  1. I don't reckon Ramos will go. This will be his first full season in charge. He has not got off to a great start but to sack him now would be a once of the worst decisions in the history of THFC!

AC at West Ham has been under pressure for a while now. He doesnt seem to have won over the fans at all and the 3-0 defeat against City has not done him any favours. Moyes at Everton has not made any signings so far so he is going into the season without adding to his side. I think he is under pressure this season and might well be the first casualty.

    My prediction is:

    1. Moyes

    2. Curbishley

    3. Megson

  2. What a shocking start to the season. I think the shouts of Spurs to break into the top 4 or to even finish 5th are a bit premature! If Arshavin does come tot he lane he will be the direct replacement for Keane but if Berbatov leaves which is looking more and more likely a replacement will have to be found which is going to be very unlikely with only a few days of the transfer market left.

And where is that defensive midfielder which has been required for about 3 or 4 seasons now??

  3. This was taken from a football forum website:

from an alleged employee of MCFC -

"I'm sorry to say this, as a life long fan and - for the last few (for me at least) unforgettable months - employee, MCFC as we know it is finished. Here are the FACTS, for those who really want to know. Thaksin is, as of midlnight 10th August, 2008, an international fugitive.

He now has to be found guilty of corruption in Thailand in his absense, offering no defence. Extradition requests will surely follow. The PL will then have to find him short of the fit and proper ownership rules (and believe me, the pressure for that from fellow 'members' has been growing since June).

Thaksin is trying to palm off City onto whoever will now take it, an insolvent mess of a business, completely incapable of sustaining itself. The truth is that the only interested party (until recently) - Wardle - is not now able to bail City out now , he cant come close on his own and no partners have been found. The wage bioll and committments due on the last 2 years' transfers have spiralled out of control.

The Corluka affair is the last straw - I personally worked on the deal and can assure anyone interested that he has already been transferred to Spurs. Spurs have this evening started legal action, and he will be barred from playing for City following an injunction in the courts tomorrow.

Personally I expect Hughes to then resign on principal (he has no choice now, he is on record as saying that he will have final say on all transfers). Many wont believe any of this, but a few will.

I am very close to this situation (readers will never know who I am or how close - a few would know my name but it isnt appropriate to for me to come 'out') - trust me, I am close enough to know what has happeneded in the last fortnight, I am pissed off with it (as a fan, and as someone who has worked hard for the club durinig the ast 18 months or so) and it must be said, a little drunk.

I am posting this message on a few sites - apologies for those that keep reading it, but I want City fans to know what is happening. The sad truth is we are finished, and that as a result, the PL will be facing its biggest challenge since inception within 2 weeks of now."

  4. I would love to have a list of ladies' nights in BKK, feel free to contribute any you know of!

The only ladies night listings I know of are in BK magazine. Its a pretty good place to start.

  5. In Bruges - Brilliant. Funny and dark. The best thing Colin Farrell has been in but thats not saying much!

Hellboy II - Good film. Great special effects. Luke Goss once again plays a baddie very well (pretty sure he was in Blade II as well).

Baise Moi - Thelma and Louise but with real penetration. Thought it was a bit s**te to be honest.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley - Great stuff. Set in 1920's Ireland, workers rebelling against the British who are blocking Ireland's fight for independence. Cillian Murphy stars in it. Very good actor.

  6. I am using the google search function which is part of the Firefox browser toolbar (rather than going to www.google.com) and the search always brings up pages from google.co.th. How can I get it to search from google.com instead? I have looked at the preferences and there doesnt seem to be anything in there.

I remember that I managed to sort it out by visiting the google.com website and typing something in after the web address but I cant remember what it was. Anyone have any ideas/tips?

    Thanks.

  7. This is making the rounds of general foot forums...

Tycoon Thaksin Shinawatra has put Manchester City’s entire squad up for sale in the latest twist to his bizarre behaviour. Thai billionaire Shinawatra, who is already set to sack manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, is apparently so disgusted with the team’s performances in the second half of the season that he wants a massive clear-out, including young stars such as Micah Richards, Michael Johnson and Joe Hart.

The news of the impending fire sale throws City even deeper into turmoil and will further antagonise fans, who staged a mass demonstration against Shinawatra last week. They are threatening to withhold money for season tickets until it becomes clear who the manager will be next season and what players will be on the pitch. It also underlines the belief of many City insiders that Shinawatra does not understand football.

City’s owner, it is understood, has written a letter to each member of the team conveying his feelings. He has put all contract talks on hold and wants to start next season from scratch with a new manager and new players. All this has prompted deputy chairman John Wardle, who is distraught at the crisis, to apologise to the players for selling the club to Shinawatra.

  8. Emporium today was selling the old model black Macbook for 39,900 which seemed pretty good.

I bought a 2.2gh Macbook Pro today for 60,900. Gorgeous sexy machine.

That sounds like a quite a decent price. Where did you get that from? Emporium? Did you get any upgrades on memory or a bigger hard drive with that price?

  9. Any update on decent dry cleaners in BKK? I am looking to get my suit jacket and trousers done so I want somewhere reasonably priced but more importantly, where they will do a decent job. Thanks.

  10. The police were swarming around Silom around 1am and closing everything down. I guess its all to do with the drugs crackdown. Things will be back to normal after a couple of weeks I would imagine.

  11. I got the contact details for Dr. Oat who is based in Soi 38. Down the soi about 700m on the left hand side. The address is 89/4 Sukhumvit soi 38. Phone number is 02 392 1400. Cost per session is 1000 Baht. When I called up the receptionist didnt speak any English but Dr. Oat speaks perfect English.

He is open on Mondays from 5pm to 7pm. Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 to 5 and closed on Fridays and Sundays.

  12. For the footy, the game commentary is in English but I do like to hear the views and opinions of the experts as well as the round up for the rest of the games including all the goals. I never thought I would hear myself saying it but I do miss John Dykes and the rest of the team!
