  1. I reckon that the Keane transfer was all about the power behind the scenes. Rafa probably never wanted him and his refusal to play him or even have him on the bench was him flexing his muscle. Keane made the move to his boyhood club, it didnt work out for whatever reason but there is no disputing he is a quality footballer and probably someone who Spurs need right now.

Is it really about dropping down a level, I would say not. I think he can cut it at the top level and has scored some cracking goals at his time with Liverpool, the one against the Arse was a great goal. He wasn't wanted at Liverpool and in my opinion his frustrations at Liverpool were more to do boardroom power struggles.

I for one will cheer and support him when he plays for Spurs again. A great player and the final game of the season will be a cracker, Liverpool vs Spurs . Will it be the game that Spurs need to win to stay up and possibly a game that Liverpool need to win to secure the title?

  2. one guy that has quietly surprised is Pavelechenko (sp), I think he has 12 or 13 goals in 24 odd games.

Thats not bad for his first season so far and having had 2 managers to get used to. The trouble is only 3 of those goals have come in the league!

  3. By all accounts Cudicini was got on a free which is good if he is gonna be back up for Gomes. Its terrible news if he is brought in to replace Gomes though.

The Chimbonda is a strange one. The guy has obviously has got loads of premiership experience but is likely to throw his toys our of the pram if things dont start going his way. I wonder whats up with Hutton? Long term injury or something more sinister of which rumours have popped up from time to time on various message boards. He obviously doesnt like Gunter or wants him to get more experience and maybe he see's Corluka as a CB replacement for King.

  4. 19 million. A drop in the ocean for the new owners. They have already made it clear that money is not an issue at all when it comes to players.

So...have all the libelous posts been removed from the Man City forums about that alleged incident?

  5. Regarding the 'KAKA AND ROB ARE MERE TRINKETS. 15th January 2009' post, I think a lot of the same things were being said when Abramovich started pumping all his cash into Chelsea, the only difference then is that Chelsea were in a better position to break into the big 4 than Citeh are now.

With all this cash Citeh will face all the same problems as Chelsea, big stars with big egos, fair weather fans only supporting the club due to the big names and glamour stars. I think that managers such as Ferguson and Wenger wont be too bothered, they will simply see it as another challenge to beat the big money teams with tactics, better youth team set up and scouting and also its not like Man U dont splash big cash either.

  6. What a terrible xmas period! All games were lost with very late goals. I wonder about the fitness of the players as some of them look knackered last night. Bad subs, Gomes was clearly injured but was made to play on....back in the bottom 3...hmmm...could the unthinkable really happen?!

something seems to missing - you look at your squad and say wow, should be top ten minimum - probably top 6. as for the late goals, seem to recall spurs getting a few of those right after Harry took over.

    I think they've got a few problems..

That Bench yesterday, on Paper, was great.

In reality, they don't give a <deleted> by the looks of it & Redknapp has touched on it in recent Interviews..

There's deep lying problems at T*ttenham by the looks of it within the Playing Personnel, Redknapp knows it & is making noises about it as i said above..

I think there have been problems for quite some time...I suppose relegation would mean that the club would have to be cleared from top to bottom...

  8. Of course he won't be, he's on his Fifth Envelope where Defoe is concerned after yesterday so no wonder he likes Defoe so much....

glad it's not just me that thinks harry is bent as a boomerang. i don't buy all the chirpy eastender character crap, him and peter storrie have been running game for years.

I think it's always been more of a dodgy east end car salesman type image that 'Arry has always had.

  9. Villa are looking like a really good side and that shows through their league position. I really hope that they break into the top 4 and I hope that they do it at the Goons expense! O'Neill is a good manager and has bought well. Ashley Young was a brilliant buy. Spurs should have got O'Neill in when they had the chance a few years ago.

  10. Dont know if any of you saw the Spurs goal, but the Spurs forward coming back IMO was 3-4 yards offside when the ball was played almost directly to where he was standing.

Arent i right in thinking that he should have been judged to be offside as he was clearly involved in the area where the action was.

Justice was served in the end.

Yes he was offside so luckily he didn't interfere in play otherwise Modric who was just level with the last Newcastle defender would have had his goal disallowed. Spurs have a dismal record against the barcodes so no surprise that it was a home win.

  11. Ledley King = A modern day Paul McGrath. Nice to get the win...it was deserved but could have been different if the handball against BAE was given and also if Gomes had not made those crucial saves.

West Ham look terrible though. Bellamy should probably go back and learn how to shoot. Chelsea will hammer them this weekend.

  12. Apart from the Fulham game Spurs are making the right moves up the table...West Ham on the other hand...going down down down! They are slowly slipping down the table and with the inexperienced Zola, the ineffectual Steve Clarke, financial troubles and injuries to key players (Ashton, Bellamy) to take into consideration, I think they could be in deep trouble.

  13. Dont know about the Spuds but for Spurs it's Cesar Sanchez who is some 37 year old who has played for Real Madrid a while back. Used to be Cerny who is at QPR and also Martin Fulop who I think is number 2 at Sunderland now. Ben Alnwick has been recalled and then there is a swedish 17 year old on the books as well...

  14. Whilst Gomez is between the sticks, there is still hope for Relegation... :o

    That was unbelievable at Fulham..

I feel sorry for the guy..his confidence is clearly shot to pieces. He doesnt even look like having the good first season before turning into a complete joke like all previous keepers at Spurs, Robinson, Sullivan etc...

    I like him, a lot.. :D

Yu wanna take him off Spurs' hands? Quite possibly the second worst keeper after Massimo Taibi. It also just highlights how bad the number 2 is as well!

  16. What a great result against Liverpool. Another win and hopefully another home tie in the quarters. I think there will inevitably some comments about beating Liverpool reserves but Spurs had also made 7 changes from the City game, and you can only beat what is put in front of you and apart from 2 howlers by Gomes it was a comprehensive win.

  17. What a game!...the Harry Houdini act rolls on and on. Pool should have been 4 or 5 goals to the good halfway through the second half. A win is a win and playing three of the top four teams and getting five points is not bad going! Finally off the bottom of the league which is a relief, now its just to get clear of the relegation spots!

    COYS!
