  1. I took a look and the cheapest Philippe Patek watch I saw was $5000, and you just know the Chinese guy wasn't wearing the cheapest one or a used one. Chinese folks are much like Koreans, it's all about show. Whether you can afford it or not, or it's a sensible purchase is meaningless. I've lived in both places.

Like Thais and Lao's. I know many that live in festering dumps, no proper bathroom, getting up before the sun to light the charcoal to boil the water to steam the rice, no kitchen or furniture.....but a brand new Prado or Fortuner in the yard.

  2. As an admitted conspiracy theorist (for the most part), I think this entire social media thing was planned. It was the grand idea to market this entire new facet of living as bringing the world together when in fact it has compartmentalized us and driven humanity into self-contained and self-absorbed cubicles.

The art of conversation is dead. The huge majority of young people today think a chat room is the equivalent of sitting at a table and having a conversation.

I hate it. It saddens me and makes me wonder of the fate of humanity when my wife and I go out for dinner and the 6 people at the table beside us stare at their 6 phones all night long.

It wasn’t the lack of a child seat that killed the kid: it was speeding and passing when it wasn’t appropriate or warranted...

Poor decision making and stupid behavior caused this fatality...

This is what I said and got crapped upon. The crappers are the ones in the wrong.

  4. A grandparent to a child nearly 3 years old and you're only 47? Wow.

Be that as it may, child car seats are not the answer. If they were how is it possible that everyone from my generation and before made it out alive? We all sat on dad's lap when he drove, or the passenger's lap, or wandered around the back seat. There were no seatbelts or child car seats.

Safe driving techniques is the answer. The car driver was at fault for trying to pass. If they had been driving like a normal human and taking care, all would be alive today.
