Wait a minute. There's a speed limit in Thailand?

Yeah....I can't see anything wrong with this plan.

I wonder if they were wearing life jackets? That would have kept them floating anyway. Sad story.

Well, you don't feel guilty at all. Then it's settled. You are innocent. Don't pay.

High time to get rid of us. And the Scouser thieves. And the Mancs. And the Welsh sheep shaggers. But you aren't left with much...
Is this written in English? ????

It's common when meeting women in Canada for them to ask what you do for a living. This is a not at all subtle way of asking, "How much money do you make?"
Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, Canadian...they are all the same. Who can blame them? Which guy among us that is married to a local girl secretly wishes she came from the Red Bull family?

I'm delighted the 10 points were set out for me. There's no way I would have figured any of them out!

Interesting. I wonder what the new verdict cost?

I love reading this tripe. What complete fools. What guy is stupid enough to put a down payment on a pick up when they know the girl has been black-listed as mentioned in the article.
Nope, those idiots deserve to get fleeced.

I watched 90 Day Fiance with these two. It was hilarious. She's a bar girl and he was a loser. Somehow they hit the lotto and are now making bank so she's happy. At least in front of the camera.
The show is well worth a watch, especially the scene where he couldn't afford the ring/gold she wanted.

The only surprising thing about this sad story is that we don't read about similar events coming from India (and China) every day!

A perfectly normal question that any contestant with half a brain should have anticipated and practiced for.
However, it does require taking a stance and the Thai/Lao way is to simply say, "Up to you." Because, as we all know, making a decision is hard!

If he's back in the USA they'll never deport him for that. She should travel home and file charges there for assault and battery.
Sounds like he is a Muay Thai fighter as he hit her with his elbow.
I've known a few falangs who got into it and every one of them was 2 steps from being an out of control animal.
Why would any woman want to be involved with one is beyond me.

I taught English in China. The students have an unrivaled thirst for English unlike here in Thailand. Better English means more $$$$.
I, too, taught English in China. This is the polar opposite of my experience.

I've been teaching for 15 years including a 6 year journey in Korea and 6 months in China the rest in Laos.
Filipinos are not native English speakers. I have worked with dozens and known many more. I have yet to meet one that could even remotely be considered a native level English speaker/reader/writer.
I'd also love to see a breakdown of Thais by sex: male and female students. I bet the males are seriously skewing the results downwards.

The day a Thai points at him or herself and says, "It's my fault. I take full responsibility.", will signal the imminent arrival of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Thai can't even pump a motorbike tire at the Honda dealer....they even don't have a proper pressure gauge and just pump untill it's rock hard.
Man, this is so true here in Laos as well. I have a pressure gauges in my car and in my motorbike and when I stop to get air I bring it out and check until the pressure is at it should be. The "ahem" mechanics are always amazed by the magic little tool.

They didn't mention the unnecessary purchases of stuff people absolutely do not need just to keep appearances up.
I paid 3000 baht for my Huawei phone 4 years ago - still works great
I bought a new Kia Picanto not a Toyota Fortuner
I buy trainers for 500 baht not Adidas or Nikes for 5000
I make 45,000 baht a month and save 1/3 of it every month.
Being neck deep in debt is more often than not entirely preventable.

This is odd to me. Any other story where they bust a Thai person with 1 million yaba pills in his pick up and there's never a mention of the death penalty.

we live in a globalized world..why it should be only open for big money...its a peoples world ... i think the bs with visas and passports should pass soon..we.all are inhabitants of the same planet so all should be free to go to live travel and work wherever they want without surveillance without limitations...

What's the issue? Dude overstayed, he's in the country illegally and clearly healthy and able. Does it matter how illegal he is?

Your attitude may have been improved had you done some backpacking in your youth.
Dude, I have trekked through 43 countries. Sometimes on the lowest costs I could manage and other times staying as expensively as I could manage. Now that I am older I travel comfortably. Nice hotels, nice restaurants etc etc....it wasn't always like this.
However, I NEVER begged. Okay. Get that straight. Begpackers are scum. I've never seen one, but if I ever do, I'll let them know exactly how I feel.

Wasn't there a poster here very recently inquiring about building standards in the LOS. ????
