I have a Thai driving license. THis is the first time I have had a one so I have to renew it after one year but its useful as an ID. It a lot easier to carry around than a passport or work permit and helped me get into Khao Yai national park for 40 baht rather than 400 baht! My UK driving license is no use there!

Will they be showing the game on True visions tonight?

If you have a Blackberry 9700 you will have to use Nimbuzz as Skype is currently not supported on this handset. Skype chat works fine over GPRS but to chat you will have to connect to a wifi network.

Going off on a slight tangent, are there any authorised Blackberry dealers in Bangkok? I would rather not go to MBK to purchase a new Blackberry.
Thanks.

Looks like no more 5 live!

I went into a small iStudio store asking about customised options for a 15 inch macbook Pro and they recommended that I use the online store. They said that it would be much faster. They also said that if there is a problem with it and it is still under warranty then any authorised Apple reseller will repair it.

I am assuming that if you order a machine online and it has a problem you can just take it into any authorised Apple reseller and they will fix it under the warranty?

Does anyone know anywhere that will be showing the Japan vs England game this Sunday? It should be an evening kick off Bangkok time. Will it be showing in True Visions?
Thanks

Its offensive to see photos of him and his family living the luxury life and buying brand name overpriced bags whilst Bangkok is on the brink of civil war, knowing that he is the one behind the red shirt movement. Too many lives have been lost because of this man and all he wants to do is shop.

BTS is open
Is this confirmed? I guess not for al stations though.

I am off to apply for a Thai driving license on Wednesday! It sounds a little more complicated than the process I was told! By the way, where is the transport department? Is it around Sukhumvit soi 99?

The consular section is open as I was just there today. Its a good idea to check with them what time they close on the day you will go there though as they closed at 2.30pm today.

Paragon looked shut when I went past it on the skytrain but MBK was fully open and doing business today, (Thursday).

I log off now, disgusted by the people on here who support government controlled violence against their own people.
When you attack, people will defend.
Who attacked who ? Who started this ?
Sleep well Abhisit and Suthep, the blood is on your hands.
Stop the violence and stop the killing !!
Sleep well, drama queen.
The reds (and their 'peaceful' protest) were given every chance to withdraw gracefully - they secured good progress in their campaign to have the rural voice heard.
Regrettably, it appears that was not the entire agenda.
Tam dee, dai dee. Reap what you sow - there are many cliches and hackneyed phrases flying around.
Thai rak Thai ????? <deleted> !
I hope the red leadership are proud of what they have achieved. The blood is on their hands - not Abhisit's.
Seems like the agenda was to push and push till conflict was inevitable. Not willing to negotiate at all when given the chance. To parade corpses on stage to incite more hatred and more violence is totally inexcusable. Blood is clearly on the hands of the red leaders who are up on stage.

Nattawut and Korbsak agree to a cease fire. Jatuporn and Arisman are saying "no deal". Anyone who supports these people, with leadership as horrid as they have, is well and truly lost the plot.
Peace, democracy. Clearly they are not interested in that. They just want all out war whatever.
-
Lets all Pray for Peace.
Difficult to see any kind of peace when the dead are being paraded on stage to whip up the crowds even more. I am absolutely speechless...
-
Jatuporn now parading a red shirt corpse on stage and winding up the crowd. This is a true atrocity. Absolutely barbaric.
As far as I can see, they are not showing any images of the many soldiers wounded on the ground from their attack.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour if true.

If the thugs win this, just fast forward and the same thing will happen again against them, endless cycle of doom. Someday the rule of the mob/coup solution must end. Abhisit is indeed too good for Thailand as it is. Their loss.
Exactly. Round and round it will go. The only thing that will change is the colour of the shirts.

I've watched the last 2 Paquiao fights at the UN irish bar. I think the last one started about 11am Sunday morning. The time depends on the length of the undercard though.
Where is the UN Irish bar?
Thanks

Counter service when I want to pay my bills.

I will be up in Chiang Mai for the weekend of the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight staying at a friends house who doesn't have True Visions. Where would be the best bar/restaurant to watch this fight? What time will be fight be starting approximately?

With a 3G connection, I think Skype would be usable. For now I only use it with a wifi connection.

I use a Nokia E71 and Nimbuzz works great when making calls over a wifi network. No problems at all. Conversation is crystal clear.
I have tried using the GPRS data package from DTAC to make skype calls overseas and it doesnt work well. The person I calling complains of lag and also the conversation dropping and then coming back. If it worked well over GPRS that would be perfect as my folks in the UK use a skype phone as well.

You need to have the Blackberry services to make full use of a Blackberry. For individuals you will have to get BIS and for companies, they will usually have BES. I think you have to have this package to be able to use BBM and also have push email. If you send an sms then thats still charged to the network provider. My current set up is that I have a talk plan and sms plan with DTAC which suits my requirements and then I have signed up for DTAC BIS which is 650 thb per month unlimited access.
The Blackberry is great for email but apart from that its a very average phone. Even some of the email has limitations. I cant download and open any attachment which is larger than 2.9mb and also on BIS, IMAP email accounts are not supported fully. Its only fully supported on BES.
