailand should rather launch a support program for renewable energies. The higher the price for fossil energies, the more attractive / economical alternative energy sources become. The path is painful for a short time, but will be successful in the end.
  2. Are such visa agencies and agents not licensed and regulated? Can anyone open such an agency without any training? In appearance, these agencies act like sub branches of immigration. The business principle of these agencies is that they have a special connection to individual immigration employees. So that everything works "quickly" and without "problems", aka runs well "lubricated", therefore the foreigner also pays a premium price. That seems like a semi legal gray area.
  3. The coupmakers from 2014 who actually used the military to overthrow an elected government with the King as head of state: accusing Move Forward of taking actions between August 2020 and January 2021 that were aimed at overthrowing Thailand’s rule of democracy with the King as head of state. That's really irrational.
  4. muscle pains and a throat irritation can also come next day, if you spend all night long with a thai stunning girl, oversexercise and drink to much whisky with ice cubes.
  5. A friend of mine would have liked to come with his wife and child for 2-3 weeks at the beginning of July. A good flight connection Germany - Bangkok - Germany with a maximum of 1 stop and travel time under 18 hours would have cost around 6000 Euros for 3. 220000 Baht for the flighttickets only. He has now booked Greece instead. It used to be easy to get last-minute flights (3 days flexible) to Bangkok (roundtrip) from Emirates, Thai, Lufthansa, KLM, Swiss, Finnair, etc. for around 800 Euros. For families with school-age children, flights in the european summer holidays to Thailand are simply too expensive. Beach holidays in Europe are by far cheaper at the moment.
  6. Unfortunately, the frequent traveler membership discount cards were no longer renewed at Raja Ferrys. Also, Raja Ferry appears to have too many administrative staff. The organizational processes are also overcomplicated. Mismanagement costs are also passed on to consumers.
  7. First they coup into the job of government and now they shine through abstinence. General inability coupled with a refusal to work and an arrogance that shows that they don't really care about the country and the people. Any reasonably responsible politician in government would be able to explain and justify his actions and plans in Parliament. Not so in Thailand. These government figures are not worthy of their office.
  8. Guess all the porn crews will fly in.
  9. Nice that after 50 years a nonsensical law is being questioned which only means inconvenience for everyone since 50 years
  10. I guess that 1. The trouser pockets are too small and not much can "go in". 2. The trouser pockets are sewn up and nothing can "go in". Or 3. Pants no longer have pockets at all. Totally impractical when traffic checks have to be carried out.
  11. In my home country (Germany) 99% of the police officers are incorruptible. Why? 1. They get a reasonably good salary. 2. We have good investigative press outlets that love to publicize corruption cases. 3. Convicted corrupt officials are 100% removed from government service for lifetime. In addition to imprisonment, the right to a pension can also be withdrawn. 4. Anyone with a criminal record can never become a civil servant. 5. There is an independent investigative group that controls the police force and reports directly to the Minister of the Interior. 6. All in all, we have more of the principle: Equal rights for everyone. If you're a super VIP and if you get caught drunk driving; you driving license will be removed and you must "walk" for months as everybody else until you get your license back.
  12. Things only change in Thailand when millions of Thais are on the streets and protest. This has been the case in the past and will continue to be so in the future. 8 years of prayut means: - National debt at record high - senseless military spending - Tourism figures -95% - enormous inflation - Normal population with debts up to their necks - Emergency Laws - Intransparency about the use of taxpayers' money - ongoing corruption at all levels - Abolition of democratic control bodies - no land-, police-, school-, pension-, administrative- or tax reforms - and much more. Personally, I don't know of any Thai who is better off economically under Prayut than before Prayut. Whether with or without emergency laws, on same day the dissatisfaction will boil over.
  13. That's how it will come. The coupmakers wrote themselves a beautiful constitution that automatically guarantees them 250 seats in parliament. And yet they are afraid of losing power. Every dirty trick is used to disable democracy. Here, possible election dates are announced and then often postponed in an autocratic manner, as it was the case with the territorial princes in the Middle Ages. It is unclear whether and when there will be the next parliamentary elections. The tolerance of the population for this government decreases with each passing day.
  14. Emergency Decree to remain in place to solve Covid-19 situation, not related to protests, Thai PM insists. How stupid he thinks the people are. That here the basic right of freedom of assembly can be restricted at all with such a flimsy assertion. Emergency laws are for emergencies. When the reason for emergency laws no longer exists, such laws have no place in an orderly democracy. A dark time for Thailand.
  15. Essentially, today’s measures bring to an end over two years of Covid-19 restrictions and rules, except for the emergency decree.... Is there an official reason why the emergency laws are still being maintained?
