Would the authorities have preferred them getting angrily drunk?

Here are a blue envelope and a yellow envelope sir. If you put them together they look green!

Laos has closed its borders as well as schools and other large public gatherings. Pi Mai (Song Kran) celebrations have been cancelled.
What the heck is Thailand waiting for?

To quote Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon."

The fact a school has a stock which can raise or lower is sickening in itself. I guess education must seriously be second grade there.

I took a look and the cheapest Philippe Patek watch I saw was $5000, and you just know the Chinese guy wasn't wearing the cheapest one or a used one. Chinese folks are much like Koreans, it's all about show. Whether you can afford it or not, or it's a sensible purchase is meaningless. I've lived in both places.
Like Thais and Lao's. I know many that live in festering dumps, no proper bathroom, getting up before the sun to light the charcoal to boil the water to steam the rice, no kitchen or furniture.....but a brand new Prado or Fortuner in the yard.

There's one and only one thing that shows you have been here too long:
The only thing that surprises you is that nothing surprises you anymore.

Having lived and worked in China I have to say, "Sir, you are correct."
Asians are bad with the spitting thing everywhere. Koreans are worse. The Chinese are the worst.
They also outfit their toddlers with pants split from front to back so they can easily squat and dump wherever they are. It is disgusting.

Who are you to judge how other people live?
You ever hear of a little something called social media. Everyone alive is a judge these days.

I'm betting the casting couch is still alive and well in Hollywood, just a lot more discrete.

As an admitted conspiracy theorist (for the most part), I think this entire social media thing was planned. It was the grand idea to market this entire new facet of living as bringing the world together when in fact it has compartmentalized us and driven humanity into self-contained and self-absorbed cubicles.
The art of conversation is dead. The huge majority of young people today think a chat room is the equivalent of sitting at a table and having a conversation.
I hate it. It saddens me and makes me wonder of the fate of humanity when my wife and I go out for dinner and the 6 people at the table beside us stare at their 6 phones all night long.

Man...it's about that dump of an apartment. Seriously, I cannot understand living like that. I don't live in a castle by any means, but it is neat, tidy and painted. I get Thais and Lao's living like animals but I don't get falangs living that way.

Looks a whole lot busier than Phuket was last Song Kran.

There is nothing wrong or immoral about using sexuality to market products. It's been going on since Neanderthals.

Did the needle penetrate his skin? Did he go to the hospital to be checked for any number of diseases, HIV being just one. This story is lacking pertinent details.

I remember when I was living in Korea and those huge ugly black large framed Groucho Marx eye-glasses became all the rage. Everyone was walking around wearing them. Of course, they were just for fashion and none had lenses in them. Just the frames. Idiotic.

They were/are fools for leaving that kind of money in a house, unsecured, while away on holiday. Stupidity at its finest.

It wasn’t the lack of a child seat that killed the kid: it was speeding and passing when it wasn’t appropriate or warranted...
Poor decision making and stupid behavior caused this fatality...

This is what I said and got crapped upon. The crappers are the ones in the wrong.

This is a load of compost. Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian lands, pretty much the entire world agrees with this with the exception of Israel and its butt-kissing acolytes. What they are doing to the Palestinians is as bad or worse than what the Nazis did to Jews for the simple reason they know better through experience.

A grandparent to a child nearly 3 years old and you're only 47? Wow.
Be that as it may, child car seats are not the answer. If they were how is it possible that everyone from my generation and before made it out alive? We all sat on dad's lap when he drove, or the passenger's lap, or wandered around the back seat. There were no seatbelts or child car seats.
Safe driving techniques is the answer. The car driver was at fault for trying to pass. If they had been driving like a normal human and taking care, all would be alive today.

What they need are native English teachers with more or less neutral accents. South Africans are not native English speakers, none that I've ever met anyway. Nor are Filipinos native English speakers. Most Aussies, Kiwis and Brits speak with accents that are challenging for a Canadian or American to understand let alone a Thai child in school.
Thailand needs Canadians and Americans to teach English and they need to pay better. Korea pays well and has incentives like free apartments and paid vacation, health plan and paid holidays etc. That's why all the folks who desire to move to Asia and teach ESL predominantly go to Korea. The huge majority of them would prefer to go to Thailand but it just isn't worth it. 1/2 the pay and no perks and benefits.

Exactly, you'd also have a good idea of what you owe through careful observation of the menu and basic arithmetic. Count it out and leave it plus a little extra to be sure under the water glass.

I think they should be injected with the virus and then choppered out 100km and dropped into the jungle.
